I can’t decide what she’s singing at the start but the overall theme is coming back to something familiar. Not wanting to go home without the “immovable friend” she came back to find?? And “I don’t wanna be a machete to a meadow” basically means that she doesn’t want to destroy something that’s beautiful and delicate, and a place where you’re most likely to find a well worn path.
I might be wrong, and it’s not the full song but so far it does sound hopeful, particularly when you combine it with some other crumbs we’ve got.
