OK, I don’t know if anyone noticed this before, but look at his eyes befoe they open! Is it just me, or is there a lingering bit of gold there for a second?  (It fades right before he really opens them.)

Almost instantly her face lit up as she moved towards where his voice had come from. So far she didn’t hear any sounds of the guys he had over last night. Which was fine with her, this meant she wasn’t pushing herself into a situation with strangers. When he came into view, she picked up the pace and gave him a small wave. It was hard not to get dreamy eyed looking at him after he’d been working. Silly girlish thoughts most definitely. 

            His hand raised to his hat, pressing the rim between his thumb and index finger to give it a slight tilt in her direction. This, of course was his response to her wave. The guys that were over the night previous were all out on a trail ride at the moment, leaving Riku to his usual work. There was a moment's glance back to check what the horse was up to before his full attention was returned to her. "Afternoon, Kai.. How has your day been?" There was a soft tone in his voice whenever he spoke to her, though he was raised being told to respect others. It was only a part of how he was raised that he used his best manners around her.
