Davis loved New Yearâs. He didnât know why but it was one of his favorite things. Probably because it was a time for new beginnings. There was no one heâd rather spend it with than Sophie, of course, and so here they were curled up on the couch together. Their focus at the moment was the tv, which featured bands from all over. Davis, however, could only think of how midnight was fast approaching. He had been considering something for awhile, but now was very nervous about it.
Though theyâd been invited to parties, he was glad theyâd opted to stay in. He was dressed casually but still nice. A plaid blue button down shirt and jeans. It was his style and yet he didnât feel like he wasnât making any effort in his appearance either, so it worked.
Of course, Sophie looked amazing and Davis had had a hard time not simply staring at her all night. Instead, he took a mental picture so he could remember this moment and everything about it.
He held her close and smiled at her words. âYep. The new year is almost upon us.â He murmured, softly. âAnd then weâll see the big explosions.â He loved fireworks.Â
Sophie always wonderd what each new year would bring... New Years in the past had brought London, New York, American Road Trip, and now Harmony. But now that they were settled there wasn't a new town to visit. Or a new stop that they had to try. It was just them, Jacs and a new home. What else could life surprise her with? Romance didn't seem to be in the picture - she hadn't managed to get up the guts to tell Davis. Not yet.
Staying in was ideal, it allowed them time to talk and not be drowned out by the music unless they wanted to. They'd gotten in a jam session and just generally enjoyed one anothers company, without the worry of the next pay check or where they would live.
"Yes~" Sophie chimed happily. "Think we'll be able to see Harmony's from here?" She tilted her head, she was certain there would be one at midnight - doubting that any of the town managed to sleep before then. Plus they were right on the water and it was so ideal and it would be absolutely lovely. "It's already 2016 back home. It's almost 8am." Sophie pointed out, they'd chatted with their parents earlier, not surprised to find his parents over at her parent's house for the evening.

Time was dwindling as the new year approached, about 30 minutes left on the clock. And, as usual Sophie was spending it in the one place she'd rather be than anywhere else... Snuggled up on the couch watching the bands play at all the stages across the US. They would sing and dance as the music they enjoyed played, and chat during ones they didn't much care for. It was fun and it was tradition- something Sophie wasn't willing to give up even though they'd been invited out. She'd dressed nicely though- it wasn't going out but it was still their own little party though. Mismatched stockings reached her knees - one light blue and the other white, both thigh highs that were hidden by a ruffled skirt that faded from white to blue. A black vest over a white blouse made the outfit. It wasn't really all too elaborate, but it looked nice and Sophie thought it looked cute. Maybe a small part of her wanted to impress Davie too but she knew that ship had probably sailed long ago.
They had chips and had made their own pizza that night as well - but the part that had made them giggle a bit despite both being 22 now, was that the were sharing a bottle of sparkling cider. Yes, each had pictures of the other drinking from the bottle like it were wine. It was funny and neither were really big on drinking, despite the stereotype of the Scottish. Sophie flopped down on the couch next to him as a good band ended. Resting her head on his shoulder she grinned. She wasn't tired, that much was obvious but she enjoyed the closeness. "Thirty more minutes!" Each year they were together on New Years she was worried it could be their last. Who knows when he'd get a girlfriend who'd rather spend the Holiday with him? So she intended to make the best of it each year, snuggled close to him and enjoying the music.
Jacs pouted as Sophie laughed, letting out a dramatic sigh as she lifted her leg from the chair but then put it back down. It wasnât enough to keep her from dancing for a few days. It would throb though, through the long eight hour shifts she would endure tomorrow and the day after. âYeahâŚâ she agreed unenthusiastically, frowning at her knee. She then wiggled her toes then spun herself around to sit up straight and stood. âMight as well get comfy, no? Itâll be a goose egg tomorrow no matter what Iâd do.â Jacs smiled a little to Sophie. âMake sure to dress warm. Itâs a little chilly out there. Or, ya knowâŚâ she shrugged as she limped to the fridge. âBlock against the wind like a barricadeâŚâ
"We'll go later, when Davie gets home. She'll be okay for a bit..." She muttered, patting their furry friend on the head before she followed Jacs, hovering around her. "You should sit for a bit, I can grab whatever you need..." Her voice was laced with concern even if if Sophie herself was just as much of a klutz as her new roommate happened to be. She was just used to someone fussing over her, and felt obligated to fill the role when there was no one around to fuss over Jacs. âBecause I know you wonât stop dancing for that so you should rest it today while youâre here...â
He loved the sound of her giggle. Her laughter was musical to him, as much as any song he played. A light blush crept upon his face and he was glad it was cold because he could blame it on the chill. âWell, IâŚI mean, we can go bigger. I just didnât want the snowman to be so big it toppled over on me. Then, Iâd be trapped under a mountain of snow until you found a Davis icicle.â He quipped.
âThanks.â He said, though he wasnât quite convinced. âYeah, it seems like it would be easier. Besides, we work best together.â And it was true, they always had, no matter what task they set out to do. It had always been easier for them, together.
"A Davisicle." She wrinkled her nose at her attempt to combine the words- the finale simply not working the way she'd hoped. "Icedavie~" That one worked much better, but she'd still rather not find it. "I think we'll eat all the snow if we go much bigger and we shouldn't risk using too much before we can make the head." They couldn't exactly just go into anyone else's yard and use their snow to make a head. "This is a perfect size." She nodded happily.
"We do, don't we?" She smiled contently. She couldn't preform without him so she was convinced of it already and also well aware... it was just nice to hear him say it. "Do you have a hat and scarf and nose and buttons and ... mouth for him... or her?" She tilted her head to the side with curiosity.
Lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Sophie couldn't possibly be more excited than she was now- it was High school Prom- and she was going with her best friend. Of course, it wasn't a date... even if a small part of her wished it were. She was content going as they were. And she didn't regret turning down the young man who'd asked her... She'd promised Davie the first day of High school that they were going to go together, and he'd agreed. So they did. But now- Davis Fletcher would be here at any time and Sophie was almost ready. They were leaving two hours early, to have dinner together. It was the last big hurrah before Graduation.
A voice downstairs alerted her to Davis' arrival at her house. His parents were right behind him by the sounds of it. They knew full well they didn't need to knock- after all, they just lived next door and they were welcomed here at any time. She could hear the greetings being exchanged and leaned out her door. "I'll be down in a minute!!" She called out the door of her bedroom.
"Okay!" It was Davie who replied- she could hear the laugh in his voice at the frantic tone in her own. He knew she was probably freaking out a bit. But instead of dwelling on that, she finished up her make up, and checked over her dress. She looked in the mirror a moment- she was done up extremely nicely- her mother had helped her get ready. Doing her hair up in a neat bun with pieces framing her face. The flower in her hair matched the dress perfectly, and she knew Davie to be wearing a suit that matched, despite him not having seen her dress yet. She took a breath- excited and nervous for reasons se couldn't quite understand, before leaving her room.
"Davis!" She heard his mother whisper sharply as her door opened. She hadn't even made it to the stairs yet but apparently Mrs.Fletcher was quite eager for her son to see his friend-date.
She made her way, carefully walking down the stairs despite being in short heels she still didn't want to risk it. She was used to sneakers or boots. As she stepped into view, Davis' eyes widened as did her own. He was standing there in a perfect tuxedo, his hair messy as usual, but she liked it that way. It looked perfect that way. The details on his suit were the same shade of light blue as her dress. A shade quite similar to his eyes.
"You look..." He couldn't get the words out as he stepped forward to take her hand for the last step. "Amazing." Finally, his tone a bit airy and breathless- he managed to finish his sentence.
"So do you." She was blushing, she could feel it- but so was he. So they just passed it off as them both being nervous for such a big event. It was about another half hour before they actually got out the door- plenty of photos were taken and even a little video. They had a corsage and a boutonniere for Davie's jacket.
Dinner was amazing and neither destroyed their dress clothes with food, which was a surprise to the both of them.  It was actually quite romantic- thought neither would admit that their thoughts strayed that way. It was a fancy diner, their parents had given them  the money as a gift to make the night even more special.
When they reached prom though, was when the fun really started. Greeted with cheerful cries of "You guys look so cute!" from their small circle of friends, they politely thanked everyone- returning some compliments as well. But honestly, that night- both of them only had eyes for each other. They shared most dances together- and others were simply spent chatting or grabbing a drink. It was the perfect night.
The last song of the night came on - and they moved closer for one last dance.
Do you hear me? I'm talking to you...
Davis's arms around her, Sophie tucked neatly against his chest as they sang the words. It was a familiar song to both of them, and both quite enjoyed singing. So it was so natural to sing along.
I keep you with me in my heart.
Wishing the other would realize how true the words of the song actually were. "Davie?"
Boy, I hear you in my dreams...
"Yeah Soph?" Their voices were low, but loud enough for the other to hear over the music.
You make it easier when life gets hard...
Sophie pulled back just enough to look at Davie. "I love you, I'm glad you were my prom date." She smiled happily before tucking herself back into arms.
"I love you too, Soph. I'd do it again anytime."
Lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I'm lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday
Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooooh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

âSo⌠I guess taking the dog for a walk on the segway isnât a good idea?â Jacque asked Sophie as she looked up from her wrapped ankle. She reached and grabbed the roll of gaze. Her knee throbbed from the fall down the stairs. Racing down the hall with a treat toy trailing behind her for Lina wasnât the funniest idea in hind sight. It was all fine until she glanced behind herself to look for the cat. Instead, she should have watched for the fast approaching lip to the stairs. âAt least I didnât fall from the top!â Colliding into the stairs wasnât that much higher on the graceful list though.
Sophie had heard the collision and came running out of her room. She wanted to laugh but she knew the pain the other was in - considering her deep seated fear of singing alone on a stage came from an incident that left her with a similar injury. Her gracefulness seemed well matched with Jacs however. Poor Davie was clearly the most graceful in the house and she wasn't sure how well that was speaking for any of them. "Davie and I can take the dog for a walk... off the segway." She giggled. "You probably should ice it and... not move...?" She wasn't exactly sure what was the best to do... but she knew walking or risking further injury wasn't the best idea.
Davis bit his lip, his brow furrowed in concentration as he worked. He felt something hard and cold hit his back, breaking his intense concentration. He heard a familiar giggle, and suddenly, despite the snow, he felt warm.
âSophâŚâ He turned around to face her, a grin spreading across his face. âOf course. After all, it wouldnât be a good snowman without my best friendâs help.â He reasoned.Â
He frowned a bit as he turned back to the large glob of snow. âActually, you should probably rescue me, because this snowman is gonna look awful if I do it.â He chuckled, lightly.
She giggled again and grinned back as she skipped over towards him. She loved the snow, it reminded her of home- and it was always amusing to play in when they were in a state that had it. Snow men, snow angels, snow ball fights... she knew it probably wouldn't last too long here but you can best she was going to enjoy it while it lasted.
"Of course~!" She chimed cheerfully as she dashed across the lawn to his side. "Is that as big as we're doing?" It would probably suit best since the snow was layered enough the could make it- she just didn't know how big they could make the snow man before they used all the snow on the lawn.
"I bet you could build him fine... He looks great so far!" She nodded happily. But she wanted to help, because it would be fun. And because doing anything with Davie was fun anyway. "but the middle is always easier with two sets of hands to make sure it gets up there." She nodded. Okay so, the bottom probably needed a bit of smoothing but they could smooth the pieces once it was all together.
Davis loved snow. Winter was his favorite season and the fact that Christmas was right around the corner, was just icing on the cake. It didnât snow often in Harmony, but when it did? He took full advantage of it. He loved sitting by the window and playing his guitar, while watching the snow fall. Or better yet, snuggling up with his best friend Sophie, by the fire.
They had finally moved out of the van and into a place with Jacque. Now, it was just a matter of finding real jobs, which he hoped would come after the holidays.
Currently, Davis was out in the front yard playing in the snow. He was trying to make a snowman but wasnât very good at it. There was actually enough snow and he was going to try. He didnât know if this was a freak snowstorm or what, but he liked it.
Sophie had been a bit on the miserable side during the summer- California summers were too hot for her. At least, her first one was. Perhaps she'd adjust in due time, but this year had left her diving into the ocean to cool down a few times. She was pleased as the cooler months became more bearable and she was actually able to snuggle up to Davie without the AC running full blast to make it comfortable.
Sheâd âsnuckâ out to scout a few shops in town to find Christmas gifts- planning on going shopping with Jacs later in the week when the snow had hit. She dashed home to drag Davie out to play in it. So what if she was twenty-two now? You can bet your sweet candy she was going to go out and play in it.Â
Thankfully sheâd walked to town, not going too far- so she was able to walk up to the house without alerting her best friend to her presence yet. She grinned and scooped up two handfuls of snow. Even though her hands were bare and the snow was cold she packed it nicely - not too tightly but enough that it would throw well and not hurt him. She waited for the moment when his back was turned and threw it at him with a giggle. âWant some help?â
Despite living with Jacque now, Sophie and Davie had opted to share a room. They were both comfortable with it- perhaps more so than separate rooms after the past year. And though Jac's settlement theyâd had the money and opted for a larger house- but despite the extra bedrooms they still shared. It was comfortable. And Sophie was reluctant to lose that closeness to him. So, it wasn't as if Sophie thought she had the illusion of sneaking up, for she was firmly snuggled up to Davis currently, eyes still closed despite being awake. It was their birthday - and it was always odd to others that they shared a birthday, but it wasn't intentional... their parents had been the best of friends and gotten married at the same time, it was only logical that the children would be born about the same time... it just so happened to be that they were born the same day.
So, it left Sophie with her gift tucked safely away for the party later which was the agreed upon time to give each other gifts... but that didn't mean the two were going to neglect their tradition of making breakfast together (even if it meant a bit of extra coaching to ensure Sophie cooked correctly.) She peeked one eye open when she felt Davis stir- already suspecting him to have been awake anyway.
"Davieee...." She whispered. Though any other day of the year  (holidays excluded) Sophie would have just gone back to sleep- their birthday was the one day she wanted to be up. The sooner the small party came around the sooner she could give Davie her gift. That, and she was hungry just thinking about their usual breakfast. It sounded so good right now- last year they'd had to do a smaller scale version due to living in the van.
"Happy Birthday~!" She chimed happily, followed by the cheesiest grin ever. She was still a bit sleepy, but it didn't mean that Davie didn't deserve a cheerful good morning.

âThatâs a good point, I like watching others too. Thereâs really good singers and dancers here indeed, a lot of talent around town. Itâs no surprise thoughâ he chuckled, after all many came to Harmony to make their dreams come true, not only musicians or dancers, but people in other departments as well that he found as good.Â
âYouâll get to it, it builds on you slowly. Harmony, I mean, I guess thatâs what you meant by new places right? Or was it The Erato?â When it came to new places he could relate to Sophie on many levels, he well knew that it took him a while to get used to foster homes and as well as Harmony at his time.
"That's true! They're all really lovely." She smiled and noded. She actually quite enjoyed the bits of the town's talent that she'd gotten a glimpse of so far. Though it did leave her wondering if she would ever manage to catch any of the talent scout's eyes around town with so many acts. So many talented people... then again- it wasn't as if the recording company had a limit that they could sin... so maybe there was hope yet!
"Harmony- it's a beautiful town but I need to... adjust." And have Davie around before she was able to sing anything. It was silly- it was a mental thing that much she was certain of... but it helped her sing so she would work with it until she could find a way to break herself of the habit of needing Davie on stage joining her to sing at all.
Drew chuckled, he might as well made a fool of himself like dancing like that. Maybe many drinks he had had gotten to his head already⌠Nah, it was for pure fun.Â
âWell, slow dancing is something, so practically youâre not one hundred percent bad at dancingâ he smiled, eyes going to his glass wondering if it would be pertinent to have another. âBut well, no dancing tonight and no singing, are you having a good time though? Perhaps youâre already bored of meâÂ
Sophie didn't think any less of him. In fact,l she thought it a little bit admirable that he could do that in public. She couldn't... her nerves wouldn't let her. Then again, she was still a bit stuck in the getting out of your shell department.
"I am! I don't mind just talking... or watching others... there's still a stage full of really good singers...." She giggled a bit, nervously. "I'm just not very good at new places." Davie had more confidence than she did. Perhaps because she was so uncomfortable in these sorts of situations.
âOh, cool. I think itâs beautiful over here. No snow!â Jacs shrugged her shoulders. âYou kind of have to ease yourself into it. Cooking. Like⌠make up. No one can contour or have a good set of winged liner on the first try. That shit takes practice!â She laughed. âBut also if you canât cook, then less people will invade your house and expect you to dish out a meal on the spot. I hated that about my town in Texas. Everyone so tight knitted and cozy- which is cute and all but it gets to be too much when itâs five nights a week because your parents can cook.âÂ
âItâs hella popular over here,â she giggled. She scrunched her nose and shook her head violently. âOh no! Never hot or in a soup!â The dancer was starting to really understand Scotland now. It sounded like Maine. But worse. She only visited the supposed vactionland once. And once was enough: too cold, and inhospitable locals. âWhatâs a popular breakfast food there?â
âYeah! Thatâs it!â Jacs cheered for her new friend. âUmm, Iâm tryingâŚtrying to think⌠oh! Wanna learn how to break your legs?!â She said a little too enthusiastically without realizing how terrible that could actually sound. âNext time then,â she calmed herself down a little and rubbed one of her arms. âSo you like it here?â
"I don't mind snow... but it is really pretty here!" She nodded eagerly. She did enjoy the scenery, but she'd never really hated snow. She liked making snowmen and having snowball fights. And cocoa after they came inside. The little marshmallows on top. That didn't seem so bad. Sophie giggled. "That's true! But I... I'm kind of a disaster in the kitchen. I don't think I'll ever have to worry about that." She wrinkled up her nose with a grin. "That doesn't sound bad but I guess it could get tiring!" She nodded, Soph had a larger family... well extended family. She had a ton of cousins. She imagined it'd be like having them over all the time.
Scotland, at least in Sophie's experience, was full of absolutely lovely people. Perhaps that was why she was more comfortable in the vacation destination of New England. She found it similar to home, except Scotland was more mild. It stayed a bit cooler in the summer and just a bit warmer in the winter. "Well- if you travel there and have a full Scottish breakfast... you'll understand how we eat." She chuckled. "Usually yogurt, fruit and juice while you wait for tea, porridge and toast to arrive. Then the real meal starts.... broiled tomato with cheese, Scottish bacon which is more like really thin ham here in America.... tattie scone- well potato." She realized tattie was certainly not american. Sausage link, sauteed mushrooms, one egg, fixed to your liking and finally baked beans and black pudding... which I don' eat... it's a... sausage like thing." She didn't like the idea of pigs blood and fat being mixed with things to call pudding. It certainly wasn't her cup of tea.
Cheering a little she cheered, clapping for herself. "Yay~" She grinned, cheering in a sing song manner. However, she froze mid-clap and just stared at her dance companion. "D'aye wot?" She blinked. "That's a... dance move, right?" She hoped it was- or else California was much more different from home than she'd thought. "I do! So far at least, i think we plan on staying a while. We just need to find a place- the van is great but it's been a year- so... I wouldn't mind a bed that's not on wheels or an actual fridge."
âWell itâs never too late to learn right?â he smiled, âfor all I know we musicians have the beat and rhythm in our veins, so all we got to do is⌠well, listenâ he smiled, standing from his seat.
âSee, dancing ainât that hard!â he laughed, stopping in mid move and taking his seat again after the funny and weird looks towards him, which he obviously ignored. âLike that⌠I guessâ he chuckled. âOh come on, you canât be that bad, I refuse to believe that.â
Sophie giggled and shook  her head. "I- I don't think I do. I might but it's only when it comes to audible rhythm, my body doesn't cooperate v-very well." She blushed and ducked her face back a bit, trying to hide behind her hair.
Laughing lightly at his demonstration. "Oh I... I assure you, I am. I can slow dance with Davie- I've done that at his cousin's wedding but... I can't dance on my own. Not... in public anyway..." She shook her head and took a sip of her drink. If only because she wasn't sure what else to say other than she really truly believed she couldnt' dance.
âHuhâŚâ Jacs let the thought simmer. She wasnât use to very hearty meals or climates that called for them. Ice cream was one of her diet staples, as were burritos and cold sandwiches. On cooler 60 degree days though she craved mac and cheese. âAh- oh! I see. Like a baked alaska? At least I think they use alcohol in there to help the flame. It sounds cold in Scotland. How long have you been here in Cali?â Only now did she think of the drastic change in temperatures would feel like.Â
The latina giggled, âguacâs avocado. I think itâs a vegetable but no one really cares about the label. Thereâs probably a hundred different ways to make guacamole - guac - but thereâs two recipes that I go back and forth between. One spicy and one with a chunkier bite. ItâsâŚoh my god. Itâs like a magic food. Toast, tacos, burritos, chips, other veggies, with chicken⌠it goes almost with anything. But I donât suggest it with chocolate or sweets.â She scrunched her face up in disgust. âNo bueno.â
She smiled a little, silently apologizing. At the interest in the dance moves, Jacs grinned. âSuperman is easy! You just settle your weight on one leg, bring back the other leg as straight as you can and put your arms out- like youâre superman! And flying over Metropolis.â She demonstrated by taking a step out further away from Sophie and struck a superman. âSuper easy! Nae nae is a wee bit more complexâ or just different.â She spaced her feet out about her shoulder length apart and bent her knees, put her butt slightly out and rose one arm in the air. She laughed as she wove her hand around in the air. âIf they could stop with the karaoke and play a song- then I could show you a whole line up!â
"Yeah! Like that! I think? I've never had one but I know they do it with other things too... but it's just for flavor- whatever's left after? Maybe?" She giggled. "I don't really know I can't really cook." And she really probably shouldn't try again. Not after the incident with the blender before they left London. "A couple weeks... but we've been around the west coast for about a month or so...? We stayed another state somewhere around here...I think? It was warm too...." She still wasn't really entirely sure with all the states. She knew some but a few names eluded the young Scot.
"I see... I don't think avocado is very popular in Scotland... it's not used in much. At least not in my house... maybe it's used elsewhere... but it seems like a lighter warm weather... thingy." She shrugged a bit. Toast they had but not with guaca-whatsit. "It probably doesn't go too well with stews either... maybe that's why it's not popular in Scotland." She giggled lightly.
"Ooh... I get it!!!!" She bounced on her toes before she mimicked the superman. She could do that but she didn't quite get how it was a dance move- it was more like playing pretend like she used to do with friends as a child. "I think the point of Open Mic night is so people can sing..." She giggled. "Maybe next time? Davie and I are staying here so we'll be around." She offered instead.

âThatâs true.â He said, nodding thoughtfully. âI think that sounds like a good plan. It depends, of course, on how much of a turn out we get, but itâs worth trying anyway.â It wasnât as though they had a lot of other options right now. He did hope they got a real job soon because he wanted them accomplish their dream.
âWhen do you wanna leave?â He asked. He was quite comfortable laying in bed with her. Motivating himself to get up was not going to be an easy task, he knew that for certain.
"We usually get a pretty good bit in the park- Enough for supper and a couple dollars for savings.â Theyâd saved up a bit from New York to here, but occasionally they had to dip into the savings for sake of not starving for the night. But Harmony, thankfully was full of artists and businesses who relied on artists. And they were go, they often got decent tips, and if they were lucky they could stash over twenty dollars into theirs savings, a fund for when they found a place to stay. That is, until they got proper jobs. Then theyâd have extra, and they could play music together and maybe theyâd get a place of their own and their dream would start unfolding.
âWell... We could go doon taâ that cafe and get some pancakes or waffles and coffee... That might make getting up more worth it...they were just... magic.â She didnât much care to stop herself from letting scottish words slip into her speech. Davie knew them, Davie wouldnât ask what she meant when she said doon instead of down. Plus she was still waking up and couldnât bring herself to be bothered to check the words she used all the time.
âMaybe.â He said, nodding. So many nights heâd spent laying awake wishing things were different. Wondering how long he was going to have Sophie in his life before some guy swooped in and swept her off her feet. There were times when he wanted to just lean down and kiss her, but he couldnât. The idea that she wouldnât return such a gesture, that it would end what they did have was too much to risk.
âWe can. I hadnât really planned it out, honestly.â He knew they needed to motivate themselves to actually get up and get out of bed, but the idea of job hunting again was really unappealing to him. He was tired of trying, though he was far from ready to give up.
Sophie just smiled as he agreed that maybe they could invent something like that... of course she knew it was silly. She knew it wasnât possible. But just the idea of a guarantee that theyâd be there, together. Ugh. She mentally scolded herself for wallowing far too much in the idea of them being together. She needed to pull her thoughts away from the impossible. Away from just wanting to snuggle with Davie.
âWe probably should... but weâve got all day. We could stop by the music shop too... and maybe play in the park a bit? We got pretty good tips there last time and if we canât get a job yet... itâs the best way to get money...â She tilted her head to the side gently and looked at him. He was her lucky charm. When he was around she could play for others too.
