I think a lot of people who are complaining about the lack of content in Paralives are forgetting just how fucking bare bones the sims 4 was at launch.

i've noticed that sims players are so good at killing the vibe
Mortimer Goth thinking about his past with his wife Bella Goth:
It wasn't about the doll.
I was thinking about Tank Grunt's secrets in TS2 on PSP;
When Ripp took the doll from him, knowing that Buzz has 0 interest points in toys, and it being a doll, I imagine Tank must've been too afraid to ask his father to tell Ripp to give her back to him...
The doll was only one of the ways in which Tank tried to be in tune with his feminine side, all of which were either taken away from him or turned into a negative association
Him wanting to go into ballet but being forced to follow his father's footsteps is another example, and I personally find it lovely to see that in contrast to this, in TS2 on DS and on GBA he wears the pink shirt 🩷
And then there's the face paint...
Note that in TS2 on DS we find out from Tank that his face paint apparently is tattooed on and doesn't come off... I could be wrong but was THAT the punishment?
Think about how his face paint looks identical in TS2 on PC, PSP, DS as well as GBA and even in TS4 he appears with his family, where we can see that his father no longer has the lines on his cheeks, but Tank ... still has the face paint U.U
Honorable mention: in TS2 on GBA one of our first interactions with Tank is regarding him thinking that we are going to judge his apparel, presumably the pink shirt mentioned above, and this makes me wonder if his father's 0 interest points in fashion as well maybe made him view fashion (let alone the color pink) as something 'too feminine'...
...especially considering Tank has all the same interest points as his father
Buzz never allowed Tank to express himself

First time I killed a sim in The sims 3. I was 6 years old and I wanted my sim’s son to take a swim. He drowned </3 I was not prepared.
Karrin I will never forget you 💔 (I named him that because I forgot he was a boy when he was born so I was gonna name him Karin but then I misspelled it. So Karrin it was.)

Pascal Curious (Sims 2)'s favorite character is Kalle Blomkvist
Agree!
Maybe?
Disagree
I think it is funny that people still joke about ”removing the pool ladder to make sims drown” when ever since the Sims 3 that came out in 2009, sims have been able to get out of pools without ladders so you’d need a wall instead to drown them
Ah, Love is in the air… it stinks anyway
my love is expressed in shitposts, so here are a couple of shitposts with my favorite vv ships
I really don't remember whether I posted this or not.
Lowkey I do not care about not having cars in the sims 4. I almost forget to buy cars in the previous sims games too. My sims 3 sims take the taxi all the time regardless, or they walk everywhere. Taxi is free in simnation.
Idk maybe this is because I come from a walkable city and I personally don’t have much thought about cars cause I don’t own one myself and I don’t have a license either.

I thought ”Simis Bachelor” was such a funny when I was a kid because in Swedish, we often put -is at the end of words or names to make them sound cuter. So Simis was to me someone nicknaming a sim. ”Little Simis the Sim!!”
officially, the cutest pascal that i've ever drawn
Gotta say I FEEL your frustration teaching toddler skills to those triplets in your heir poll. So many of my toddlers have grown up badly specifically because of the potty training. So OFTEN they just go in their diapers before you get a chance to put them on the potty (granted my game is also laggy and the sims don’t do what they’re supposed to do because they stand around for an hour before doing the tasks). At least in the other sims games your toddler don’t grow up badly if they haven’t been taught all skills.
I gotta say Sims 2 is the hardest to teach toddler skills in general unless you give them that magic formula or have that thinking cap on. Takes forever, esp walking because sims stop if there is furniture blocking (pick another place then???). And in that you can only really potty train if their bladder is low enough (which makes you need to be QUICK). But yeah, toddlers CAN grow up well without having learned any toddler skills if you keep their wishes coming true. But I like to have them be taught all the skills because it looks good.
This being said, I DID potty train that toddler in TS3 the day before her birthday. However, her triplet sister had not learned to talk yet and their parents were so tired all the time that I had to speed-teach her before the clock striked 23:00.
I don’t think any toddler I’ve had in TS4 has properly learned any skills. They learn skills much easier on their own but I barely think any of them have gotten fully potty trained or fully taught to talk. But TS4 toddlers are another breed and not at all like the in the previous games.
"veronaville is so boring wahhh theres only 3 families" well obviously it's a hood all about the theme of family and loyalty. and the families themselves are extremely fleshed out. you've got ancestors upon ancestors with fascinating implications depending on what shakespearean character they're based off. what do you mean juliette capp's great great granddad is The julius caesar, dictator of rome. and his remains are just casually buried in their yard. what.
I always think toddlers are the easiest to take care of in TS3 because you can feed them on the floor, you can put them in a walker and in a playmat and their needs don’t go down as fast.
The only problem is that, if you don’t teach your toddler all the toddler traits, they grow up badly and you’re not allowed to pick the next trait for them.
So anyway I’ve been frustrated with my toddler because she takes SO long to learn to talk. And then we are at like 22:00 on her birthday and I rush for her to PLEASE learn to talk because otherwise she’ll grow up badly.
And then when she grows up I shuffle the trait anyway

Help me pick an heir for my legacy!
I have three daughters right now and one of them will be my heir... but who?
Our candidates:
Janina
Oldest child
Witch
Has an imaginary friend so people think she's a bit odd talking to thin air
Yes that is her default outfit. No I didn't create it I just didn't bother to change it when she aged up
Has a tendency to be outside playing without wearing outdoor wear so she has almost frozen to death several times.
Lavender
Oldest of the triplets
Genie
Has the sailor trait, which is completely useless because they live in Moonlight Falls
Loves the rocking horse and will play with it automatically
Was the hardest to potty train as she always seemed to go in her diaper right before her parents put her on the potty (and thus she was this close to growing up badly)
Lilac
Middlest of the triplets
Also a genie
Was the only one of her siblings to not inherit their parents hair colors
Has both the evil trait and the unlucky trait 💔
Had a hard time learning to speak as she so often got hungry or dirty mid learning - I swear I had her at like 22:00 on her birthday when she FINALLY learned
Oh, also, even if he's not an heir, let's introduce him too. The girl's brother
Ludde
(Ludde is pronounced how it's spelled)
He's also a genie and the only one to inherit the blue skin. I caught him right in his sparkly genie moment.
Who should be my heir?
Janina
Lavender
Lilac
Actually I'd like it to be Ludde even if it's against the norm
