He gave an over dramatic groan, as he stood, moved to the DVDs and put them back in their  rightful cases. “Sähggling.”

         with a huff, he flops onto          his side on  the sofa, his          intention  to   ignore  the           other  until  he  properly                   apologized.

“I think you mean hilarious, liebling.”

      ‘ ……. …. — ‘

He puts the DVDs (in their incorrect cases) back onto the shelf and moves back to the sofa, with a smug look.

   ‘ that’s so strange, D E A R,                 because i would PREFER                           them to be alphabetized. — ‘

   He smirks before making a    show of switching two DVDs    from their cases.

     ‘ ACTUALLY, it’s my way of gently reminding               you that the alphabet does not go “ABCDE— L “                   & would you please PLEASE put things back                        where they belong. — ‘

“Mmm, gently reminding me.      And sure, these may no longer be in       alphabetical order, but they’re in order         of preference. ”

‘ have you ANY idea how long           it took to organize ALL of those?? — ‘

“Isn’t that just your way of telling  me not to touch your stuff?”

how kind of you, lovely. am I getting pancakes as well, or does your generosity only extend so far?

Of course you get pancakes. With your age written in whipped cream on top. And by your age I mean three years less than your real age.

Anyway, on your birthday I shall be there to keep as much of your sanity as you have left - safely in tact.

'keeping me sane' implies that I was sane to begin with. let's not make hasty inferences.

i am allowed to ‘freak out’ if i want to. not everyone ages as gracefully as yourself, love.

Of course you are liebling, but someone has to try and keep you sane. 

i’m sure they won’t be fading anytime soon, dear. age is but a number, after all.

I’ll remember you said that next time you’re freaking out over your own age.

you certainly will. i do hope I’ll get to watch it happen. we can compare the gracefulness of our fading youth together.

Well unfortunately that’s unrealistic. And I happen to think that when the inevitable time comes, that you will age very gracefully.
