you’re not exactly a strong role model yourself. sure, there’s moments where you’re not too terrible, but at the end of the day you’re still an addict, you’re still a criminal. you may be doing alright in your own mind, but the last thing you want is people looking up to you. if they look up to you, go down the same path, that just makes you feel responsible for another persons decline. “i’m not the role model type. it’s sweet, but don’t go there.” you don’t even know that that’s what she meant, but you need to be sure it’s not. there’s a lot she doesn’t know. “y’don’t see it all, satomi. you don’t see a lot.” that’s the good thing about her, really. she’s friends with kevin, not you, all that you know for sure is that she’s seen you smoke. and if that’s all she really knows? well, she definitely doesn’t see the bigger picture. “kev likes to not tell his friends that i’m..” oh, it’s easy to say in your head, less easy to admit out loud to someone who doesn’t see the worst of you. “i’m kind of a.. well.. kent likes to use the phrase ‘useless drug addict’ but.. you know.” yes, that’s the entire admission. you consider that to be opening up. “not the role model type.”
