That brings us to two questions: Why does he play the clueless fool and what will make him acknowledge his feelings and, eventually, act on them?

First, it is my interpretation that what terrifies Natsu more than anything else in the world is loss. He cannot so much as entertain the possibility of losing the people he loves. Let alone accept its inevitability. It is why he adheres to a maladaptive coping style where he simply avoids difficult situations and feelings. Instead of facing the reality of Igneel's death and allowing himself to be supported by his friends, he chose to isolate himself from everyone with only Happy for company. Natsu would sooner bear the burden of the entire world than share his own with his friends.

When the situation is under control and whatever crisis they're facing is averted, he wilfully regresses to his childish ways, content with the knowledge that he wouldn't have to face his feelings or address them. That everything will be how it always has been.

For Natsu to experience growth, he will have to experience a loss from which he can neither escape nor avoid. It shouldn't be a permanent one but it needs to last a while and end with the realisation that life is too short to not be savoured in its entirety. That he needs to break out of the shell he so stubbornly clings to and let people in.

Then there are his feelings for Lucy, who, I daresay, is in an entirely different category from the rest of his friends.

His words to Lucy at the end of the manga, that they will always be together, are not so much a statement, as they are a promise, both to her and to himself for when he believed that he had lost her forever, the outcome was frightening. Much like his brother Zeref, whose whole tragedy was triggered by his inability to come to terms with losing the one he loved most, Natsu's intense devotion for Lucy can bring out the worst in him.

So, first characters are built on a lot of ideas. They are created to look a specific way and act a specific way.

Movies are another way to tell a STORY. They are not made to be mirrors of reality. The truth story's tell are supposed to be thematic. Something everyone can understand due to the common shared human experience. (Love, pain, betrayal, hope, fear) entertainment is not for agendas.

Why does this matter. Whitewashed characters changes their fundamental basics. You've just changed this character to fit something you want. That's very narcissistic. Skin color is a part of who you are because it's a part of your history and story.

Again so while a talented actor may be able to portray a character they still need the appearance. Perception is an important component in portrayal.

but your point about how agatha is considered ugly by her entire town is totally smth i overlooked. i kinda think its BETTER that annabeth's story got changed from "blonde but not dumb" to "black but not dumb" because i think its more interesting to consider how society always assumes black women are unintelligent but i can totally see where youre coming from too

Maybe it's because I started reading horror at a young age, but I learned pretty quickly that if a book is too heavy or graphic or whatever for you, it's alright to recognise those feelings, and either stop reading it entirely, or take a break. Do something that helps you calm down. Re-engage with comfort media. Give your pets a lil kiss.

Adrien is constantly shown prioritizing other people's emotions over his own. This suppression is unhealthy.

Because Adrien had has legitimate grievances with the current state of his "partnership" with Ladybug. And it shouldn't matter who's behind the mask for Adrien to open up about what he's feeling.

This is why I don't vibe with the interpretation that Chat Noir learned he doesn't need to do anything to be loved in Kuro Neko. Not because Adrien learning that is bad but because that's not what Kuro Neko feels like.

Kuro Neko feels like Adrien is suppressing his own desires and emotions in favor of whatever's best for Ladybug. Instead of what's best for himself.

Especially since we know that Ladybug has been keeping Rena Furtive secret.

@cain-wasnt-abel​ sent me an ask on my main blog ( @the-queen-of-the-dragons​ ) requesting some tips for making Miraculous OCs after they saw my post saying I was always willing to help. -lost his mother

-POS abusive not-even-a-human-being father

-constantly isolated and lonely

-severely restricted freedom

-smothered by pressures of perfectionism

i could go on.

AND YET

he is….sunshine boi. he is KIND. he is GOOD. he cares about others. he has so much freaking love to give. 

he was given the power of DESTRUCTION, which would normally be associated with darkness and evil, but he uses it only for good

in this episode he is utterly blindsided and traumatized when he sees his comatose mother and discovers that his father is the supervillain who not only has been terrorizing paris for months but who was about to akumatize the love of his life. his mind is REELING and he’s extremely vulnerable, so of course HM being the POS he is takes advantage of it to akumatize and command him (after beating him up???)

AND STILL

adrien resists the akumatization for SO long considering how much mental/emotional (and presumably physical) pain he is in 

and when he finally can’t anymore and he’s actually akumatized he STILL resists HM’s commands to destroy marinette. we’ve never seen an akuma victim do this before. he turns on HM but is also too good to find it in him to destroy his own father. and then he chooses instead to direct the power AT HIMSELF???

and even after he’s full-on “evilized” and has been alone for who knows how long and is driven mad from the looks of it, we still see moments of tenderness from him. the good sunshine boi is still very much alive in there and sometimes he can shine through the darkness and derangement.

And even in this state his #1 priority is still loving his lady and ensuring that they can be together. Hawkmoth is gone. No one is commanding him to take the miraculous. He wants to use the wish to fix what he broke and be with the love of his life.

at first glance, it’s seemingly easy for marinette to defeat chat blanc. there is really not that much actual fighting and in the end she is basically able to just walk up to him and grab the akuma. why?

Clearly, he’s going easy on her. He has been granted the power of INFINITE DESTRUCTION—like, he could destroy the ENTIRE GALAXY if he wanted to (and he threatens to do exactly that!!). But most of the time, it seems like he’s just toying with her. Because he doesn’t want to hurt her. She’s his lady and he loves her. He tries to explain. He even says please. The reason she defeats him is that he’s still so in love with her that when she gets close he pauses long enough for her to take him by surprise.

Here’s my takeaway from all this:

Adrien Agreste is the the post powerful (and messed up) akuma victim ever, both because Chat Noir is already one of the most powerful beings on earth and because the emotional trauma powering the akuma is more powerful than anything else Hawk Moth created.

Adrien Agreste is also one of the few (only?) akumas to show awareness and remorse, to be motivated by a desire for love and harmony instead of revenge or power. Despite EVERYTHING that happened to him, despite all the abuse and trauma, despite the fact that almost every aspect of his circumstances set him up to be consumed by darkness, he still resisted. His light still shone through. Without that, there would have been no hope. Ladybug could never repair the damage. 

Hawk Moth is the reason the world was destroyed by Chat Blanc.

But Adrien is the reason the world could be put back together.
