A big softie. ( A Bristle Drabble. (Silly) )
His Mistress was absent, doing her duty as a Warlord, to lead and prepare for the coming war. Little could be done to keep this gargantuan Tundra boar occupied, with no battle to carry his Mistress into battle, he quickly fell bored. However, the Avarosans always piqued his interest and curiosity, and this was an ample opportunity to seek out the many questions that formed in his animalistic mind. What were they doing? What food do they make? Are they as friendly as the Winterâs Claw? What about his Mistressâs close companion? The Queen?
Bristle set out from his pen, as it was always open for him to wander, Sejuani never once locked up her beloved boar, for she thought he had just as much freedom to make his own choices as she did.
Through the village of the Rakelstake hold did Bristle wander, many of the villagers were terrified when they saw a near hut sized boar wander aimlessly between the houses and hovels. There was no grand view of snow this far south, but Bristle found comfort in the warmer climate and simpler terrain.
His dread gaze found its way to a most familiar figure however, in the distance a caped woman stood conversing with a trader of her people. It was the Queen herself who spent time with the commoners of her people, a generous woman indeed, comforting the sick, aiding the poor and encouraging the weary, Bristle understood the differences between the tribes were grand, that much was clear.
His Mistress, the Winterâs Wrath would not be as kind as Ashe portrayed herself to be. If a tribesman was becoming a liability and hinderance towards the survival of the tribe, they would have to be dealt with. Either they would leave the tribe, or be forced, one could not show any mercy in the frozen wastes of the North.
Bristle, came to like Ashe.
With the heavy feet, Bristle carried himself towards Ashe. The Queen herself sighed at the approaching boar, believing Sejuani would be seated upon the beast only to gloat at the Queen for being among her peasants.
âSejuani, what are you doing here? Arenât you suppose to be making plans for your campaign against the Ice Witch?â
Ashe soon realized that she was speaking to the Warlord who absent, feeling the snout of the boar bump into her backside, she soon turned to face the large beast alone.
âSnort Snort Snort. ^.^.â
It was a joyful few grunts that rumbled from the boar, Bristle would never approach someone as gentle as this, other than his own Mistress. But he knew how Ashe meant for Sejuani, and would do nothing to her other than protecting her from harm.
âBristle? What are you doing here? And where is Sejuani?â
The inquiries did not slip by the boar, he merely turned to have his large flank face the Queen as he lowered his back to invite Ashe onto his saddled back. Head turned to look upon her.
Saying Ashe was not anxious about seating herself upon Sejuaniâs beast companion would be a lie, but Bristle himself was inviting her on, and who was she to deny such a generous offer?
Ashe climbed onto his back, Bristle rose back to his full height and lifted the Queen further up than any horse could ever carry her. None could ever reach over the womanâs height now.
âTake me to Sejuani. She must know what you have been up to, you big furball you.â
Ashe gently let her deft fingers brush through the dark fur of the boar, a sigh slowly fell from her lips as she caught hold of the boar.
A smirk drawn upon her lips, Ashe was feeling slightly rebellious it seem, and Bristle? He gave speed, and it was no galloping horse, the sound of a tundra boar in full speed would be that of thunder ravaging the ground itself. An earthquake.
Ashe have never before been so entertained by a simple ride. And Bristle easily came to like Ashe from that day forward.
