hi! i'm having trouble coming up with a special one-use power for my miraculous oc (her miraculous is a cheetah), i was thinking super speed but maybe it would make more sense to just have it as an ability that comes with transforming? idk, i could use some help on this :3

Actually, I think that’d be a perfect one-use power! You could make it so that when she uses it, it’ll last until she’s forced to detransform, plus it works with how Cheetah’s can only sprint for a limit time. Most miraculous’s don’t really have something like superspeed as just their natural change in any case. Hope this helped!

I’ve seen a ton of awesome OC’s in the tag since I’ve joined the fandom, and I think we need to spread the OC love a bit more!

This challenge is created for artists and writers to expand more on their OC, or begin to create their own! Challenges don’t have to be completed every day, this should be a fun challenge for you to complete at your own pace.

Most of this is unanswerable without major spoilers… But I’ll do my best, I guess?

Gecko appears to have wavy honey color hair and green eyes which are not a good match to her cyan-themed body suit.

Natsuru Senou appears to be a mostly nondescript boy with brown eyes and brown hair.

Gecko’s Kwami is Likk and the animal theme is Electric Blue Gecko. Gecko carries a drawing of him at all times with her.

Gecko’s weapon is an extensible hoop with extensible/retractable spokes, controlled via a mental link with whomever holds the weapon.

I have a group of ocs, a raven, a wolf, and a spider, and im having some trouble thinking up weapons for them. could you perhaps help? thank you 💕💕

Raven - As they seem to be pretty prevalent in witch-y kinds of legends, how about a staff, a wand or a sceptre?

Wolf - The wolf is one of the sacred animals of the roman god Mars. As Mars’ weapon was the spear, you could maybe use that for your character.

Spider - okay my automatic response to this is Spiderman’s webshooters, but aside from that, some cultures respect spiders or see them as helpers, so instead of a traditional weapon, your spider OC could have a shielf.

Hi, I have a Wasp OC, I'm having trouble deciding on a weapon and ability, any ideas?

Since a wasp’s sting packs a punch, maybe the weapon could be knuckle dusters? Or maybe the weapon could be a fan, since that would be similar to the beating of a wasp’s wings.

As for the ability, if your OC can’t already fly, then perhaps this ability could allow them to temporarily have the ability of flight. Alternatively, (if you wanted to go down a more marvel-esque route), their ability could be temporarily shrinking.

Hi! I really enjoyed your Making Miraculous OC guide. I've noticed that the weapons used by characters aren't exactly weapons, as seen with LB's yo-yo, CN's staff (isnt used to inflict serious damage). The character I am designing is the Cameleon, but I'm not sure what he should have as a weapon. My best idea was a blow dart gun, to fit with his stealth mechanic and ability to cling to walls, but the weapon seems too 'mature' with the nature of the current weapons. Any ideas?

I think a blow dart gun sounds really interesting, but if you feel like it’s too mature, then why don’t you think more along the lines of a spitball gun? You could keep the mechanics but just switch up how it inflicts damage

Hi there, I was curious on your thoughts on kwami's based on dinosaurs? I want to do it but I would like to hear your opinion :)

Hey! While I personally wouldn’t do it as it is something not seen on the show, don’t let that stop you at all! It’s an interesting idea, and since only a handful of animals have kwami counterparts, then there is nothing saying that there can’t be a dinosaur kwami! Besides, dinosaurs are animals. You have all the creative space you need, and if we stuck strictly to what is shown on the show, then we wouldn’t have the countless different kwami OCs that have been created.

Hi, I need help on an oc, I need help deciding the animal for my oc. I narrowed my animals down to an artic fox or a butterly. If my it were a butterfly she would have a wip as a weapon, her ability would be something close to healing, but I cant figure out the wings. If the oc is an artic fox I'm not sure what her weapon would be, for sure though her ability would be illusions, the thing is though that they already have a character with illusions and I don't want to copy, please help

For the butterfly, the wings could maybe look somewhat similar to a skipper butterfly, or another species of butterfly that can fly quickly (so it whips around lol get it). The wings could either be for decoration or be used for short bursts of time.

The weapon of the fox could perhaps be a tessen (a Japanese war fan) as foxes, or kitsune, appear a fair bit in Japanese folklore. Alternatively, perhaps a wand or a staff, seeing as foxes were also sometimes thought to be ‘witch animals’ and your OC has the ability to creature illusions. Even though the show already has a character that can creature illusions, don’t let that stop you from having the ability to create illusions. Unlike Volpina, have the illusions be temporary, or only be used under certain conditions.

I gave my OC's hero side the name "Mighty Eagle'. Should I be worried about complications, as that happens to be the name of an Angry Bird from the mobile game of the same name? Additionally, what's your opinion on what goes into choosing your Miraculous hero's weapon (Mighty Eagle's is a talon-styled dual-bladed sword)?

When choosing a weapon, I personally think you should either choose it as a physical representation of the character’s personality, or do research into the background of the animal they represent and see if that animal has any ties to specific weaponry or a god that uses a specific weapon (something along those lines).

As for the name ‘Mighty Eagle’, I don’t think there will be any problem with it.

Hello, sorry for the late reply! And just because I recommended using real animals doesn't mean that should stop you from using a unicorn! As for name suggestions, since the first western literature that mentions unicorns is from the Greek doctor Ctesias, how about a play on that name? Something like Teesi, Siias, Ctees or Essia? Hi! what do you think of a miracusona thats a canary? She'd have strap on wings that she can glide with (but no actual flying) and her special ability would be summoning a small group of other canaries, to help with whatever shes doing, with her voice (since canaries are associated with singing) I'm relatively new to the miraculous fandom and I don't want this character to seem mary sue or anything...

Hi! Sorry for the late reply, but to answer you, I think that sounds great! It's a unique idea, and I for one really like it!

do you have any tips on naming the superhero identity of the Miraculous holder? and do you have any more tips on choosing the weapons?

In the show so far, all the miraculous holders literally just have the name of the animal they embody. I personally tend to go for the name of the animal plus the main colour of the animal, though you could also swap the colour for a different kind of adjective.

Weapon wise, maybe look into the origin of your character? Perhaps you could use a weapon from that character’s country of origin. You could also go for something like a toy or an instrument, seeing as the weapons on the show so far have actually been pretty harmless.

in your "Ayla’s Guide to Making Miraculous Ladybug OCs" you advise to stay away from canon Miraculouses. I have a small question about that? One of the canon ones is the black cat, being Chat Noir. You suggested thinking about turning your favourite animal into a superhero, but what if your favourite animal was something like a Panther? - The Panther is not my favourite animal, but I thought I'd ask in case, because it's an animal I'm fond of.

well, Chat Noir is a black house-cat for starters, whereas a panther is a wildcat. Though I do advise staying away from canon miraculouses, you shouldn’t let that stop you from creating a miraculous of any animal of your choice - after all, there are also many subspecies of animals too. If you have your heart set on a certain animal, then go for it!

Akumasona/Miracusona Week 2! August 22-26, 2016. BOTH artists and writers!

Hi, all! After the popularity of the first prompt week, we said we’d run a second one! Here’s the official announcement! We wanted to get the ball rolling before the school season starts, but we realize that a lot of Miraculers might be too busy to post right away. Even though this says it’s a “week”, just have fun with the prompts and let us know what you finish!

As with last time, please tag your posts with aksonawk2, and/or tag us directly @akumasonas. If you have any questions or comments, the ask box is open! :)

And with that, on to the prompts! Now that we all finished our designs in Week 1, Week 2 is set up to be a little more action-orientated. ;D

Day 1. Kwami/Akuma Interaction - For miracusonas: How do your character and their kwami get along? Do they argue? Would they play games together, or is one/both of them all business? - For akumasonas: What was your character doing when they got possessed? Did they see the akuma coming? This can be a reaction to Hawk Moth in their heads, too, instead of just the butterfly.

Day 2. Transformation Sequence - Are there sparkles? Lightning? Smoke? Is it all at once or in stages?

Day 3. Special Powers - Some people described these when they created their characters. Now it’s time to expand on that a bit. Show us your miracusona’s / akumasona’s special power! Does it make their weapon glow? How does it capture/enslave civilians?

Day 4. Canon Character Interaction - Which character from Miraculous would your character talk to? What would the interaction be like? Or, maybe, just have them talking/doing something with YOUR favorite character!

Day 5.Alternate Universe - The fandom is nearly a year old now and we’ve come up with a lot of fantastic AU’s (alternate universes). Design/describe your character as part of one of them! Would they break dance or be in a band? What would they be like as a different gender? Or if they swapped kwami with their partner? What if your miracusona was akumatized? Or if your akuma-victum ended up with the hero’s miraculous?

And those are the prompts! Do as many as you’re inspired to do and remember to tag us (# aksonawk2 and/or @akumasonas) so that we can share it, too! :D Have fun!!!
