“Whoever thought of bringing pumpkin spice season early is seriously messing with my vibe. I don’t feel like drinking a pumpkin spice when the sun is hot and I’m sweating, who thought it was a good idea?“

☁*·ﾟ TILTING HER HEAD to the side, camila wasn’t entirely sure what to say to her. in her hand was an iced pumpkin spice latte with extra whip cream and she sipped on it, trying her best not to laugh. “what about when it’s iced? it tastes so good, especially when you mix it with vanilla soy milk!  but i can’t tell you what to drink. but if you want recommendations, oh sweet gummy bears, i’ve tried all of the sweet drinks! and i love all of them!”

。·:✧:· ABOUT a half hour ago, Lilo realized she hadn’t eaten in far too long and knew she had to solve that problem. In a fit of hunger, she sauntered into the nearest pizza place and got herself a LARGE pepperoni pizza, one that not many people could finish. She brought it back to the beach and proceeded to sit on her towel that was miraculously still there and took out a large piece of pizza, chowing down on it. Hearing someone’s voice near her, she lifted her head. “You can have a slice, if you sit down here and talk to me. I tried to talk to some people earlier and they waved me off. It wasn’t very nice.”

☁*·ﾟON HER WAY home from her working at the candy shop, camila made a stop at the beach to drop of some candy for a lilo. she saw the girl sitting on the ground, practically shoving pizza into her mouth. camila couldn’t help but laugh as she walked over toward her. plopping down on the towel next to her, she held up the bag of candy. “i’ll definitely sit and talk to you. we need to catch up on life and besides, i brought you all of your favorite candy,” camila stated with a bright smile. “and don’t worry about those other people. they’re dumb and can’t see how great you are, alright?”

“Am I the only one worried those weird random clowns are going to return? I think it’s enough that It 2 is out, but do we really need a documentary about one of the creepy clowns? Just let the clown obsession go…“

☁*·ﾟ EYES WIDENING, CAMILA shook her head, absolutely terrified of the idea. she shook her head rather violently, hoping that type of situation wouldn’t happen. if it did, she didn’t know what she’d do. breathing heavily, she rang her hands together, praying that it was all jsut for fun that first time. “i wasn’t worried before! but now you’ve definitely got me worried.” shuddering, she put her hands up in defense, really trying not to think about such a thing. “a documentary? but won’t that make everyone even more obsessed?”

╰ · ☾ › “ WAIT, HOLD THAT thought, ” stan held a finger up to the person who was speaking to him. on his back there was a crocheted drawstring bag he’d gotten from a garage sale, and he took it off to search for something that must have been very important - important enough to pause a whole conversation for. he dug around until his hand landed on what he was searching for… a baseball cap. “ okay, all good now. what were you saying again ?? i’ll be honest with you, i wasn’t paying attention. i kept thinking something was missing, ya know ?? it was throwing off the whole v i b e of our interaction. but don’t worry, i figured it out, ” he reassured as he put the hat on.

☁*·ﾟWATCHING HIM SEARCH through his backpack, she was intrigued as to what he’d pull out, but had to admit, she was not expecting it to be the baseball cap. as a result, camila found herself laughing, shaking her head, completely confused by the entire moment right in front of her. what exactly had happened in that moment? “i mean, i understand something was missing, i guess i’m just confused as to why you didn’t notice it this morning, not that it doesn’t look great and now the vibe’s better, but i’m confused,” she continued, curious about what kind of person he would be to talk to. “i don’t remember what i was saying. it was something about candy. it’s always about candy.”

Arista checked her reflection on the shop’s window before making her way in – fluffing up her hair and adjusting the lip gloss. Camila could probably see her from inside, but she didn’t mind. Either way, she walked into the store with a skip to her step and a wide grin that stayed on her lips until she was reaching the counter, where she could meet her candy gatekeeper. “Camila, how do you look prettier every time I come here?” she sighs, melting herself onto the counter, elbows leaning on the surface and chin resting on a hand. “It’s not fair for the rest of us, babe.”

☁*·ﾟ LAUGHING LIGHTLY UPON seeing arista fixing her hair in the shop window, camila found herself doing the same. she knew exactly what was about to happen and quite honestly, it was her favorite part of the week. flirting was incredibly harmless and she adored every second of it, especially from someone so beautiful. when the door opened, she flipped her hair and rested her elbows on the counter. “because i can’t help but smile bigger every time i see you,” she stated, her face flushing. shaking her head, she leaned closer. “but you, you just take my breath away.”

         ╰ · 𝘹 › WALKING –– NO STUMBLING through the streets of sunnyside, a brown paper bag shaped suspiciously like a bottle clutched in his right hand, james laughed at himself. “ yo, ho. yo, ho ––– “ he began to sing quite loudly, surely disrupting someone’s peace.  what had started out as a simple day to quickly run errands and get back on his ship ended with far too long spent at the bar, mid day. it was embarrassing really, and hook would reap his consequences tomorrow, surely. but for now, he was content wandering down the street, causing a ruckus, “ you there! ” he called out, lifting the hand holding onto his bottle to point at whoever was standing just a few feet away from him. “ do you have the time? “ he had lost all track of time three drinks ago.

☁*·ﾟARMS FULL OF candy, bags slung over in every direction she probably could handle and somehow she was going to make it through the streets back home. the problem with carrying candy back home was that she wanted to eat it on her way home. however, at this point, she was not in any position to reach any candy to eat it. at this point, camila was about to trip over her own feet and candy would be everywhere and that would make her incredibly sad. hearing someone’s voice, she titled her head to the side, watching them stumble over toward her. as he got closer, she couldn’t help but chuckle. “it’s time for some candy! ‘cause you look like you’ve had far too much to drink. but it’s about four in the afternoon.” fiddling through her bags as much as she could at that moment, she pulled out a bag of gummy bears. “do you like gummy bears? you should soak up some of that alcohol.”

“𝙎𝙐𝙈𝙈𝙀𝙍𝙏𝙄𝙈𝙀'𝙎 𝘼𝙇𝙈𝙊𝙎𝙏 𝙊𝙑𝙀𝙍, 𝙔'𝙆𝙉𝙊𝙒. and you’re really gonna regret wasting this last opportunity for some fun in the sun. don’t come cryin’ to me when i get back with a sun-kissed tan.” he scoffed. but he’d been trying to get people to go with him to the beach for a last hurrah all day and frankly, he was getting real sick of going around in a tank top, board shorts with his inflatable tube already around his hips, lugging around his bag full of balls and other beach toys!      ron wasn’t a massive fan of the beach but he hadn’t been all summer and frankly, he was just itching to get out and cannon ball into the ocean where he’d later regret how much sand he had managed to get into his shorts.      offering one last puppy dog look, he batted his eyelashes as innocently as he could. “you– you wouldn’t wanna make a young man cry, now would you? are you usually this heartless?”

☁*·ﾟGASPING, PLACING HER hand over her mouth, camila couldn’t believe that the summer was already almost over. it flew by so fast and she found herself fairly sad. bouncing up and down with extreme excitement, she clapped, excitedly. “then what are we waiting for?! let’s go!” she wanted nothing more than to run to the beach with far too much excitement. “please please tell me you’ve got an extra one of those tubes! ‘cause we’ll have so much fun wave jumping!” because of the summer, camila was the kind of person that would constantly have her swimsuit underneath her dress and with one quick swoop, she pulled it over her head and shoved it into her bag. grabbing hold of his hand, she pulled lightly. “faster! faster! the waves are waiting! we might even be able to see some fish!”

Roxanne’s eyes widened as she saw the candy, her sweet tooth getting the best of her as she quickly nodded. “That sounds like a perfect trade,” she said as she held a few of her own bags out. “My Mama would kill me if she knew I was takin’ candy from a stranger, but I always was a sucker for m&ms.”

☁*·ﾟHOLDING OUT HER hand, she grinned brightly. “well, the name’s camila, so i’m no longer a stranger!” the candy obsessed girl stated rather matter of factly. this kind of festival was exactly the kind that would gain camila more friends and that was definitely something she wanted. “this confetti is so cute! you’re so considerate! gosh, your friends must be so lucky!” camila took the bag of confetti and handed her a bag of candy. “i experimented with some flavors of candy in that bag, so please let me know what you think! i want to be like willy wonka!”

Roxanne had made little bags to hand out, filled with biodegradable confetti and an assortment of seeds. Of course confetti was a big thing at Pride and she wanted to keep it that way, just with a…twist. The seeds were a couple different colors so that they blended in well enough and could be planted wherever they landed. She held one out as someone passed her, a wide smile on her face. “We’ve gotta celebrate in style! Take one and throw it whenever ya want–Happy Pride!”

☁*·ﾟHER JAW DROPPED at the sight of the confetti in the girl’s hand. it was absolutely gorgeous and beautiful and camila wanted to play with all of the confetti. the thought of throwing it in the air sounded like nothing but fun. “okay, these are the most beautiful little bags i’ve ever seen and i can’t wait to throw this in the air! this is the best way to make people smile!” opening her sling bag, camila reached inside and pulled out a few bags of rainbow nerds and other candy she’d collected. “can i trade you confetti for candy? i made these, and it’s mostly just nerds and m&ms and such.”

    freshly home from his ‘vacation’ of sorts, oscar couldn’t help the grimace that had found it’s way onto his face. the festival, of course. how had he not remembered it was that time of year? he’d never been a fan of it to begin with, and now that he was older, well  — his dislike for the event had grown even stronger. truth be told, he really wasn’t interested, but then again, maybe some fun could come of it. “so,” he started, bumping the shoulder of the person he’d walked up to. “what do make of all this chaos?”

☁*·ﾟSTANDING OFF TO the side with a lollipop in her hand, camila took in all of the people around her, incredibly curious as to what their reactions to the whole festival experience would be like. licking the lollipop in her hand, she turned to face the man talking next to her. she tilted her head to the side and raised her eyebrows in sheer curiosity. there was some kind of dislike on his face, but she had no idea what it was. “i like it! it brings everyone together, plus everything’s super colorful and that just makes it even better! everyone is celebrating and the food is amazing! have you tried these lollipops? it tastes like what i’d imagine a rainbow would.”

Alice dug around in her backpack for a small journal she always had on hand and, whipping it out, began to take notes. The scribbles would have meant nothing to anyone else who looked at them but to her they were clear as day. A perfect code. She had to write everything in riddles… it’s just who she was. “These are all fabulous ideas. We’ll get a fun little prep going.” Alice smiled, “I’m glad you’ll come. I think we’re going to become the best of friends.” The blonde had never been shy or kept such ideas to herself. She firmly believed that telling others your intentions was the best way to start a good friendship.

☁*·ﾟGIGGLING, she clapped excitedly. camila was most definitely a fan of sleepovers, especially ones that involved lots of people and food. “hooray! is there anything i can help with?” how come she hadn’t thought about having a sleepover before. this was an excellent way to make friends! and now, she couldn’t wait to spend the night at the girl’s house. “oh goodness, me too! do you have things planned or what? ‘cause i’ve got board games, but i know not a lot of people don’t like them. it’s also been super long.” camila wished she had more friends and now, she wanted to find better ways to make them! 

                 WHEN SHE EXPLAINED her reasoning for wanting a candy tattoo – which, to be honest, sounded pretty legit to him – jim nodded slowly. the girl was passionate about candy, and somehow that was cute and well, he never really judged people for their choice of tattoos anyways. why would that chance now. “ alright. “, he answered as he turned the pace on his notebook, readying himself to start sketching as soon as she would engage in some further explanations. “ okay… so… just candies ? no preference for which ones ? “, he concluded, his mind already filling with ideas – even though the request sounded a bit peculiar at first, jim did believe there was a lot to do with it. “ let me see what i can do. “, the guy mumbled as he started sketching. 

☁*·ﾟWHEN HE NODDED, her grin reached her ears, a smile so grand she knew her face would hurt later. all she wanted to do was bounce up and down but she didn’t want to scare him. her entire life was based around candy. she’d known more about candy as a young child than most. but she took care of herself. she had good teeth and ate properly. “wait, really?” quite honestly, camila hadn’t expected him to be so open and easily persuaded to draw a tattoo of candy, but she was more than thrilled. “not really? i do want at least one colorful lollipop, because that was my father’s first favorite. other than that, i’d just like it to be colorful. i’m not sure where on my body i want it yet. maybe you can help with that as well. doesn’t really matter how big it is,” she explained. camila didn’t care about the location, as long as she liked the candy on there, but there weren’t many pieces of candy she didn’t enjoy. “thank you, really, thank you.”

“Dragon fruit ice cream is so good, especially in the summer. I hate chestnuts, when people cook them and they get all gushy”, Tiana shook her head and made a disgusted face, whoever thought that roasting chestnuts on a fire was a cute winter tradition was obviously wrong. “I was allergic to apple for a bit, it came and went, it was so random”. She grabbed a plate her mother had just served, a piece of bread and a spoon, handing them to the brunette, “enjoy”. 

☁*·ﾟWATCHING HER FOR a moment, camila was even more curious about this girl’s knowledge of food. there were so many wonderful types of foods out there and flavors she’d never heard of at all. and now, she wanted to befriend this girl so she could try everything. “i’ve never even heard of such a thing. i’m not even sure what dragon fruit tastes like. the only chestnut i know is water chestnut and that’s really weird but do you have some dragonfruit ice cream around or know where we can get some?” camila was practically bouncing in her spot, wishing against almost anything that she could just follow this girl around everywhere and eat with her. she couldn’t help but laugh. allergies were weird. she wasn’t allergic to anything, but she knew enough friends who were. “well, i’m glad you’re not anymore, ‘cause apple pie is amazing!” camila squealed. as she took the plate from the girl, she looked down at the food and took a deep breath. practically sinking to the ground, she scooped up a piece of the food and put the spoon in her mouth. “oh my twizzlers! this is the greatest meal i’ve ever eaten! i don’t even know what all’s in here, but i want to eat this forever. oh gosh, you’re such a wonderful cook! i don’t even understand how! my goodness!”

“He’s definitely a lot more of a people person than I am,” she said, a warm grin tugging at the corners of her mouth as she looked down at Kimchi. He had an affinity for people watching, and on the rare occasions that Gogo actually invited people over to her apartment, they would surely leave covered in his white hair. “You could definitely take care of fish– especially if you got one of those electronic filters they have. Plus you can get super creative putting together a fish tank,” Gogo mused, though she’d never had one of her own. “Have you ever had a pet of your own?”

☁*·ﾟCHUCKLING SOFTLY, SHE kept her eyes on the small animal. “that’s perfectly understandable. i’m definitely a people person, perhaps a little too much sometimes. i think it scares people.” gently rubbing between the cat’s ears, camila couldn’t help but smile. the cat was adorable and she couldn’t help but wonder if she’d actually be a good pet mother. pursing her lips, she shrugged her shoulders. “that sounds so wonderful, really, it does. i would make it look like a little candy store for the fish!” shaking her head, she looked down at the pet. “no, my parents never liked them, so it just wasn’t an option. my mom’s allergic and my dad doesn’t want the responsibility, ‘cause he’s already got so much going on with his business.” tilting her head to the side, she thought about it. “i think now, i’d want sometime a little low maintenance. maybe a hamster.”

☆ﾟ*·ﾟHEARING a knock on the door, Fawn crawled off the couch, half asleep, clad in her giraffe shorts and matching tank top, her hair all kinds of askew. Opening the door, she saw an overly excited Camila standing at her door. She laughed and stepped aside, welcoming her into her apartment. From the first moment she’d met Camila, walking into the candy shop. The girl had so much energy, it was a surprise she didn’t scare Fawn. But even then, Fawn had just about the same amount of energy, so why weren’t they friends? 

Plopping down on the couch, Fawn sat cross legged on her couch, watching as Camila sat down as well. “What is it? I take it it’s amazing with how much you’re bouncing!” Stopping for a moment, Fawn’s eyes widened. “No, you didn’t. I can smell it. Is it what I think it is? Camila…. you didn’t.”

☁*·ﾟSHARING HER LOVE of candy with her friends always the best parts of her day. knowing she’d finally created something that fawn would love made camila more than happy. she’d spent weeks trying to perfect this candy that she’d never heard of. and now, she wanted to ask fawn for more fun recipes to try. gypsy candy was pretty incredible and she couldn’t wait to see the look on fawn’s face when she finally tasted it. all camila could hope was that it actually tasted like it was supposed to. her understanding of it could’ve been completely different from fawn’s. 

when the door opened and fawn sat down on the couch, camila plopped right next to her before handing her the bag. as fawn started to realize what she’d done, she couldn’t help but giggle with utter excitement. “yeah, i did. fawn, i give you skull rocks in all different flavors. i just hope that they actually taste right. it was not easy, let me tell you that.” untying the bag, she opened it up and held it in front of her friend. “you asked me to, so i tried as best i could.”

“Absolutely. Just pop by the bookstore when you make your account, I’ll add you and we can go on walks together“. Belle raised her brows, a smile on her face, “I get what you mean. I’m the same with books, I find that I can’t give a good review if I haven’t read the book already. Although, there are some books that I steer away from. But two pieces a day doesn’t sound bad, and if you wash your teeth, the dentist can’t be mad, right?”. 

☁*·ﾟGRINNING BRIGHTLY, SHE was glad someone else was as excited about the game as she was. taking a walk with someone else while playing the game sounded like an incredible idea. besides, after all the insane amounts of candy she ate, camila could probably do with a little more exercise. “that sounds absolutely incredible. it’s such a smart way to get us outside!” she explained, chuckling softly. tilting her head to the side, she listened as the girl spoke and wondered if she should try reading more often. “i’m so glad you understand!” books weren’t something part of her life, but she wondered if maybe they should be? “you like books? do you maybe have recommendations?” biting her lip, she nodded. the dentist were surprisingly impressed with her teeth, but she knew it was necessary to take good care of them. “i also don’t tell him how much i eat. he tried to guess once and i cried, making him think he hurt me while he was cleaning my teeth.”
