Camila really did care for Luz, she really did defending her in every situation. The reason she sent Luz to that camp was she knew exactly what it’s like to be an outcast as she was bullied in high school

It really adds a layer to the fact that Camila is a good Mother. She was never mad at Luz ever, and despite wanting her daughter to stay she changed her mind when she knew what needed to be done

When her husband was sick she stayed strong as a single Mother and raised her kid the best way she could

She took in five traumatized kids fed, protected, and helped for months making sure to understand how witches work and actively dived into that swamp to save Hunter

She is an avid supporter of her bi daughter, and her lesbian gf. She is willing to kick ass for her kids, she was never hurt at Vee and saw her as another daughter. And now even though she’s a human without the skills Luz has she’s willing to kick ass and protect her family because she can

As someone who struggles with depression, and hides it well most of the time behind a facade of smiles and normalcy, I really did love seeing how Luz was realistically portrayed with depression in this episode. She’s tired that there’s just not room for much else in her head, but the depression in addition to her self-hatred.
