july 2026 update: i'm not dropping anything. i love everything i have going. i welcome anyone who wants to become a potential new long-term writing partner, but real life is a mess and activity is sparse.

anyway. there's something deeply intimate about a character being mentally unwell and/or looking like shit ( crashing out, sick, wounded, actually rugged up , or just messy from not having left the bed in ages bc they're not mentally well ) being taken care of by someone who loves them ... there's truly just.. something about it... something about looking like shit and having someone cradling your head... or helping you shower and get dressed... or cooking for you... something about being not being well / being at your worst and being handled with tenderness and care........ oh im chewing at the bars of my enclosure oh it's boo boo the fool hours

in 2026, seeing adhd / autism / ocd / any mental or neurological disorder still being approached solely in quirky ways is........ something.

#dont get me wrong maria (in this case bc she's the only one i can talk about for now) can be brilliant in her own way #she also cant cook without a timer #because if she does and leaves the kitchen she may forget she started cooking and potentially start a fire.#which has happened. multiple times.#and i don't think that's a quirk as much as a literal hazard #it's the same with heating up food in the microwave #she literally just forgets she puts it there if she goes in another room and starts doing smth else #i dont think i ever did a deep dive on her adhd (i have more research to do) but i should do that one day

realising it's been a while since i sat down and answered character and ship development questions with the deeply deranged unnecessary level of detail only a Totally Very Normal person can muster. need to fix that.

i'm the opposite definition of a prude and i've engaged (and still engage) with a lot of mindless / fun filth but i' m so tired of sex in stories for the most part being. idk. detached from characters personalities and stories. i'm starved for nsfw/character content about sex that goes beyond kink etc. about sex not being just about sex and being used as a way to explore characters, and as a narrative shorthand for vulnerability/trust and or the state of the dynamic between the characters.

#sometimes i want to talk nsfw so so much but like actually deep dive into it #how characters approach sex and intimacy and if it's healthy or not and why

also. i just need more stories of couples standing by each other and men yearning and couples being HARD on each other's teams and having a zero tolenace policy for people messing with their s/o or relationship. need more of it so bad it makes me look stupid.

extremely niche but every other week i think about the plot of storyscape's titanic and i go insane and this was such a niche game i have no one to talk to about it but i think about those characters so often.

the opening scene being of adele in a jail cell after having been arrested due to partaking in suffragette related activities. matteo being of mixed ancestry being descriminated and living in poverty his whole life until rich kid blonde and white james spotted how useful he could be and made him his vallet and matteo feeling like he owns james something and telling himself it's because he's social climbing but there's so much more to it - gratitude, resentment, dependency, shame, ambition, and the horrible awareness that james both helped him and owns part of him because of it. adele changing her name so it sounds more anglicized. the choice you make as the player when her sister tells her she founds people from their culture (lebanon) and she wants to risk staying and potentially dying with them than being saved. zetta struggling with the fact that she's an actress getting old and hiding her queerness. charlie resenting adele if we, the player, choose to save him. + mentions of actual real life historical events like maetto's grandfather having fought in one of the boer wars. the themes of assimilation vs selfhood. sisterly bonds. identity supression. social control. immigration. class inequality. gender expectations. no 'perfect' endings. realistic romance. characters actually existing and having identies outside of the romance. all in a highly contained setting that involves a massive historical tragedy.

[ overcommit ] one leans in with way too much enthusiasm and almost topples them both

[ eye contact ] one opens their eyes mid-kiss, panics at the eye contact, and immediately turns away

[ timing ] both lean in, both pull back, both try again at the exact wrong moment

[ hair in mouth ] loose hair gets caught between lips, forcing an awkward untangling

[ balance ] one stumbles forward during the kiss, arms flailing before catching themselves

[ nose ] the kiss lands squarely on the nose instead, followed by frozen confusion

[ smile ] a grin breaks the kiss before it even starts, ruining the moment

[ cheek ] nerves redirect the kiss to the cheek at the last second

[ laugh ] a laugh slips out mid-kiss and derails everything

[ hand ] a hand reaches for the other’s waist and misses completely, grabbing empty air

[ hair ] fingers tangle in hair unintentionally, followed by frantic untangling

[ wrong angle ] they tilt the same direction twice in a row and just give up for a second

personally, if i were a jujutsu sorcerer, i’d expense everything. my shirt got ruined (small tear, easily mendable) i’m expensing it and pretending it was more expensive than it actually was. blood on my shoes? expensing the cleaning. ate something while on the clock? my phone broke during a fight? expensed. expensed.
