i’m shouting this into the tumblr void because it feels most relevant here (and apologies if i’m taking shit out of context because I haven’t followed along with most of these shows as time has passed)...the CW has a history of queerbaiting. I don’t see why people still watch the shows knowing that all these writers across projects play them for fools. It’s the same cycle over and over of tip-toeing around queer imagery, subtext, or aesthetic until the fans double and start shipping LOUDLY, then gradually doing it more, and more, and being more blatant, and more obnoxious, and when fans are exhausted and tired they blame the ship’s failure on the fact that the two characters have known each other too long, the moment’s passed, one is in a relationship with a close friend of the other, etc etc... same shit, different show, always to the detriment of the actual characters and fans that back them.
