sweet little baby in a world full of pain

For someone who has been here for more than a week already, she has done a good job of avoiding everyone else and keeping mostly to herself. Other than her first day, she hasn't really talked to anyone else. Lounging on the couch in her suite with a book on hand, she heard a knock on the door. Considering that she wasn't expecting anyone, she was a little intrigued of who it may be. "Uhm-- come in?" the young brunette called out, putting the book down as she curiously tilted her head to see who it was.

Delilah slowly retracted her hand from the other girl's shoulder when they frowned, casting her eyes downwards as she murmured a sorry. Almost sure that they would want her to leave, she was preparing to stand up but her answer caught her aback. "Distract you? I'm not good at telling stories though but I could sing you a song instead?" she offered with a weak smile. She knew a lot of stories but she wasn't really great at telling them and honestly, she'd rather be the one being read to.

A frown appeared on her face when the other girl admitted that she wasn't alright. She hated seeing people sad but she knew better than to pry, especially when they don't even know each other. Tentatively, she reached to touch her shoulder in what she hoped would be a soothing manner as she murmured, "I'm sure you will be. Do you want me to leave you alone?"

Offering her a meek smile, she crouched down next to her since she felt a little awkward standing up while talking to someone lying down. Wrapping her arms around her knees, she tilted her head a little as she asked her quietly, "Are you alright?" It was the middle of the night and she didn't really expect to see someone else down by the beach.

Arriving in the later hours of the night, the brunette couldn't sleep just yet because she slept most of the time in her flight to the island. Instead of staying inside her suite, Delilah decided to make her way outside to explore. Outside, it was dark and the waves were crashing against the shore. Part of her still felt silly for running away like this but she didn't want to marry someone her father thought would be a good match for her, even if she didn't even know who it was. Feeling the night breeze blowing through her skin, she wrapped her arms around her self as she pulled the sleeves of her sweater. Walking aimlessly, she didn't noticed the girl lying on the sand until she almost tripped on her legs. Her initial reaction was to see if she was alive and she was relieved to see her opened eyes. "Hi-- sorry, I didn't see you there."
