“The blazer is from One Vintage and the pants were $13 thrifted from Garage Sale Vintage. My inspiration changes every day –and my closet reflects that. I’m always drawn to statement pieces. I’m always on the hunt for things that verge on costumey, or they seem like a staples from afar and get a little unhinged up close. I love color and clashing patterns, so I tend to steer clear of black or white unless the silhouette is out of this world. I once read that Sarah Sherman leaves her clothes in piles on the floor, and seeing them side-by-side in unexpected pairings helps her come up with outfits. So now at least twice a year I dump everything on the floor and start mixing things together. It’s always the thing that gets me out of a wardrobe slump.”

”I’m wearing a Coogi cardigan, BDG men’s leather shorts, and Jeffrey Campbell boots. I love early 90s NYC streetwear as well as luxurious fabrics: fur, leather, lace, gold. Taking boyish clothes and making them sexy and fem is where I like to play with my style.”

“I’m wearing Sam Edelman boots, Akira balloon pant, H&M sweater, vintage leather jacket, vintage lucite purse, and vintage silk scarf. I wasn’t feeling my best, so I went for a bright, cheerful orange to lift my spirits. It’s amazing how clothing can completely transform how you feel!”

“I’m wearing Celia B dress, Studio Arik necklace that I extended with some carabiners and license plate attachments, Urban Expressions bag, boots are from Cavenders in Texas that I got when I was 15 years old. My style over the last year has had a bit of a symbiotic relationship with the paintings I make – vibrant color and lots of bold patterns. I did a body of work about growing up in Texas recently and it made me fall back in love with wearing cowboy boots with everything. I’m enjoying letting my style become apart of my artistic practice and in turn letting my artistic practice be inspired by my style. It’s helped me feel really in tune with myself.”

“I’m wearing vintage lace curler-cover bonnet and bed jacket, a vintage silk skirt from my Bulgarian lace teacher Bistra Pisancheva, a belt from the lingerie brand Bordelle, and the Kedwardian shoes by American Duchess. I draw on so many different sources of inspiration – in fashion, through my historial lace research, and from international travels. My husband calls my style "Harajuku rumspringa" due to my upbringing between Pennsylvania and Tokyo, as I descend from Amish grandparents who became Mennonite missionaries to Japan in the 1950s. I'd say that is the most accurate summary of my range of influences!”

“I’m wearing a Cos knit top, MDCoutureNY handmade/painted skirt, and Staud boots. My style is inspired by all our amazing vendors at the Normal NYC show and staying true to being intentional.”

“I’m wearing a Chloé vintage archival piece from Phoebe Philo, a Bulgari watch, vintage pants I picked up in London, and a top from an independent designer I discovered in the LES. I usually get inspired by everything around me – art, people-watching, or even a single accessory. Most often, I start with a bag and then build the rest of my look around it.”

“I’m wearing my traditional Diné outfit, from my handmade moccasins to my velveteen embellished top. Jewelry is made by my grandpa. My style reflects the Navajo Nation’s influence on me and my upbringing, mixed with the edge of avant-garde fashion — it’s a blend of heritage and forward-thinking style.”

“Everything’s thrifted except the bag (eBay find) and fedora from City Hats. I’m always trying to blend different styles to keep it fresh, but I’m heavily inspired by 70s vintage and Harlem Renaissance.”
