Shifter things: sensitive senses, dreams, m shifts, trying to p shift and not getting as far as I like, non human thinking, noticing every detail or hypervigilance, biting my mate, and more biting my mate. Constantly wanting meat. Random itchiness when trying to shift. Tingling sensations throughout the body during meditation. Being tired of humans sometimes. Not understanding humans sometimes.

Coyote therian things: mshifts, suddenly having a tail that's not there, again biting, hyperactive, adventurous, trickster like. Canine phantom shifts, and dreams.

Succubus Otherkin things: having wings that aren't there, dominance, confidence, mshifts to the point my personality completely changes, phantom shifts in general, seduction, people being attracted to me for some odd reason, strangers telling me their life stories, drawing people in, teasing, and flirtatious.

Do not rush anything. This path that has been laid out for you to travel should not be rushed. Take your time figuring out who and what you are. As well as what it means to you personally.

Make a list of possibilities of what you could be and then try to narrow things down. You can narrow these things down through Astral, meditation, dreams, any mental shifts, and divination.

It's okay if you have to try again. If you got what you are wrong and have to try again to figure it out that's okay. We make mistakes. We jump the gun sometimes. It's going to happen. Do not beat yourself up for it.

Be kind and respectful to all nonhuman types of people. Your experience is not their experience and vice versa. You don't have to like or agree with everyone. However, it is important not to shut down, push others away, exclude others, etc just because of you not agreeing. You wouldn't want someone doing it to you would you?

It is okay that your experiences are different from others. You don't m-shift frequently? Valid. You haven't fully shifted yet? Valid. You have only physically shifted involuntarily? Valid. You don't have many phantom shifts? VALID. Your experience is personal to you and you alone. You aren't always going to have the same symptoms or experiences as everyone else.

It's okay to not be okay sometimes. It's okay to get frustrated with progress not being made or not happening the way you would want/like it to. Just don't let that convince you that you haven't made any progress at all. Things will happen when they want to. Slow down and breathe.

It's okay to take a break. Feeling exhausted? Maybe worn out from the community, spiritually, or life is being a bit hard on you? Take a break. It's okay.

I believe my in previous lives I was also nonhuman in each of them. That my soul wasn't human at all. I experience mental shifts from them all as well. Not only does this qualify as a type of therian/otherkin scenario but I genuinely believe that back then what I was, had been genuinely real. So it's a mixture of being Nonhuman and therian/otherkin in a way.

How did I find all information regarding each past life? Through dreams, divination, flashbacks, and mental shifts. The divination tool used specifically was Tarot in order to get into the nitty gritty of it. So now I will list my lives with general knowledge I know with each of them.

Firstly, we have Elio. He was a vampire whose name means sun. He had money, was well liked, didn't really have a gender, and protected humans. Rather he was protective of humans. He was a kind man.

Secondly, we have Stella. An evolved siren. Like anything else in life mythical creatures evolve too. A siren that no longer had wings and was blending in with society. A siren who sang and charmed men. Men would flock and follow her. Not in total favor of people or humans. Stella translating to Star.

Hello! Welcome to my tedtalk. Before I continue I would like to say that I am not an expert. I am only speaking from my personal experience with things. I am not speaking for the community as whole. This is what I personally go through. Thank you for making it this far. Let's talk about it now.

There are two parts or rather two sides of thinking as a shifter. The more humane side and the animal side. There are days I feel connected to my animal side, my shifter side. Then there are days I feel less connected and more "human" like. I've been told by other shifters this is common in some of us.

What are the differences between the two? You may be wondering that. When I am more humane I am more into being around humans. I care more about them. I feel my emotions more intensely. I overthink everything. Doubt becomes prevalent. I "blend" in easier. I can empathize easier with humans.

When I am more in tune with my animal side I feel disconnected from humans. I am more sympathetic than empathetic towards people. I empathize more with the shifter or nonhuman community. I feel urges to be out in nature. I experience mental shifts more frequently. During those shifts it's hard to talk or verbalize. I whimper, I paw at things, I bite, howl, and growl. I think more like an animal. Less like a person. I'm more in tune with it spiritually as well. I long to be around others like myself too. A mindset where I don't act on thoughts but rather survival.

Here is a simple guide to divination. Firstly, I want to say I am not an expert. What information I give is based on what I know and personal experience.

Tarot- It can be used for more specific questions or if you are looking for a more detailed answer.

Oracle- It gives more general advice and talks about things in general or as a whole.

Yes/No coins- very simple approach on asking questions. Is a good start if you are curious about divination or want to just dip your toes into it.

Runes- A great tool for divination. Can be a little hard to learn at first. Is a very good way to communicate with the universe.

I personally use oracle the most. If you want general advice for the week, a relationship, a friendship, etc. Then Oracle is a great way to do that. When I need more specifics about things I take out my Tarot deck. Tarot has no problem pointing things out to you. (Sometimes in a very blunt way)

The Yes/No coins can be helpful for quick and simple questions. Runes are something I haven't tried but are very popular and can be very guiding and helpful from what I have seen and heard.

THE GENERAL ADVICE:

(Keep in mind this is just based on my personal experiences. Everyone's experiences are different and in their own way valid as no two people are alike.)

Online packs on kik when I was first discovering what and who I was. Ah yes those were chaotic days and many cultish packs were online still back then. Was it always good? No absolutely not. However, I did get to make one very good friend who I'm still in touch with today. Overall not the greatest experiences in the community as a whole though.

Online packs on discord. Again we run into the problem of "is this a safe environment to be in or not?" Which is understandable as strangers online are unpredictable as they are strangers. At the same time there are a few good packs out there. My advice is caution.

Going to a doctor for medical rule out. I made sure to see a doctor regarding the aches and pains I experienced first. I wanted to rule out anything medical it could be caused by. No doctor could explain it. I am perfectly physically healthy.

Researching wolves, werewolves, mythology, everything. I want to continue gain more knowledge and learn and be open to information whether I believe that information or not. Listening is vital. Keeping an open mind is important.

Being judgmental and learning from it. Many times I see people shut down over certain topics. I used to be one of them and noped right out of there. Would not hear what others experience or have to say. Honestly, wish I had been more kinder to folks back in those stubborn headed days. Nowadays I have morals and I try to listen to the best of my capabilities even if I might not agree. Kindness is Important to have in this community and I think a lot of us forget it as we aren't keen on trusting others easily or being open to new things.

Thinking poorly of others beliefs and experiences whether it was them claiming to be a real vampire or cat shifter or therian/otherkin. I was not great in my high school days and I'll own that. I didn't think you could be both shifter and otherkin/therian or that otherkin/therian experiences were BS. I thought the only type of shifters were wolves. I thought many things back then. Hindsight is 20/20. Being kind again goes a long way even if you don't believe or agree with it and if you are open to learning more than there's a lot to learn.

Ignoring red flags and that can cost you your mental health. We'd have people in online packs say they can turn a person just have to meet them, that they can teach you how to shift, that they have "alpha blood" and are far superior, etc. Whatever they said in the past I ignored it as back then I didn't know what I currently know now. Now there are actually natural born leaders but saying you are superior and better than everyone else is overly confident is not great as people change constantly. Evolve constantly, learn, and adapt better and better over time.

If someone approaches you saying they can teach you how to shift immediately. Avoid them.

If someone tries to force you into their pack. Avoid them.

If someone claims they know everything. Avoid them definitely. No one knows every single thing. We are constantly evolving and growing and learning.

If someone claims they can turn you and want to meet up. Run. Don't listen or answer. I know it's hard to ignore such a claim but please ignore it for your physical safety.

Avoid cults. Just straight up avoid.

Don't believe everything you hear. There is a lot of misinformation at times.

It's okay if it takes a while for you to figure things out.

Treat others how you would like to be treated too. Kindness is important.

What is a shifter you ask? It is someone who can shift into an animal or something nonhuman.

What is it like being a shifter? It is complicated. Between the spreading of misinformation and unhealthy individuals in the shifter community it is hard to trust others and you must basically go with your gut when it comes to believing things you're told. There are a ton of debates at times too. Lots of unnecessary pressure to fit into a pack or even a box of what everyone tells you a shifter is supposed to be.

Confidence, courage, and empathy are important to have as a shifter at times. At least that's what I noticed. There are a ton of different types of opinions to seed through. You need to have a good back bone sometimes when dealing with others. This path can be lonesome. This path can be tiring depending on where you are at emotionally.

Physically what is it like? It's hard to give a good answer. Everyone's experience and pain tolerance is different. For me I haven't fully shifted. I have gone through the beginning stages of shifting so far. Muscles moving and twitching, bone aches, canine aches, pressure in my head, feeling intense emotions, etc. I do not experience aches and pains for the most part when I am not trying to shift. I also can tell the difference between a normal headache and what it physically feels like trying to physically shift.

Emotionally and Mentally what happens? There is mental shifting, yes. There's also a call to the wild. To be in nature and live out there. For me specifically I am a coastal wolf. I feel a call to the coast when it comes to nature. To live near the ocean and be with the animals. There's sudden feelings of wishing to be with others like myself or sometimes wishing to be alone. Many emotions come along with being a shifter. Confusion, sadness, loneliness, excitement, happiness, etc.

Hello! I am Oliver and I am both therian and otherkin. I am 24 and been in the communities for a while. Here are my kin types and beliefs.

Wolf kin- a black wolf with golden yellow eyes in a past life named Oriana.

Vampire kin- a vampire named Elio in a past life.

Siren kin- a siren in a past life named Stella.

Coyote kin- a coyote in this current life named Oliver.

Succubus kin- a succubus named Phoenix in this current life.

Each life and kin type Iisted is unique and has me experience different things. Both wolf kin and coyote kin I experience similar things. Howling, whimpering, pawing, biting, and more. As a vampire I feel the need to taste blood, drained energy during daylight hours, empath abilities, etc.

Siren draws me to the ocean, ocean life, and water. I feel a deep calling to the sea. Succubus makes me feel overly confident. I must seduce, dominate, tease, etc. My energy is very chaotic at timed cause of it. Very impulsive.

First, there is dream interpretations. Have you become a wolf in your dream? Perhaps, you bite someone like a vampire? Whatever the case may be you want to take note of your dreams and what they could mean. I suggest keeping a dream journal. Write down whatever details you can remember. No detail is too silly or anything. Every detail counts and matters.

Secondly, there are guided meditations. You can easily find therian or otherkin meditations on places like YouTube. They can help you connect to something deep within yourself. There are also past life meditations available too. Maybe part of your kin type is in a past life you were a dog or cat or wolf. You never know until you try.

Thirdly, there are regular meditations. Clearing your mind completely (as best you can) and finding out what names or animal or mystical being that you could be.

Next, there is divination. (If you're open to it) You can use tarot, oracle, etc. Asking questions and advice on what you are or could be. Helping guide you into the right direction.

Lastly, there is research. Probably one of the most important ones. I always recommend it. Research different species. Try finding what makes you curious or pulls you towards it. Make a list of possibilities of what you could be and then try to narrow it down to the best of your abilities.
