Basic Stats

Backstory

David is the result of a brief relationship between Gabrielle Haller and Charles Xavier, when Gabrielle discovered she was pregnant after Charles had already left Israel she decided not to tell Charles and to raise their child on her own. Eventually Gabrielle married Daniel Shomron and the two raised David Together.

David was a gentle and shy child. Diagnosed with autism at an early age David never spoke much, at least not to anyone other than his step father and mother. Eventually Gabrielle’s job as an Israeli Diplomat brought their family to paris, where David enjoyed a peaceful childhood. Though his mother was often absent.

(Death TW) However that peace didn’t last; when David was eight several men broke into their family’s home. David’s stepfather stood between their attackers and David, and as a result died directly in front of him. The trauma of this event awakened David’s mutation and before David could comprehend anything that was happening his power lashed out for him instantly killing the people who had attacked their home. In the process David’s mind came into direct contact with the people who had come to hurt his family, and in their dying moments David unintentionally absorbed one of them into his mind. Compounded by the trauma he had just experienced David’s mind fractured into several different personalities, or alters, including the man who had just tried to take his life.

(Abuse TW) The rest David doesn’t truly remember, he spent the next eight years trapped in his mind, which quickly became a trauma shaped warzone. With each of his alters controlling a different mutant ability and all of them warring for control it was inevitable that David’s mutant abilities would begin to manifest in the real world. When he was in his mid-teens the outbursts of his powers became too strong and too frequent for Gabrielle to handle on her own so she brought David to Muir Island so that Dr. Moira MacTaggart could care for him, there Moira and her team kept David restrained and in a medically induced coma and performed several experiments with David and his mind to attempt to help him. When these not only didn’t help but David’s powers became more volatile Moira contacted Charles Xavier for assistance, not knowing that he was in fact David’s father.

The truth came out soon enough though, when Charles arrived and entered David’s mind David immediately recognized the man as his father, despite having never actually seen Charles before in his life, and cried out to him for help. At first Charles’ shock gave David’s alters the chance to force Charles out of their shared headspace, but the realization only strengthened Charles’ resolve to help David. So the next day Charles returned to David’s mind, this time bringing Gabrielle and the New Mutants with him. Together they were able to broker some peace between all his alters, though that peace only benefitted David marginally, as he still wasn’t given much control over anything, with his alters still choosing to assert themselves over David. However David at least got to have a brief meeting with his father, and Charles promised not to leave him again, despite that promise quickly proving impossible to keep.

(Abuse TW, Death Ment) However David was still deemed too dangerous to be safely contained and he was still kept in a medically induced coma except for when his parents were present and he was being experimented on for ways to ‘fix’ his mind. Things carry on like this for two years until the Shadow King posses David, using David’s abilities to almost destroy the X-Men as he assaults Muir Island. The Shadow King also used the fact that he had taken David’s body to taunt Charles, claiming that David loved the destruction he was using David’s body to enact, but the truth was that when the Shadow King entered David’s body it broke David and left him powerless to do anything but watch. Though David could still hear the thoughts of those around him, could tell not only the X-Men but his own father believed the lies the Shadow King told. Felt them begin to feel that he was nothing more than a monster. So David simply sank deeper into his mind, so far back that he could no longer hear anyone else’s thoughts or see the terrible things his body was being used to do. And when the Shadow King left David slipped into a coma. Charles attempted to enter David’s one last time, but what little signs of life he found were brushed off by the X-Men who encouraged Charles to accept his child’s death. After all it was probably for the best in their eyes. David was transferred by his mother to Tel Aviv and placed under the best medical care money could buy in hopes that one day David would wake up.

It took a year, but when David came to he had no interest in seeing his mother or father or anyone from his old life. So while the ethics were questionable he simply made the nurse who had seen him wake up forget that she had and then left the hospital and the country. He didn’t know where he wanted to go but he wanted to be as far away from anything he knew as possible. David travelled the world for a while, but after several months found that his mind had become too unstable for him to handle alone. Where there were once three main alters there were now hundreds, splintering more and more and quickly approaching thousands. Without another option David goes to his father and the X-Men to help. The X-Men may have hated him, but Charles finally made good on his promises not to abandon him and to help him however he could. With the help of other mutants David was able to contain his alters, and the school also developed his neural switchboard, allowing him to safely if briefly access his alters and the mutant abilities of his they contained.

And then David just hung out with the X-Men until the world ended thank you and I’m sorry this was so long.

Powers

David is an incredibly powerful mutant with basically every power in the books (reality warping, time travel, ect.) but for the sake of this RP I’m going to say that David has his Neural Switchboard, but can only safely access some of his abilities. Those abilities being

Telepathy

Telekinesis

Pyrokinesis

Probably some of the other funny but harmless ones (IE: David can conically function as a cell phone, which is basically useless in a fight but it is hilarious)

In terms of physical ability David isn’t actually very strong, not does he have much stamina, he spent the the entirety of his teens in a hospital bed. He’s had a few years to train but he’s still pretty weak, you will not catch him running in any marathons or handling a one on one fight without his powers.
