Write it anyway, write it anyway, write it anyway.

There are so, so, so many reasons:

You gain that skill level only through practice. So practice.

No matter what you’re writing, no matter how badly you think you’ve written it, there is ALWAYS some audience that will love it and cherish it.

You can use what you write the first time around as a first draft and just rewrite it again later when you feel like tackling the story again!

Rewriting the same story over and over is a valid writing process. It’s literally just creating new drafts. Each iteration will be better than the last, because each is building on your growing skill and experience.

If you love the story, it will always be worth telling simply for your own enjoyment. If no one else ever sees it, that’s okay! Your art should be for you first, anyway.

What do you look for in a book?

She’s fun, loud, flirty and above all, s a s s y. She’s full of confidence, and is always giving people little pushes in the right direction and she always takes care of her loved ones. Despite her confident appearance, she’s quite fragile and takes a lot of things to heart but hides it. She’s so good at it, people tend to think she’s just this sunny, confident person when she really is just a person.

She’s from an alien planet called Phexia, and she’s a Phexian. She’s tall, has long pointy ears that stick out to the side (with a bunch of earrings). Her favourite feature about herself is her hair. She has fluffy, vibrant, fire coloured hair. It’s pretty short, and in a sort of pixie-bob-style-thing. Her eyes are orange, with flecks of red and yellow in them. 

In short, we love Nova.

To answer your questions, Dorian, Laelie and Charlie all go to the same school (in a fictional place in the US that I’m yet to decide a name on. More on that later). Dorian was nearing his last year of school, and was planning on taking a gap year to find his ‘passion’ (meaning pick a sport that he’s going to stick to for the rest of his life). He excelled in sports so he wouldn’t have an issue getting into a semi-professional team.

Laelie was focusing on business studies, because she wanted to run a business in the future, preferably something to do with fashion or book publishing. She was the best student in her year, and was known around school as ‘the image of the perfect student’.

Charlie wanted to pursue a photography career as a photographer for nature magazines, but his ultimate goal was to have a photo (he took) on a famous person’s wall. He focused a lot on his photography, so he wasn’t doing as well in school as Laelie, but he preferred to do his own thing anyways.

‘The gang’ (Charlie, Laelie and Dorian) often hung out when they weren’t doing activities, since they all lived in the same neighbourhood. They met when Charlie moved to (the town) when he was 3 (he got adopted into a wonderful family consisting of Jane and Kristina Kent). Ever since, they’d been inseparable. 

Tobias had been homeschooled since he was 11, due to past trauma when he was bullied because of his eyes as a child. He grew a fear of people after that, thinking that being different was bad and that he should be just like everybody else. He had one friend (apart from his parents), which was a cleaner who worked at his house who was roughly 2 years older than him. She would be the one to lead him to Dorian, Laelie and Charlie.

AWGW is set in a fictional town in the US in the near future. World War 3 has broken out, but it hasn’t impacted the town they all live in as much since it’s a very small and not very famous town. I’ve yet to name the town.
