"just to disappear in the end" I'm sorry anon, but were you present during those weeks/days and can say objectively what happened and led to the breakup? The songs do paint a specific picture, I'm not denying that, but we have no idea if that picture is accurate or not. We have no idea if he actually disappeared or if he just was dealing with too much and couldn't be present in the relationship or communicate his need for space properly or what, we have no idea if Hayley potentially was also dealing with stuff that made it so she had to prioritise her own mental health and not helping him or keeping the relationship afloat. Some people have a very black and white opinion of what happened, but the truth is, it's likely way more grey than we think. Hayley has talked about struggling in the beginning of last year too, and while that could be because of the breakup, it also could have been something that contributed, if both were struggling at the same time and both needed to get their mental health back in check. We truly don't know anything. The songs aren't objective, and some of them could be in part about the first breakup as well. What we do know is that she doesn't hold a grudge against him, she's understanding. And her family doesn't seem to hold a grudge either, if he truly hurt her intentionally i doubt the album would be as full of love as it is, and her pretty much vowing she'll love him forever and will be waiting for him forever, or that her own grandfather would be saying he loves Taylor at his birthday, which would be (if we have the timeline right) a couple of weeks after the breakup or would be still liking tayley and Taylor pictures a year and a half after. It may not be something to base our theory about their current status on, but i don't think he would be liking those pictures if T had (intentionally) hurt his granddaughter. These people actually know and care and love Hayley, and unlike us know what happened, and yet hold no ill will against him, and seemingly have no problem with them reconciliating, so i don't see why some of you act that way. Nobody that actually has any idea about what happened, and was potentially affected by it as well, hates Taylor, so why are some of you when his hypothetical (since once again we don't know shit) actions had no effect on you?

I think him seeing her go through all of that just to to disappear in the end is pretty fucked up but ofc no one posting here lives in reality 😭 emotionally unavailable once 10 years ago? lol no babes she literally describes it as his pattern on this album in the present so it must’ve been apart of his overall personality the whole time. at this point it really does make it seem like he really only wanted her physically like every other guy. no wonder she questions that on the album.

Here’s another funny coincidence, the Wattpad fanfic im currently reading is dealing with the 2017/2018 after laughter era where Hayley would’ve supposedly been "freaked out” and it’s actually kind of sad the direction they decided to take it. It essentially chronicles Hayley’s divorce and finding out shes being cheated on and struggling with aggressive panic attacks, depression, drastic mood swings, and just being overall snappy and needy (especially towards T). She’s being an emotional wreck over the pain of it, and the confusion of wanting to be with her friend to get over it, while simultaneously feeling guilty for hurting him, and hurting herself, also because she wants more and knows he wants more but is ultimately afraid of getting hurt again and or destroying their friendship, band and more. Just an endless loop of misery. So she ended up having a full mental breakdown decline throughout the tour. I’m not finished but I’m guessing it might end with her going to the facility for intensive therapy and treatment.

I’m so tired of the joever anons to cherry pic “evidence” and then be so snarky about it. Not once would they ever notice a positive sign as significant, it’s only the negative signs that matter. If you’re gonna think her liking that song means something negative then her posting that Mary in the junkyard song could very well mean something positive. If you’re gonna use that logic then apply it for everything. I don’t think it means much because it’s a new song and she probably just likes it. The same with her posting that Carly Rae Jepsen song a few weeks ago (a song about yearning and having desire for someone). At least us nuanced anons can think a little bit longer, not thinking everything must be about him.
