             ╰ · ☾ › MORGAN THOUGHT FOR a moment, pretending as if she had any real understanding of fashion and finally, she nodded. “ a romper and sandals sounds perfect. but make sure to bring some bug spray so your feet don’t get all bitten up. “ she grinned. “ it’s gonna be dark and the little bugs like to be out in the dark. cause it’s cool. and maybe they want to see the stars too, i can’t blame them really. “

“…It’s just a picnic, Babette.” John deadpanned, slightly confused. If anyone understood being adverse to outdoor activities, especially if it was strenuous, it was John. But, what was a gentle, motionless little picnic in the park? Nothing, really. At least not in his eyes. “Yes, you look very lovely. Is this about the grass stains? Goodness, how many times must I tell you that I brought my tide stick with me! You’ll be fine.”

Sticking out her lower lip even despite John’s attempts to soothe her worries, Babette cocked her head to the side in thought. “Oh, alright... I suppose if you have your Tide sticks with you, it won’t be all that bad. And as long as I get a bit of blanket to sit on, that will minimize the chance of getting any grass stains on this skirt. Although next time, I’d appreciate a warning-- you know it’s not my first instinct to dress down.”

“You don’t have to be dressed any different, it’s just how you were!” Trying to not sound desperate, Iris smiled reassuringly, clutching her phone with the camera open tighter. “Please, it’s just one photo, just how you were standing back there - it’s so hard to get good light like that this time of day, especially on fabric like that, and it was- you were perfect - it’s not a photoshoot or anything, just reference, no one will see it, I’ll delete it right after I’ve got the colours down… please, one photo.” She gave her a small, slightly pleading smile, raising one index finger. “Besides, even if it was a shoot, you’re dressed perfectly. That’s gorgeous, really.”

“Oh, no, no - of course not!” She reassured, panic creeping into her voice at the mere idea of something ruining a perfectly white dress. It was as bad as people who ruined black dresses with deodorant that left marks. Fashion crimes were a no go in her world, especially intentional ones. “I have a picnic blanket on hand just in case, that dress is far too cute to ruin. Isn’t it? That was my point! Those books are supposed to be used to look back on fondly, and how am I meant to do that, if I didn’t get to wear the nicest outfit I owned?”

“As long as I can leave with my dress in its original state, we’re good to go,” Babette agreed, flashing the blonde a grin. Though, she should have known that she would be in good hands with Marie. Between the two of them, they knew their fair share about fashion faux pas and how to properly treat a gorgeous garment. “Oh, perfect! It definitely is, so I’m glad you came prepared,” she said, breathing a sigh of relief. “Not to mention yearbooks are how others remember you when they look back, so why wouldn’t you want to be in a beautiful gown?”

☁*·ﾟBOUNCING UP AND down with happiness, camila was glad the girl agreed. she was going to make sure this was the best day the girl ever had. “oh they definitely have aprons. i have to wear one when i work, so it’d be silly if they didn’t provide them,” she explained, grinning. practically skipping toward the candy shop, camila turned around to face her new candy making buddy. “what’s your favorite candy?”

A wide smile appearing across her face at the younger girl’s infectious enthusiasm, Babette was comforted that she had made the right decision. It had been far too long since she had been that excited to do anything really, so it was lovely to be a part of-- even if it meant sacrificing fashion for an afternoon. “Perfect! As long as we get some protective wear, this will be fun. I definitely love anything dark chocolate. What about you?” she asked curiously, following behind her.

  ╰ · ☾ › MORGAN SIGHED BUT nodded her head, the least she could do was give babette time to change, considering she was the only person that agreed to take her. “ so what are you going to wear? what do you consider proper star gazing in field attire? i usually go for something comfy and not too bright. don’t wanna distract from the star’s twinkle. do you have that kind of outfit? “

Adam just stared at Babette, not even batting an eye. At first he didn’t say a word, but then he decided to speak. “You can always change your clothes”, he said as he crossed his arms cross his chest. “Or keep those on and if they get ruined I’ll just buy you a new dress.”

Sticking out her lower lip in protest, she couldn’t deny that those were her only two options. She certainly hadn’t been expecting to move dusty boxes on her day off, but it seemed like the least she could do. “Oh, alright. But I’m wearing one of Teodora’s aprons,” she decided, floating over to the kitchen to find a spare one. “And I’m not above complaining if I get dust all over myself.”

“You should just download it, and we could go out together. I would appreciate the company“, Belle shook her head and smiled, “hey, my social life could be changing. i might have met someone and now my schedule could have changed”.

“I’ll have to do that. Anything to see you outside of this bookshop,” she decided with a firm nod of her head. Her mouth dropping open in feigned outrage, Babette clutched her heart-- ever one for dramatics. “Your social life is changing, and I’m the last to hear about it?” Dropping her insulted facade with a giggle, she couldn’t help but raise a brow at her. “But... have you met someone?”

“Nope. My sister thinks they’re for the childish. I’m supposed to be a ‘lady.’” She said, giving the last word air quotes. “Thats the thing, I don’t really have any good friends. I mean, I have Felix and Cara and my Hatter but otherwise, I don’t really know anyone well enough. That’s why I wanted to do this. Get to know everyone better.”

“I downloaded it but haven’t been able to play, there are a lot of stops though“, she hadn’t really explored the game and learned the lingo of it. “There are a lot of things that get me out of the bookshop”, she retorted with a grin, even though it was pretty obvious that the only way she would be out of the bookstore was in case of an emergency.

“You’ll have to tell me if it’s any fun. Then maybe I’ll indulge my inner Harry Potter fanatic and join you,” she promised the brunette with a soft smile. “Darling, you don’t have to lie to me about your social life. Or are you forgetting that I practically know your entire work schedule?” Babette reminded her, teasingly raising an eyebrow at her friend.
