" did he hurt you ? don't lie to me, either. "

tear stained cheeks,     smudged mascara.     “ i — ”     breath catches in the back of her throat.     “ it doesn’t matter. ”

"cairo," arthur calls out, looking at his phone as he slowly trails towards the bedroom. he'd lost his favorite sweater and he'd hoped she knew where it was. he walks in, and eyes slowly lift, before he's stopped in his tracks. "cairo." she's laid before him, snuggled up in bed, absolutely, downright breathtaking. she's not even in anything special, but he can say he's found his sweater.

her name has her lifting her eyes away from the scattering paper around his bed.     she’d made herself quite at home recently,     and pilfered his closet eagerly every chance she got.     she’s buried under a mountain of blankets and papers,     wearing his sweater.    a sleepy smile stretching across her features as he enters the room. “ hi baby, ”     she coos softly.

audrey forces a smile , the corners of her eyes crinkling the way they always did when she scrunched up her face . arms wrap around his neck loosely , having to stand on her toes to reach an even height . " i am not yelling . i was just talking . " she whispers harshly , eyes rolling . " happy now ? "

“ sure,     sure. ”     he muses,     his own hands curving around her waist,     settling at the base of her spine.     “ talking loudly,     you know the way that you do. ”     he’s teasing,     it lacks the amunition to be hurtful as he guides her closer.     “ so happy,     so,     so happy. ”

Dean accommodates her with ease by spreading his legs, and soon enough large hands take hold of both thighs with gentle embrace. Keeping her close, and grounding himself all at once. He might not admit it, but she was doing wonders already on the doctor front and the pulsating throb in his cheek was starting to dull. At least in favor of his attention being drawn elsewhere. Head then dips into a slight nod of understanding, careful to not jostle her hand too much before he murmurs a soft 'yeah, sounds good' beneath his breath. She didn't move however and Dean made no attempt to let go either. Like magnets, they were drawn together. "Or," he started briefly, lips turning up into something more than a smirk and less than a proper smile, "could always kiss it better."

his hands heat the skin of her thighs,     sending the warmth to her stomach as she watches him.     “ you’re hurt. ”     she mutters,     lips quirking slightly as if trying to hide the smile as her fingers trace features until they settle at the back of his neck.     “ and i’m pretty sure that me kissing it better,     dean,     is going to make things worse,     not better. ”     she’s attempting to scold,     he’s hurt,     whatever he’s trying to do shouldn’t be done,     however she’s not pulling away,     she doesn’t want to pull away.

"Mmm good, prove it." Being here, with him, was something that she didn't have to be doing. He wasn't paying her like the older men who frequented her company. In fact there was absolutely nothing in it for her at all monetarily or otherwise. Yet she kept coming back. Time and time again between the men that kept her and so far it was working. Friends first, benefits second, right? Raya hummed a pleased tone and her free hand teased at the hem of his shirt. There was no rush here, but God she couldn't wait until clothes were coming off.

“ you challenging me ? ”     he chuckles deep in his throat,     his own lashes brushing her temple as he mouths along her jaw,      a hand sliding a slow path against her until he can brush her hair back out of his way.     the thing with raya was complicated.     it was never meant to be more than this,       and he doesn’t know when it stopped being just this.     “ because you’ll lose,     you know ? ”

Shoulders eventually shrugged at her words and he simply let the truth slip, just like she wanted. It wasn't perfect perhaps, but it was real. "I just think there's something here you know. Cliche as that sounds." His head shakes a little with mild disbelief at the sound of his own voice and then he continues, "Maybe I'm crazy but you just do something to me." Taking a leap of faith, the man chose this moment to take a step closer. He itched to reach out and touch her, but hands remained at his sides. A pointed stab at respectability. He was trying. "I'm not saying I can give you the world or anything but I am saying I could try. - If you'd let me. Plus ... " He couldn't help himself, "You're hot as hell."

the playful smile stills on her lips,     she’d not expected the truth,     and perhaps it’s the casual sincerity in his tone that has her pausing for a moment.     something here.     the words sound nonchalant in their meaning but there’s a heaviness that now settles over her as she watches him.     the banter,     thick with tension has now settled into another tense state,     this one with a deeper meaning than just simple attraction.     he was a man that made her dance on the edge,     to stay just inside the neat little square they’d drawn,     because she knew what to expect then.      maybe that’s why she hasn’t allowed him further,     in fear of that being it.     that she’d be discarded once the trophy was awarded.     metaphorically.      “ i do something to you ? ”     tongue presses into lower lip,     wetting the now dry skin.  she watches him,     in the way you watch a car crash,     unable to look away,     mesmerised slightly by the way he moved,    her eyes flicker downwards,      watching the way he moves closer and she has the odd urge to reach out an touch him,      so much so that her fingers twitch slightly and she has clench them at her sides in order not to reach.     “ you want to try to give me the world ? ”     she repeats another time,     lips twisted slightly,     a sweetness against glossed lips.     “ you surprisingly did better than what i expected of you. ”
