There is something to you
After our first real interaction, life goes on as normal.
Something slightly changed, however.
Whenever I see you, you don’t look back.
Always, when we see each other, we meet eyes. Sometimes we stare for ages. Sometimes it is but mere seconds. But our eyes always meet.
However, for some reason, I don’t remember the colour or the shape of your eyes. All I know is that they burn.
Know, whenever I see you in my life, I see you in your own world. Doing your own things. You stare at your phone as you wait for the bus. You talk with the girl behind the desk as you give your ticket to the concert. You eat an apple as you come out of the Turkish grocery store that looks like an abandoned warehouse at the side of some random road in the countryside.
It is like I’m watching trough a window into your life.
I am convinced that you see are observing small moments of my life too. I don’t know why; it doesn’t make sense.
But what about us has ever made sense?
Maybe the smile triggered the stars to change the course. Maybe they support us, want us to meet. So when they saw us, actually showing each other interest of meeting, the stars opened that very window for us to look in each other lives. To sort of meet each other. Get to know each other.
I now know your favourite animal is a fox, judging by the seven paintings of various foxes you got at the flee-market I went to in Germany last week. I know you go to Starbucks but never drink coffee, only get the various desserts you can get there.
Maybe you know I love sweet tea. Maybe you know that I run a few laps around the block in the early mornings. Maybe you know that I love to travel in Europe and hitch rides with strangers. Maybe you know that I really hate boats.
And may the stars lead us back together again.
