Bruce kept his eyes on the monitor screens of the surveillance station, giving no physical sign that he was actually listening to Guy. Though the two had managed to develop a more civilized relationship in the past year, the detective still held his reservations when it came to the former red lantern, being able to work together not erasing the fact their personalities never failed to clash. Normally, it wasn’t much of an issue, the two rarely crossing paths or spending time one on one. Now that they both were staying in the Watchtower however, it was obvious they’d have to properly learn to get along, which Bruce wasn’t sure how he felt about that. “There’s plenty of space to clear my head in here,” he replied, pausing for a moment. “–But thanks.”

JON SMILES BRIGHTLY up at the older man when he sees him walk into the lounge. “You’re one of those Green Lanterns right?” He asks in awe. “I’ve never met one of you before! This is so cool.” Now that they would all be living on the Watchtower together he was preparing himself to meet a lot of new heroes. 

Kara was half way to the end of the packet of mini chocolate donuts when she sensed someone had entered the kitchen, the familiar heartbeat and voice that followed putting a wide smile on her lips. She turned to face the man, chuckling lightly at his words, hurrying towards him and offering Guy a hug. Not many people appreciated the company of the Green Lantern, dismissing him as simply reckless and arrogant. However, Kara had seen a very different side of Guy than most had the chance to, regarding the man as not only a mentor, but her friend. “It’s hard to avoid trouble, especially these days,” she replied, taking a step back to look him over. “I’m so glad to see you.”

The way they’d met might not have been Guy’s preference, but he’s happy to see Kara again regardless. She’d been a good friend, and even she’d had a lot to learn Guy saw so much potential in her - and so much of himself in her, whether that was good or bad. He can’t help but grin when she runs up for a hug, wrapping his arms around the girl with ease. “What, y’miss me or somethin’?” He asks, though his voice is a little softer than usual as he gives her a gentle squeeze before letting her go again. “Oh yeah? I bet y’don’t exactly try and avoid it, though.” He chuckles softly. “M’glad t’see you too, kid.”

His hand clapped against Gardner’s shoulder and he knew immediately that he was probably trying too hard to keep things friendly between them, overstepping into the other direction that they usually went. Closed spaces and Guy Gardner was never his favorite combination, but he could keep it friendly for now. It would be easier for both of them if they just didn’t get into any of their usual arguments. 

Their fights were never usually personal though, that’s how they could still call each other friends despite his face meeting the business end of Guy’s fist and Guy’s face meeting his. But was it so wrong to try and keep the peace?

“Oh, what’d John have you doing? Or was it from the Guardians?”

It’s more than obvious to him that Hal is trying way too hard, that he’s putting a lot of effort into trying to keep things civil. He can’t blame him entirely, but he also wishes Hal would drop it. At least that way he’d actually know where things stand. This, though... is a little different, and kinda weird.

Still, for his sake, Kyle’s sake, and the sake of everyone else on the Watchtower, it’s probably better to try not to argue, so he’ll keep up with it for the time being.

“WHAT DO YOU SAY we get out of here for a few hours?” Kyle asks as he sits down on the edge of their bed. It was nice that they could leave considering they still had a job to do. “We don’t have to go anywhere really, unless there’s somewhere close? I think just the two of us flying around could be fun. We’ll be alone, just you and me.”

It was almost like a scene from a movie, Hal thought somewhere in the back of his mind. Two people racing towards each other, crashing into something bigger than themselves. But instead of a confession of something, or even a kiss, the only thought on his mind as he rushed towards Guy Gardner was that one of them was probably going to get punched right in the face. Either that or he’d buy Guy a beer, the universe hadn’t quite decided how their conversation would go.

Still, it was always better to start things out with a smile, to assume things would go well.

“Hey, Gardner!” He half-yelled, “When the hell did you get here?”

He held out his fist, the one with the ring on it, in a silent request for a fist bump.

It’s no secret that Hal is not his favourite person. They just never quite seem to get along - something about him and his cocky attitude and the way everyone thinks he’s the best out there rubs Guy the wrong way, especially considering all the times he’s done wrong by Guy. Which is more times than he can count. Still, they’re not enemies - they might never be the closest of friends, but they are friends and that’s enough.

Besides, considering they’re all practically stuck on the Watchtower together, he figures it’s better not to antagonise the man until Hal gives him a reason to do so.

Maybe he shouldn’t be so surprised to see Kara when he walks into the kitchen to find a snack - he gets the feeling that’s gonna happen a lot while he’s here, considering everyone’s stuck on the Watchtower for a while. Still, it is good to see her, and even better to see she’s still managed to keep that Red ring off her finger. Kara’d made a good Red when she’d been with ‘em, but that doesn’t mean he wanted a kid like her to have to feel that way. "I’d ask if y’been stayin’ outta trouble, but somethin’ tells me I already know the answer.” He says with a fond smile on his face.
