Ark had figured he had been in the clear; his escape was going so smooth until a faerie, of which he’d never seen before, floated in front of his face. Ark had never seen a faerie before. She was tiny and above all else seemed harmless.
“Move, you, you’re in my way,” Just as Ark was about to pass, a voice he recognized sounded all too clear to him. While still crouching, his face contorted into a scowl. “Now just a second–” he began, finally standing upright, facing the woman who confronted him. The scowl he wore on his face almost instantly dissipated, softening almost. He wasn’t ready to be met with someone that struck such a strong resemblance to his elder sister, and if he didn’t know Ovelia was in Garlemald, he would have sworn this woman was her.
He froze, forgetting all that it was he was going to say. Ark could feel his heart beat from under his mail and his throat beginning to tighten– this woman looked so much like her.
His eyes fell to the ground, if only for a brief moment, before returning back to her.
“Pardon?” he shrugged his shoulders before folding his arms across his chest. “I don’t believe I necessarily know what you’re talking about…” Although he wasn’t the best of liars, he didn’t think himself above weaseling his way out of a tight situation. “If we’re done here, I need to return to my mentor for training purposes. You understand that, don’t you?“ Cracking a smile, he waved his hand dismissively before striding past the little faerie.
He was going to escape, one way or another.
The boy wasn’t exactly what she expected to find, truth be told. He looked young, though not that younger than herself, maybe only a few years. His fiery red hair reminded her of her own...and there was something else about him. His aura maybe? Yevgeny couldn’t place her finger on it so quickly.
However...the way he stared at her for that first moment caught her attention, a near opposite shift in his expression. It was almost as if he'd seen some sort of apparition when he looked at her. Did she frighten him? He seemed to be at a loss of words for the moment, until he looked back up at her face and began to speak.
Though what he said wasn't exactly what Yevgeny was hoping to pry from him, causing her to roll her eyes and glare off to the side momentarily. What a strange man.
'So, he’s a brat...' She thought to herself, crossing her arms and answering the young man with nothing but an obviously irritated expression. At first, the only reason she had even approached him was to not be a pushover, however she wasn't going to pull his arm behind his back and make a scene over something so stupid. Besides, Coerthas wasn't the most friendly place to adventurers and Hyur alike -- if the boy acted like this regularly, someone else was bound to give him a worse punishment than she could.
"Uh huh. On your way then, boy," She placed extra emphasis on the last word before turning on her heels with Selene following close by, making her way to the southern gate of Camp Dragonhead. Still eager to catch a chocobo porter back to the Observatorium's inn before the weather turned nasty, Yevgeny was now convinced that hopping back into a warm bed could fix her now souring mood.
