Klling you slowly

Cecily: settle a debate for me, won't you? which is more fun, the axe or the dagger? research. i'm writing a play, you know. it's called Murder Most Musical. is that catchy enough? Or should I sharpen it up

Tyler: axe is a one shot kill. but you can always keep hitting for more blood and guts.

Tyler: dagger's painful if you go by stabbing. takes more than one hit. or you can cut the throat, pretty bloody too.

Allison just shrugged her shoulders. She chose a nice spot on the dance floor and just turned towards him. “I’m not exactly an expert at dancing either.” She smirked, basically admitting that she was just teasing him the whole time. She just stepped closer to him and wrapped her arms gently around his neck but kept maybe an inch of space between their chests just in case he felt uncomfortable with being close. “I use to stand on my brothers feet and he would dance around the living room with me. My mom forced him to take a ballroom dancing class so he can impress the girls at dances. So this is basically a warning: if I step on your toes, I promise it’s just habit.”

A light chuckle left his lips at her words, his hands finding their way to her waist. “Then we’ll both look like fools. At least no one will recognize us.” He said, hinting at the mask covering half of their features. If he couldn’t recognize her, chances were a lot of other people wouldn’t. That was a nice story. He wish he had a nice story with his sister too. But the only one he had was about the time she tricked him and nearly succeeded in murdering him. Not exactly lovely. “Maybe my mom should have taken me to those classes too.” Tyler admitted, but something was off. “I mean, if I had a mom, she should have.”

Annoyance was one way to put what Harleen was feeling. She barely knew of Tyler, just that he had been on the zine before, but she couldn’t recall what he looked like. That, added with the masks made it harder for her to spot within the crowd. Sighing, she had decided that focusing on Finn might be a good idea, but she didn’t want to run the risk of being exposed. Telling him she was going outside for some air, Harleen made her way through the mansion and out towards the gardens. Spotting someone there, she figured that asking around would be the best way to find her partner. Making her way over to the figure, she stopped once she was stood in front of them. “Hey, do you know someone named Tyler?”

Releasing the smoke into the relatively cold air, blue eyes settled on the girl that just approached him. “That would be me.” He admitted, mild interest lurking on his features. He could only think of one reason anyone would be looking for him. Actually, make that two. But he could scratch the second one. Even if it was that, he’d probably refuse anyway. “I’m guessing you’re Harleen, then.” From what he could recall, she did look familiar to the person in front of him. Tyler didn’t even wait for a reply before pushing himself off the wall. Taking one last drag from the barely used cigarette, he flung it to the ground.

Small gestures were, perhaps, the ones Ariella appreciated the most. The ones she kept in her memory and held to her heart. And what Tyler was giving her was quite a small, kind gesture. And for that reason, she smiled right back. Genuinely and soft, like everything she did ever since she was born. “Oh, Ty. You don’t need to give me the whole thing. Even though I’m weak and won’t refuse the whole thing, let’s share it, huh?” She took the cake in between small fingers, parting it in a nearly perfect half, offering the bigger one to the male sitting by her side. “Don’t worry, my hands are washed.” The brit teased, giggling playfully.

Seeing her smile was enough to make Tyler’s night. Nothing better than being the cause of joy in someone’s heart. Especially considering his... situation. He was about to refuse the offer, but it seemed too late as he caught sight of the tender texture being split in two. It was too late no, the cake was already in his hand. “You have the biggest heart I know. How could someone possibly hate you?” He asked in a teasing tone before stuffing his  mouth with the cupcake.

“No, no, don’t worry about it.” The small girl said cheerily, looking up at him. “Well, maybe another class of champagne.” Ella giggled. “I’m Ella, by the way.”

Blue hues glanced at her empty hands before looking back up at her face. “Right, yes! Sure, let’s go get some?” He said, his voice turning hesitant near the end. “I’m Tyler.”

“That’s exactly what I wanted to hear.” She smiled and just grabbed the glass of champagne out of his hand and put it on the ledge next to them all while smiling innocently up at him as if she did nothing wrong. She was a tiny bit tipsy but she could easily control herself and it wasn’t like she was wobbling all over the place. She rocked the high heels and walked as if they were the most natural thing to have on. His voice sounded familiar, but she figured she’s just talked to him in class or something before. Besides, it’s not exactly like she could see his face or really recognize who he is. Allison grabbed his wrist and just started pulling him to the dance floor. “Are you the type of guy who wants to girl to lead?” She looked around. “A lot of people don’t know how to dance apparently.” 

He had seen that hair somewhere, those eyes. Her voice was familiar too. But with the mask on, he couldn’t put a name on her covered face. Maybe after he’d have a bit more of conversation with her, a few more hints, he could finally recognize her. “I’m not actually a good dancer either.” Tyler replied, letting himself be lead to the dancefloor. With a quick glance around, he was at least able to spot a lot of other horrible dancers. That was a relief, at least he wouldn’t look like an absolute fool in the middle of professional dancers. “I hope you don’t mind about that.”

Ella stood near the wall of the venue, trying to make herself as tiny and unnoticeable as possible. Apparently it worked too well, because someone ran straight into her, sending champagne down the front of her dress. “It’s okay, it’s okay.” Ella assured the man. “It would’ve happened sooner or later, honestly. If you hadn’t done it, I would have. It’s a black dress, anyway.” She took some napkins from a nearby table and patted herself down, briefly sneaking a look down her dress to make sure her stash was intact. It was. She sighed and looked up at the man, offering a laugh so he would know that she wasn’t mad.

With a glass now empty, Tyler was quick to place it on the same table she got the napkins from before standing straight. Too straight. He felt like that boy from before the summer began. God, he missed that boy, it was almost good to have him back. “So, we’re cool? I mean, I can do something to repay you, or I don’t know...” His voice lowered the more he drifted away. “Anything.” He added after a moment, the corner of his lips pulling into a grin when he saw her reaction. At least she seemed like a sane and normal person, unlike many people he knew.

Green hues wandered across the room as the ginger found herself a seat, her second flute of champagne empty in her hand by now, soon replaced by the passing tray. The black dress was the perfect contrast to her pale skin, cheeks flushed with the way she had such a low tolerance to the alcohol in the pretty coloured drink. She had never really drunk more than a glass, and had never really gotten to an intoxicated state. Ariella had lost the count on the freshman and frat boys who had came around to try and sneak her to the dance floor or to get themselves her number for the following day. Her smile was the perfect, gentle refusal. While all could hide the stylish lace masks that night, she was still perfectly recognisable. With her tiny body and soft curves, orange colouring to her long locks. Maybe, for that reason - she decided to giggle a bit more with the bubbling liquid tickling her throat every time she took a sip. Tipsy, tipsy sunshine girl. “Do you happen to know if they have anything sweet to eat in this place?” The question poured from the red tinted lips as she looked over at the one who had just taken a seat by her side. “I’m hungry. And I heard there would be a cupcakes table. Lies.”

Finding food in this ball was a hard task. Finding sweet food was even worst. they’d always be the first tables to be emptied, and by the time he found one, it only had a handful of cookies, empty plates of cake, and one last, precious cupcake. It was right there, he only had to extend his arm to reach it. Glancing around, her eyes caught someone else looming closer to the rare find. Tyler was quick to snatch the last cupcake, quickly disappearing into the crowd in order to not be followed by any opponent. Wouldn’t surprise him, cupcakes were a lot more delicious than those cookies. All he needed now was some place to sit, and bright locks instantly got his attention. He barely had time to take place she was already on about food. Blue eyes stared at the cupcake in hand before doing what he thought nearly impossible. Sliding the sweet in front of her, he pulled his best smile, clearly helped by the alcohol running in his blood. “Here, this was the last one. I felt like I was in The Hunger Games. Almost fought to keep it.”

“So you don’t like cats?” Cecily remarked, an expression of horror lacing her features. “I love them! They make the best coats,” her expression warped into something deadly serious, the blonde taking another sip of her wine before descending into a fit of hysterical laughter. “Ha! Your face!I’m just fucking with you! I’m a vegan. Gross, I bet I’d catch fleas.”

“I like cats. I don’t like you enough to go meet your cat." Truth was, Tyler wasn’t even sure he knew that girl. The blond hair was familiar, but with the amount of blondes around, it could be anyone. one thing he knew for sure was that this girl seemed to have a loose screw. “Maybe not fleas, but eating cat is disgusting.”

Ophelia: Well, I have a date to the play tonight.

Hamlet: Who is he? What's his name?

Ophelia: His name is... not important. What's important is, he's better than you in every single conceivable way.
