In a world where hope seems like a luxury, there’s always a deluge of upsetting and disturbing materials on our screens and way too many superheroes to keep track of, there must come a new generation of characters that will shed a beacon of light in these dark times.

What has transpired in Minnesota is unconstitutional, idiotic, authoritarian, pointless and cowardly. Any person with dignity and humanity for their fellow man should condemn these killings by ICE. But is it anything new here in the US? No. Killings like these can be dated back to Kent State and the Colorado Coalfield War, where innocent people died at the hands of the state for protesting against injustice.

What’s new to me are how these events are exposing the many countless ideological contradictions, the backstabbings, lies, hate and again, the pure unfiltered spinelessness – all coming from the Trump administration and its diehard supporters to own the other side. And it’s enough to make people cynical and angry. My advice? Don’t fall for that.

For those concerned about what’s going on, I get it. It’s scary right now. But the terror isn’t gonna last forever. Don’t lose track of what’s important. Don’t lose hope. Stand up for your communities, stand up for immigrants and protect your peace. Most importantly, think for yourselves. Fear, paranoia and cynicism is what these chuckleheads want.
