I've been thinking of a MCSM x Iron Lung au. I haven't thought it out all that much since it just popped into my mind today, but I do have some ideas. :3
Eden is full of people from The Overworld while the C.O.I is full of people from The Underneath. I haven't thought of new names to replace Eden or C.O.I, but I think they fit... mostly. Actually, I don't think it's all the necessary.
Simon would be Jesse (obviously since he's the main character). Specifically Navy Suspenders. Why? I don't really know. He just fits Simon's vibe the best out of all the Jesses.
Ava would be Binta. Why? Well, she's the best candidate I can think of. I thought of Petra, but she's from The Overworld, not The Underneath. I thought of Xara, but I saw an explanation on YouTube over the movie where the guy says that a God had peeked into their universe. Because the God wasn't all-knowing in their universe, it tried to twist everything into what it is familiar with, causing The Quiet Rapture. So, with that in mind, since Admins are kind of similar to a God, I crossed out Xara.
If you have any ideas, I would like to hear them!
That's such a cool idea!!!! I think Binta as Ava fits very well, since she is a figure of authority to the people of the Underneath (Fred's Keep at least), similarly to Ava. I also think that Binta is similar to Ava in that she is willing to do anything for the greater good of her people. She would be very uncomfortable with it, I think, but ultimately she tries her best to do what she thinks will help her cause.
Romeo as the god who looks through the keyhole is AWESOME. He definitely has the arrogance to try to warp reality according to how he views it. Although she's from the Underneath, maybe Xara could be the leader of Eden, turned mortal by Romeo and trying to regain godhood? I'm not really sure!
Ooh, this kind of goes against MCSM canon (but this is an AU so whatever lmao), but what if Fred and Xara were both turned mortal by Romeo because he wanted to twist reality according to his perception, and they disagreed? And, now, they lead the C.O.I. and Eden, respectively, trying to undo the Rapture/regain their godhood in different ways! It's definitely a more angsty interpretation of their relationship, since in canon, Xara and Fred were on good terms, but it's just an idea!!
This was super fun to think about. If you're still attached to/working on the idea (I'm SO sorry it took me so long to respond, btw), I would totally love it if you shared any other ideas you have! No pressure though :)) Thank you very much for this ask!
