Contrary to the belief of their members, Heechul never loved Hangeng. Not in the way they all think. Yes, Hangeng is near and dear to Heechul’s heart but never to the point of I-need-you-so-I-can-exist. Hangeng is merely a fixture in Heechul’s life that is appreciated instead of needed, a provider of food, and one who runs errands with little complaint.

So he doesn’t understand why Jungsu is looking at him with red-rimmed eyes, reaching out an arm to comfort when Heechul is perfectly fine, Jungsu, why are you so emotional? And he stares at the dorm’s hastily put together meal and wonders why the hunger that was panging in his stomach the moment before had disappeared at the sight of takeout Chinese.

He locks himself in his room to get away from the care-worn sympathizing glances of the others. Heechul doesn’t like sympathy, or tears, or hugs. And honestly, it should be Siwon that they should be directing their gazes at, isn’t it?
