Happy Birthday Meitantei <3
//Happy Birthday to the most wonderful amazing cutest best partner ever
"Yup, that was the plan! This is my ラブ☆ラブ Love Medley just for you Ratio-chan~!”
"It's broken and disjointed."
He casually continues with a whole new song that has nothing to do with the previous - who said it wasn’t a medley?
"I see your true colours shining through I see your true colors, that’s why I love you So don’t be afraid, to let them show Your true colours, true colours are Beautiful, like a rainbow~ ♪”
"Are you really going to just sit there and sing all night?"
“Never gonna give you up Never gonna let you down Never gonna run around and desert you Never gonna make you cry Never gonna say goodbye Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you~ ♪”
Sighs and just allows Birthday to keep singing. No harm in it. For now.

"We're no strangers to love, you know the rules and so do I! A full commitment's what I'm thinking of - you wouldn't get this from any other guy! I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling. Gotta make you understand. ♪"
This is the third [maybe more actually] time. He should really just ignore the other. But if he was capable of doing that he would have long ago. "What are you doing, Birthday?"

So Meitantei asked like two weeks ago but I kept forgetting to answer and when I decided I would queue my answer so I wouldn't forget...the ask disappeared....So I'm just going to post it as a post yeah.
Was it…good that I was born?
For as long as he could remember, he has been asking that question over and over. Both to himself and to others.
And every time, he was given the answer ‘No.’
Hamatora official Artist Tohyama Maki used these pics for the Halloween pic of everyone!

[[Hello hello I'm going to try to stop being so inactive but I'm 98% sure all the replies that I owe are for Birthday -- So like for a starter!]]
This whole immense silence thing was starting to become rather awkward - maybe if it had been a hot girl who had stopped him he wouldn’t have minded as much, but to have another guy stare at you so thoroughly was getting kind of creepy in the length. “What? I’m so hot you can’t take your eyes of me? You wouldn’t be the first to fall for my overwhelming sex appeal,” Birthday commented, half in jest and half seriously (or maybe more wishful thinking depending on who you asked).
When the question finally ame however, the handyman was left feeling honestly speechless - a very rare feeling within the man who had a witty comment to anything. A question like that could only be a joke, but on the other hand this guy’s expression was anything but joking, clearly stating that Birthday couldn’t just shrug this off with some half-assed answer. There was a hint of desperation in the other’s voice, but there was no way Birthday could cater to an expectation he simply could not fulfil; no matter how much this guy wanted him to, it was impossible to recall memories that simply did not exist.
A childhood friend? How nice that would have been. Birthday never really had many issues with people and could always find someone to hang around, but he had never had anyone who knew everything. His hugest fears and concerns were things he had always been hiding away from people and shrugged off by playing goof. Maybe it would have been nice once in a while to have just one person who knew that there was more to it than that, but he had never had someone like that.
"Y’know, I’m starting to think it’s not my head but yours there’s something wrong with. I’m not just gonna go follow some random stranger around just ‘cause he says he knows me." Maybe under different circumstances he would have, but not when the person seemed to have a few screws loose. “‘sides, I’m not heading to the hospital anytime soon, but if you really want it I’ll have my head checked next time, thanks for the concern." A hint of sarcasm was present in the handyman’s words as he flat out told a lie - but honestly this stranger didn’t have to know that hospital visits were a regular occurrence to the young man.
"If that’s all then I’m gonna go. Next time you try hitting someone up you might wanna try a different approach. People usually go with ‘have I seen you before?’ instead of ‘aren’t you my childhood friend?’, its on a more tangible level."
Ratio winced at Birthday's answer. He half expected it, he knew that just asking outright like that to Birthday wouldn't be smart...but he couldn't help it. He didn't know how else to ask the other to go along with him. He was getting desperate and he didn't know how to deal with a Birthday that didn't know him. They always had an understanding with each other. A routine they picked up somewhere along the way that they had stuck to for so long.
But none of that was going to work here.
He ignored Birthday's words, listening just enough to hear but not enough to think about. If he listened too much he might start believing it really was him that was remembering things wrongly, Birthday always was good at convincing him of things. Even it was insane and ridiculous, even if it was outright illogical or unreasonable, Ratio always ended up giving in to Birthday...
The doctor was still trying to sort his thoughts straight, but Birthday was already turning away as if he was never going to return. Without knowing what to do -- mind quickly filling with panic because no, he can't just leave -- Ratio reached out and grabbed Birthday's arm. Probably not the smartest thing to do when someone has written you off as a crazy person, but he just needed a second...just a moment more to gather his thoughts, to think of something, because if he didn't Birthday was going to --
"...Did you say you aren't visiting the hospital anytime soon?" Ratio's mind was lagging behind his mouth but he spoke anyways, anything to prolonged the time Birthday stayed. "How could you be so irresponsible? What will you do if you get worse without anyone knowing?" It was a habit, Ratio was falling back to their routine even if he didn't meant to. "Even if they have just been showing that nothing has changed even after all this time, you can't just stop going to them."
But, Birthday knew that. As much of a fool he likes to play, the other knew when to be serious. And he knew that if he joked about forgetting his checkups Ratio wasn't going to be happy. Sure, the other talked about them lightly, but never had he said he wasn't going to go to one. Not straight to Ratio's face anyways. He knew so why --
...But no, he didn't know right now, did he? Ratio would have smacked his head against a wall. Of course Birthday wouldn't mention his checkups to some random stranger. And Ratio, the random stranger in the other's eyes, just scolded him about something not just anyone should have known...This was bad. Ratio was making too many mistakes. But it was hard. To remember that Birthday didn't know him. To remember that Birthday didn't trust him. That no, Ratio shouldn't be so familiar with the other because it must be hard on Birthday as well...but how could he just change the way he was around his childhood friend just like that?

"What is it like being you?"
The question was rather unexpected, and rather blunt too. He wasn't exactly sure how to answer, and how the other wanted him to answer. Deciding to be vague, he raised an eyebrow and answered. "Well, nothing that different than surely how you feel. Worried about a few things, hoping for other things, but really, the base of how it's like to be me would be feeling alive, as you are."
"You're act liking I'm in love with you or something."
How was Ratio acting differently than normal, he wasn't sure. He also couldn't be certain what the other meant with such a statement. No, if he was truthful he could say exactly what the other was implying but... "How have I been acting that is so strange?"
"Go ahead and leave. I'm not going to stop you."
Ratio sighed. The worst kind of patient was the ones that were stubborn. Well, the other didn't seem too be that injured, so he should be okay...though somehow the doctor was still worried. "...Fine, but here is my card. Give me a call if anything comes up..."
"Will you bear my child?"
He sometimes wondered what was going through the other's head, but he probably didn't really want to find out. "It isn't possible." Which, surely the other knew but if Birthday didn't want Ratio to point out the obvious then he shouldn't have asked such a question that really had no other way to answer.

"I feel like I'm going to puke."
Ratio looked over at the teen in slight worry, but his voice was as monotone as ever. "I see. What did you eat recently?"
"I killed someone."
It would be a lie to say Ratio wasn't surprised with the statement. Killing certainly wasn't something the doctor associated with the other. Especially since he knew the blond held life in a high regard, the other knowing just all too well how unfair it is to have such a short life. So, something bad must have happened. Ratio set down his paperwork and looked over to the other like he always would, and spoke in a clam and unshaken voice. "What happened?"
