Qifrey knew he was thinking his words through, long accustomed to Beldaruit’s tells. His professor would give in— he knew it. A forlorn look could be seen on his face. “This is because of your third test, isn't it?" he uttered.

if Qifrey knew Beldaruit well, then Beldaruit knew him just the same. He was the only person he had in this damned hall after all.
