Jotting down notes to help him write up the essay he had due later in the week, Sterling at first didnât notice when the person beside him grabbed his cup of coffee instead of their own after patiently waiting in the long line of the Starbucks on the campus library. Glancing quickly between the other beginning to leave, his own coffee in their hand, and the one theyâd left behind, Sterling considered just letting them leave without saying anything - but heâd already waited almost ten minutes in the line and he was running on little to no sleep and really just wanted nothing more than his venti black coffee. Grabbing the otherâs coffee order quickly, Sterling chased after them, blurting out an awkward, âUm, hello!â Before skidding to a stop after almost running right into them. âOh - sorry, I just - that coffee. Is actually mine.â He explained, pointing to the Sterling that their hand was half covering, before giving them a bashful smile.Â
Madilynâs eyebrows furrowed and she shifted her fingers slightly revealing the foreign name. âOh yeah, --- hey! Youâre nameâs like that guy from Sonny With a Chance.â she laughed, quickly handing him his coffee back. âSorry about that,â she said sincerely with a smile before she took off to head back into the busy Starbucks. However, before her feet could move very far she noticed the other coffee which he held in his other hand. âBy any chance you wouldnât happen to know another Madi who wanted a latte from Starbucks would you,â Madilyn asked hopefully pointing just like he had to the cup which showed the first 4 letters of her name. While Madilyn could just go back to the coffee shop, she was extremely hopeful that the one which the boy held was hers as she did not want to have to walk back in after she had just walked out with a coffee in hand, -- she didnât want the employees to think she was nabbing someone elses coffee. ----- again.
