“I’ve been uh good.” Reece had a lingering question on his mind but he didn’t want to be rude, if she wasn’t. “How are you? Life been treating you alright?”

“That’s good to hear. I’ve been better. I’ve gained a lot of weight recently, can’t seem to lay off the junk food.” she sighed dramatically. “Anyway I’m due to pop in the next couple of weeks. Kinda scared to be a mom soon though.” She lightly patted her stomach. “Oh and my best friend hates me. Feels awesome.”

“And I’m part of the family, so of course I’d come!” Ben chimed happily, from his seat.

Hayden was relieved at the reaction, he literally thought Mackenzie’s parents would strangle him. His parents seemed to be at ease too, or least they played it off to be. “This is great news, hun.” His mother pinched Hayden’s cheek. “I’m going to be honest, I thought Ben would be the first one to settle down. But this is still exciting!” Hayden swatted her hand away from his cheeks in embarrassment. “Mom!” His scolding sounded familiar to a teenage boy being embarrassed in a store, a pout flat on his lips. His Dad though, wasn’t as playful, and managed to ask the main question on his mind, being the old-fashioned man he was; “Does this mean you two will be getting married?” 

Mackenzie bursted out laughing but she quickly brought a hand up to her mouth when she noticed no one else joining in. “Um...” she took a moment to find her composure. “No.” she finally answered, her voice cracking from wanting to laugh again. But seconds later remember their little lie. “Not now but maybe in the future...way, way in the future. Right babe?” she asked, looking at Hayden to play along. 

“I thought I wanted you here. But I don’t think I do anymore…” Snow admitted out loud, fisting her sheet. “I almost tried killing your friend, the firefighter with dark hair and brown eyes.” 

Mackenzie looked down, she was trying not to take anything Snow said right now personally but her hormones weren’t allowing her to do that. “What are you talking about, Snow?”

Snow took a moment to examined Mackenzie’s now enlarged frame after the blonde pulled away from her. “Maybe you should sit down? I didn’t want to worry you– - I’ll text Riot to come pick you up. Shit I don’t have my phone on me. Just text him for me?” 

“What? No. I’m not leaving, I just got here. But I will take a seat.” She moved the seat in the corner closer to Snow’s bed and slowly took a seat so she could be close to her. “How’re you feeling? Does anything hurt? Do you want me to bring you anything?”

“Uh..I didn’t think you actually wanted to know. You were so dead set on one that one name.” He teased. “I like the names Rose, Samantha, Alexa, Ella oooh– -Olivia! Or Ariana, that’s really cute. See how indecisive I am?” He shook his head. “Of course, if you don’t like any of those names we could just look on the computer together?”

Mackenzie shook her head at all the names Hayden mentioned up until he said Olivia. “That one’s nice. Olivia.” Mackenzie reiterated to hear it out loud again. “I like that one. Kinda like that one song I like. Oh, I love you, I love you, I love, I love, I love, Olivia.”

“I’m not going– -I have no idea what that sentence even means, all I heard was hate, hate, and hate.” He grumbled. “Listen, Mackenzie, if it makes you happy, we can have that name. I’m not going to hate our baby for it. I’m sure she’ll be beautiful, regardless and the name will just have to grow on me. You’re the mother here.”

“You never did tell me what makes you liked though.”
