Cordelia still wasn't sure the entire thing about activating all the slayers had been such a smart thing.

Of course, the idea of a lot of Buffys and Faiths running about was a bad idea itself. But what about those that didn't have a healthy understanding about whatever happened to them?

She couldn't help but think about when she first got her vision. While she loved Doyle and it was a honor to recieve his visions, it had majorly fucked up her life. Even if she felt guilt wash over her just from thinking that. Doyle gave her the most important he had, and she treasured them.

"Life would be far more peaceful if Andrew was dead. But no. He's not." Cordelia shrugged, before raising an eyebrow at her. "My visions showed me you were in real danger. Like, well, basically. I saw you being killed by a demon. Claws deep in your back. It was terrifying. Is Giles still in this hell hole or what? He might be able to recognize the demon." Cordelia's words were rushed and it was obvious that she was serious about it.

"Cordyyy...," Since when did she ever have much concern for her? Well, not that it had never happened.

Oh, no...

Whatever was going to happen must be bad if Cordelia had become such a massive... empath? Buffy eyed the brunette now almost incredulously, faintly squinting blue-green eyes.

Once again, the Apocalypse was here and this time, the breaking of a prophecy seemed to have catastrophic consequences. Could prophecies stop being such a thing? It threatened to break the planet with the very things that Mankind has attempted to misuse.

Cordelia's visions were a new thing Buffy wasn't quite used to, but it didn't seem to surprise her that she would have her own brush with the supernatural at some point. Well, more like a shove with the supernatural. The supernatural seemed to have been following her for a very long too, which had only now seemed odd to Buffy in retrospect.

And now she had come bearing messages of death and destruction, too. Yay.

Resisting the slightly-drunken urge to roll her eyes like a tired brat, Buffy stood firm and listened to the other woman speak. Life was a strange chessboard these days, and one of the biggest pieces on the board to seemingly everyone Buffy ran into these days was Wolfram & Hart.

The mention of 'Death' didn't seem to phase quite like it used to, the blonde noted to herself. Although, with the flashing images of her little sister, lost and alone, she struggled to settle calmly into this uncertainty.

"I see."

Not even in Death could she find Peace.

But it was, strangely enough, touching to see Cordelia showing genuine worry for the Slayer. And at the mention of Giles, Buffy felt herself further pale.

"Giles is in England, of course... He's settled down somewhere, not sure when he's planning on visiting next..." Hearing her own voice saying these words now was suddenly terrifying. The gravity of the situation was fully dawning on her. Sure, she had her friends... But she was hellbent on letting them finally have normal lives. Not to mention a lot of these metaphysical matters were so dangerous.

The sudden silence that followed her words was somehow causing her ears to ring, strands of visual auras swarming by in her now sobering state.

This night was so not fun anymore.

"Listen up, Buff. Here I am, risking my own god damn life for you, and all you can whine about is Faith? You are in danger, girl. Real danger." Cordelia crossed her arms, giving the blond a hard stare. Cordelia didn't really know what their...whatever, was called. They weren't friends. Like really. As if! 

Yet, Cordelia had been terrified when she got that vision. Well, after she was done screaming her head out. Why did the visions even need to hurt? They'd still matter. But yeah, she had been terrified. Buffy's life was at stake and Cordelia knew that Sunnydale depended on the slayer. Also, Buffy had saved her. Too many times for Cordy not to feel as if she was in debt. Even if she didn't like it. 

Faith?! Oh, boy... Buffy felt her half-drunken self facepalm in response to Cordelia's assumption.

"No, not Faith! Although- okay, yes, I am concerned for Prison Girl. But... Angel didn't tell you? Andrew left to go get her... Another Slayer. I'm not sure if she's still active, but she was alive-"

She stopped her own rambling now, realizing Cordelia might not even know what Buffy was blabbing about.

"I sent Andrew for intel, but he hasn't come back." She rolled her eyes and felt her arms cross.

Fantastic. Angel hadn't told anyone anything. Typical.

Or....

Now cue Buffy's yikes face.

"He... He's not dead, is he?"

Standing up a bit straighter, Buffy was internally criticizing herself, her poker face slowly returning. Gods, she had relaxed far too quickly tonight, it seemed.

"Did Angel tell you anything? I swear, even when he's literally on a team-"

The blonde woman would sigh, feeling herself truly resigning to the situation at hand. For all they knew, something was about to go down.

"I'm not going to the Council again. They will seriously be of no help..."

And once again, being carless, Buffy was at the mercy of whatever situation had come to her, basically. She looked around a bit as they further exited the building, Buffy's eyes scanning the lot.

"I'm in danger? I don't think I get what's going on here..."

It felt as if years had gone by, since Cordelia last stepped feet inside the pesky town of Sunnydale. Everything had changed for Cordy. She wasn't the same girl she was back then. Yet, the sight of that stupid Sunnydale sign brought all her insecurities back. She longed for her apartment, her friends. Sunnydale had nothing for her anymore. Popularity and everything like that felt like...so utterly unimportant to her these days.

She didn't want to go back, but that stupid cry Buffy needed her help. She parked her car and got out. Gone was designer clothes, replaced by tired eyes. Her visions was taking it's toll on her.

The Bronze. A fond smile grazed her lips before she walked inside. She wore a mask, a mask of a bright, yet still somehow snarky smile. She wasn't letting her guard down and even if popularity didn't seem important anymore, she still wanted to be like.

She saw the blond with her friends. Were they her friends as well? She didn't know anymore. She shot Xander a hard look before turning back to the blonde slayer.

The dancefloor called out to the blonde, beckoning to transform her Slayerness; to numb the duties and honestly sometimes really harsh realities of death for just one night. Oh, The Bronze. Her reliable, sturdy, sometimes smelly Rock in a cruel world of neverending literal life & death responsibility.

And, okay, Buffy was a hair tipsy. But only a hair!

And it was Friday night, whatever that meant. And if Buffy was being real, having to see and work alongside Angel again, at his firm had begun to stir up some not-so-pleasant pangs in the chest and gut. So much had happened in such a short amount of time and it was so about time she got some good, old-fashioned GET OVER IT time in.

As she nursed her vodka cranberry, Buffy stirred the ice in her drink with her tiny straw in slight celebratory rebellion, but felt her gaze pull towards the door, almost in second-nature to make way for that very specific energy-

Cordelia.

Great.

She hadn't realized just how prompt Cordelia would be when she initially asked for her help, but she should have known she'd also be operating on her own time and impatient.

Buffy supposed she'd have to get her dancing shoes on again later. Sipping the last of her drink, the Slayer rose before she'd even said her name, following her smoothly toward the back doors of the venue.

As soon as they were far from the patrons' earshot,

"Have you or Angel encountered the rogue Slayer yet?"

Now Buffy was the one sounding impatient.

The battle was won . . .

. . . but Tara Maclay's place of rest was gone, reduced to the ashes of a battle that felt eternal. Every special place in Sunnydale that Willow had to remember their dates, time, laughs, and private moments? Gone.

Not to mention Anya. And so many others.

A new adventure. A new town. A new start.

The woman stared hard in the mirror, blonde brows furrowed in sudden confusion that seemed to awash the face entirely upon a moment's notice. She studied her face, noting the kept appearance; plucked eyebrows, fair, albeit tear-stained complexion.

Blank expression.

The odd disconnect between the tears she saw on her face, and the nothing she felt within now... No, not nothing. Just... Confusion. She turned now, arms almost trembling in panic at the sudden urgency behind the door.

Hello?!

Scrambling to her feet now, the woman left behind all potential clues in her room for rushing to open the door.

Although, something stopped her. Instead of rushing, she took sudden pause and carefully, slowly began to turn the knob.

"....Hello?," came her awkward reply as her eyes darted around in an almost animated amount of skepticism and caution.

The slow creaking of the door as it opened to reveal who was on the other side. Right now the blonde wasn't certain if she were in a house or an apartment at this moment. It was strange that she couldn't remember where she was or how she even got there. Was this a dream? It surely felt like it.

Inside of her home?

"I could ask you the same thing...," she stated sort of... meekly, her mind still clearly reeling as she looked past the other.

This was odd, to say the least. Brows still furrowed, her gaze quickly cast back around the hall now, trying to capture every detail that could help make sense of something...

"Your home?," she repeated, brows knitting as though somehow she were being pranked...

Cognitive dissonance washed over the woman's countenance. She seemed a little more calm than she had previously. Though , the potential of being lied to was still a small, present fear. Should she let on that she couldn't remember anything? That didn't seem a wise move...

There had to be a smarter way of testing this...

Lightbulb moment!!

"Okay... Then. What's the zip code of this neighborhood?"

Her voice was calm and quiet, measured.

She surely didn't know the zip code, but figured if she kept her poker face... She skewered the other woman with her eyes and remained still. Not too still... [Look intimidating. Not confused....]

Either this auburn-haired woman was completely bonkers or...

No, this couldn't be right...

There was a photograph of the two on the nearby bulletin board ahead of the blonde's vision, seeming to catch her eye almost in defiance of her belief.

"Holy...," she breathed. Her spirit could have left her body then and there.

She was frozen, staring at the series of photos of the two- and solo, and with other friends... Had they both seemed to have forgotten...? All of this was beginning to feel very surreal and...

God, she wasn't even sure she could remember her own name!
