Outlander boss says a movie is possible - but conditions have to be just right

The journey of Outlander is coming to a close with the final season aligning with the events of the ninth book in the series. But what comes next for this beloved show? Well, there's a possibility of a cinematic venture to bring to life the events of the upcoming tenth book. The show's writers, executive producers Matthew B. Roberts and Maril Davis, along with their team, will craft a finale that aligns with their unique interpretation of the saga. This opens the door for an Outlander-themed movie, but it all depends on whether the entire cast and crew are on board.

The seventh season of Outlander delved into the events of Written in My Own Heart's Blood, and the latter half of the final season will explore the tales from Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone. While Diana Gabaldon's ninth book doesn't tie up all the loose ends, it's possible that the series' scriptwriters could create a fitting conclusion. However, a film could also achieve this goal.

In an interview with Radio Times, Maril Davis expressed her excitement about the idea of an Outlander film. She mentioned that if the writers, Sony, Starz, and the cast were all on board, it could be a possibility in the future
