“That time my father thought Malus was a good name for his human ““disguise.””

Adorable? Such words should not be used to describe Alucard. The Dhampir crossed his arms, hoping his pout would not make him look “cuter.” 

There was no way Alucard would let anyone believe that he was adorable. The notion of being “adorable” would make intimidating enemies impossible, and he would lose respect among his peers if such word got out. He would put an end to this absurd statement here and now. With one swift motion, he removed his now “accursed” sunglasses to glare into the eyes of Esme. “There is nothing adorable about me Esme.” He said firmly, showing a hint of his sharp teeth. “You would do well to learn this.” 

 Apart from ruining Alucard’s reputation, the mere idea of him being adorable to anyone flabbgasted him. He was a very beautiful man, used to compliments about his appearance, but no one ever called him “adorable.” What did Esme mean by this? He doubted that the vampire was trying to be disrespectful, Esme was always polite to him. Perhaps he just wanted to compliment the Dhampir, and did not realize the offense he caused. 

“Humans are strange creatures. I’ve always been fascinated by them. The things they invent are amazing.” He’s talking about the video game system in his hands. He’s been playing a Pokemon game on it for hours on end.

“You are playing a video game I presume?” Alucard asked as he started down at the device Malachai was using. On it was a colorful little monster, that Malachai was trying to trap with a red and white ball. Alucard recognized the game, he had seen several youth playing it years ago. “I believe it’s called Pokémon.” The Dhampir said with a smile, feeling proud that he knew about modern day technology.

A blink, and he watched as Arikado began to inspect his hands. “Oh, you– “ A wave of protest had begun to well up once again, only to melt away when he found concern clear and evident in the Dhampir’s eyes. A sheepish cough, and he awkwardly avoided his gaze by turning his head.

“I… usually keep to myself when it comes to other vampires or beings.” He admitted, his weight shifting from one foot or the other. It was all fun and games until someone began to actually worry for his well-being. “If I find myself in a tight spot, I run away. If I suspect there to be danger, I hide myself. Aha, rather silly for a vampire, yes?”

But, he gathered to courage to face Arikado again and offered a reassuring smile. “I’ve been fine before and I am fine now. You need not worry, though I am grateful for your concern.”

He ignored Eros’s protest, focusing on what the vampire was saying. His plan was to run away? If only life were to be that simple, were one could simply flee from attackers. Alucard had to face battles head on, he could not afford the luxury of running away from monsters.

Though Alucard did understand why Eros would wish to avoid fighting with others. The musician did not appear to have a fighting spirit, he was kinder more, gentle individual. “You may have been fine before, but what if you are not in the future?” He asked. “What do you plan to do if you cannot run away? Or hide? You should at least know how to fight if you cannot escape.” If Eros did not have any fighting skills, the Dhampir would be more than willing to teach his companion basic self defense skills and even more advanced techniques as time went on.
