Cheryl Blossom

“you’re right, cheryl. while we’re talking about envy, i definitely envy your house. i bet you could throw some awesome parties with the bulldogs and vixens! you seem to have elected yourself queen of chaos when we held jughead’s birthday, right?” he nods at his attempt to make the conversation lighter so that he wouldn’t make her uncomfortable. “well, you know that team varchie are always available for hangouts if that helps! i’m sure we can find something to do. yeah, nobody ever seems to shut up about that game. i haven’t played it too much. what’s so appealing about the title ‘gryphons and gargoyles’ anyway? what did you find out?”

     "oh, i almost forgot about that, sorry about that though” she says with almost a small smile “however, i do enjoy throwing parties but is not like I feel in the mood lately, at least not for now” the redhead said, looking at him and it was really true, way too much, because cheryl didn’t feel like having fun, not until everything is over with her mother “that sounds good but i would also invite someone else, i don’t want to be the third wheel, especially when your favorite hobby is making out” and she didn’t feel in the mood to see that show, enough was in school “is just a game, according to me. i was just reading the rules, we need to play it in group to work things out and someone has roles and  to me would be a bit geeky but i kind of want to see how that can go, are you up for a game? i know they banned that game but no one needs to know”

angel shrugged. “does the trick i guess,” she replied. she glanced over at the other red head. she couldn’t even tell the people closest to her, she wasn’t going to share her deepest secret to cheryl blossom. “makes sense. it’s just easier for me to do it here,” she said simply. 

    the redhead just shrugged about that, taking a sip from her drink. everything here was so DAMN COMPLICATED. she was hating all of this “yeah, well, this place is actualy the best place in town, for now at least since now everything belongs to Hiram Lodge”

She cared about him? Far from it. If she cared, she wouldn’t have cheated on him like that. He was over her in that sense. Moose just felt like he lost a best friend. Of course he wasn’t going to twist Cheryl’s or anyone else’s image of her. Midge was dead and while he did miss her sometimes, everyone else who was in her life had been affected by it too.

“Yeah I guess so.” He didn’t say anything else on the matter. Talking about his ex was something he didn’t really want to do and had avoided it all summer. “Rather just not talk about it.”

  "that’s okay, i can get it” she says looking now at him with a small sigh escaping from her lips, crossing her arms and looking at the other one “so tell me, how was everything? i mean, i haven’t been able to pay much attention there in school”

“you know,  I believe you.” cheryl often did exactly what she would say she’s doing. even when she was doing mischievous things she would admit to it. kevin hadn’t really ever hang out with the serpents except for when he dated joaquin. “i’m sure we will figure it out.” kevin realized he had a question for cheryl. “hey cheryl..can I ask you a question about the vixens?”

    "of course, you know me, you know i would do exactly what i say, i’m not afraid to admit that” she usually was very blunt when it comes to that, the girl just couldn’t help herself to be like that “i hope you are right about that” now that question made her a bit curious “sure, what’s up?” the girl asked, expecting for his question, it was weird him asking for the vixens but this must be important.

“It’s.. a little different? Or at least feels like it. She may have been a huge part of my life but she was also my ex.” He grabs another fry from the basket in front of him. While Midge was a good friend, she wasn’t the greatest girlfriend. Now with him… involved with someone else, he felt guilty whenever he thought about her. “I’m sure Jason is keeping her company.”

   "so what?” she asked looking at him “she was still a human being and your ex or not, she cared for you a lot, moose, it doesn’t hurt to miss her or to think about her, i mean, she was a huge part of your life because she was your girlfriend and nothing will change that” she speaks the truth, always try to keep it real and it was just how that way, midge was a good person and she was still angry about all of that, how everything happened.

he smiled, already happy that his order was arriving because he called in advanced. “they are becoming a needle in everyone’s skin now. my dad being the sheriff of the southside now talks about it all the time.” it was great that the serpents weren’t getting in unnecessary legal trouble now that their functioning was nowhere near violent. kevin was still in shock that cheryl blossom ended up joining the serpents, but it seemed like everything was changing. “your mom really loves causing trouble. i don’t understand why people in this town, mainly the adults, are so obessed with greed. we have to do everything ourselves all the time it seems.” 

     "if i could, i would’ve shoot them with my arrow so they leave town right away” she muttered, chery didn’t like the ghoulies at all and for everything that they did she has all the right to hate them, besides, is not the fact that she was a serpent but also the fact that she’s a northsider and obviously she was going to just try and protect her friends “i know, not sure either but at this point i just don’t care anymore” 

Immediately noticing the baby serpent Patty let a smirk form on her face as she made her way over to her. “Perfect.” she said in a smug tone as she set her plate of fries down, popping a few into her mouth. “A dinner with Cheryl Blossom, isn’t that something you would win in a contest?” 

    "in that case you should embrace the moment and enjoy it, right?” she says with a small smile, sarcastic but she didn’t care, right now cheryl could be anything but now she was trying to improve and she was doing great, however, sometimes her personality was just too strong.

angel still wasn’t sure how to react to the northsider turned serpent. she slid into the seat and nodded. “yeah i’ve been there. this is usually where i do my homework,” she commented. 

     “nice place to do your homework, i guess” she muttered taking now another sip from her milkshake “i don’t do my homework here, i prefer to wait to be at home and doing that before i go to sleep”

“i have no idea what it’s like to go through what you did with your mother and uncle, but i know that they’re definitely missing out. i’m glad you found some relief from their wrongs.” he sympathized for the unfair treatment that he noticed from her family, remembering that at one point of their lives, archie saw the cheryl that was scared from losing her brother—the cheryl that was good and kind behind the fear. “yeah, my parents are.. crazy amazing. it’s tough being away from my mom sometimes, though. my dad deserves a damn break for all the work he does when he doesn’t get the same effort back—i’m super lucky.”

    "i didn’t, just...if something as dark and horrible like they are, well, you need to see or try to see a positive side and the positive side is that they are not living with me but stay at my house is still lonely, you know my house, is not like thornhill but is also big” it was and that was at least something that her dad left, money but money didn’t buy what she wanted and needed, sadly “yeah i can get that, it’s nice you have your parents, i always envy that a bit, except when i used to have jay-jay around, i used to feel less alone but now, i’ve been so bored that actually i’ve been starting to read a bit about that nerdy game that they are trying to keep us away from, i still don’t get that actually”

angel had headed towards pops to do a little homework. it was really the only place she could get it done. angel sighed as she looked around for a seat before turning when she heard the voice. she eyed the seat before sliding into the chair. “thanks.”

    "aha...” she muttered a bit distracted taking another sip from her drink and then looking at the redhead, she was a serpent just like her, only that they really haven’t speak that much, is not like she knows everyone from that gang, they were a lot “drinking alone it’s a bit depressing”

“you deserve some alone time, i can’t imagine how irritating it gets with them following your every move. i’m sure with your house being as big as it is, it can get pretty lonely! i’m always up to hang out, of course. maybe you can teach me archery or something.” he grins, resting his chin in the palm of his hand. “she’s handling some stuff, i’m just as shocked as you are! i’m barely surviving without her, and everything that’s going on with her parents—i can’t say that i’m not worried about her.”

     "it can be very irritating, i’m the captain of the team but that doesn’t mean that we are really friends, not with all of them either way. you want to learn archery? i’m all up for that, i mean, yes, it’s pretty lonely but it’s better than to deal with my mom and uncle there” either way, she was hoping for both to just get the hell out of her life “that’s sweet, she will be okay though. some people are facing their demons, us, well, it turnes out our parents are our demons, you got lucky in that department”

“Yeah. I try not to think of her a lot of the time but she still slips into my mind occasionally.” Moose hated how it would bother him all day if he thought of his ex. How he’d replay what could have changed, a way for her to be here. Then the guilt would come. He had something good with Kevin, why would he need to think of his ex? “But I guess she’s better wherever she is than here. And I’m starting to be happy again.”

    "what’s wrong about that? i think about jay-jay all the time, i want to think he’s always with me trying to lead me in the right path for a change” she says now with a small smile, it was nice to remember him even if it hurts that he wasn’t here with her, at first it was painful but she knew that she couldn’t forget him “midge was really nice, i better she’s with jay-jay, looking after us, i need to think there is a beyond to not go myself crazy”

“It’s a complicated thing. A parents job should always be to better their child. But life around us gets in the way.” Fred was the man he was today because he chose to look at things differently. “My parents had very little to do with how I am today. It’s just how life is to people. Sadly, Life hasn’t been kind to your parents or to you.”

“You know when you were little, People used to think Archie was yours and Jason’s brother? You used to get so upset by it. I remember picking up Archie from school one day and him telling me that he wanted to change his hair because it made you cry.” He spoke fondly of his son, who always wanted to make things better for people. Fred wasn’t sure who he got that from. “You’re a good person, Cheryl. You’re just trying to figure things out and that’s perfectly okay.”

    "you know what i think? parents should give a damn about their kids and not just because life was hard on them they should act like jerks or in my case, like killers” she says looking up at him “my dad right now is burning in hell and my mom is going there as well, if she had a crappy life growing up, why she even bothered to have me? it doesn’t make sense to me”

    of course nothing was going to make sense to her, at least not for now everything was just so messed up “i remember, i wasn’t feeling upset, i just...i saw you and archie and i always thought how would be to have someone that cares for me, a good parent, you know? but archie always thinking about others...can’t blame him though, it’s kind of in his nature” not in hers though, she was way too different “i just want justice, is that so hard to ask? i can’t live here anymore, i want to get out. i mean, now everything is better i found some kind of family with the serpents and i’m doing better because i live in my mansion alone with nana rose and that’s okay but...i  feel i can’t be here with my mom and uncle trying to destroy us, a bit paranoid? maybe but you seriously can blame me? she put me in some mental hospital just to get rid of me”

If there was one thing Betty knew would always be a constant in her life, it was a milkshake at Pop’s. The diner was her happy place and one place as far from her family as she could get at times. “Thanks, Cheryl.” The blonde took a seat at the spot across from the redhead. Sipping on her milkshake as they sat in silence for a few minutes.

   "not to worry, cousin” she says now taking another sip and her gaze was just on her. it was strange to just trying to be calm after everything that’s been going on but usually she was like that until it was moment to fight. now that she found a home with the serpents, she was glad about that but also she was feeling that she wanted to destroy her mom, a lot and just end this chapter of her life “how are you doing today? weird not seeing you with your friends”

he had been at pop’s to pick up a dinner order, and as archie heard the familiar voice of the fellow red-head offering him a seat, who could it hurt? “thanks, cheryl. i promise i won’t ruin your milkshake too much.” he sits down across from her, crossing his arms with his head cocked. “where are the other vixens? it’s a rare sighting to see you here all alone.”

    being with the vixen was one thing that she always does but usually she spend more of her time on the southside with the serpents since now she was one of them and she wouldn’t even imagine that but after everything, that seems perfect to her “good to know” she says with a small smile “i wanted some time for myself, usually when we have practice i’m with them here but we didn’t have practice today so i was going to just be here alone instead of being alone at my house” she says with a small shrug. “and you, archie? i mean, it’s weird not to see you with veronica.”

“thank you cheryl, but truth be told, i was going to sit here anyway.” he stated, as he was one of the few people who loved cheryl’s personality but was always one to give her sass back at times. kevin was on his crutches from his tragic kidnapping that happened weeks ago, and hated walking too far in pop’s anyway. “so, how are the serpents? feels like everything is a blur right now and i have to constantly remind myself of things that have happened.” 

    now a small laugh escaped from her lips. “of course you were.” the girl muttered and took a sip from her milkshake now looking at kevin. “they are doing okay, i mean, we are still dealing with the gholies situation but that’s all.” cheryl said with a small shrug now with her gaze on the other one. “everything has been very strange but right now honestly i can’t really sleep until i find a way to geet rid of my mom for good, i want her out of this town.”

“You two would really good at debates, let me tell you that.” He set his coffee down. Fred knew how most of the kids saw him and Mary. It was upsetting that all of his former classmates let their issues affect their parenting. “Don’t underestimate yourself. I think you’re a good person. You just have a fiery personality that is bigger than this town.”

     "you really think so?” she asked. well, being with the serpents was something nice and it was like finding a home with them and that personality of hers can also help her a lot. “right now everything is better in my life, at least i don’t have to live with my mom or uncle anymore, i have the house to myself and my grandma is okay. i always thought that maybe i’m this way because of my parents, how they were. i never was someone really good, now i’m trying to improve myself, god, i even caused archie some troubles and he always was there to help me out, at least that’s a prove how a person can be and it all depends how their parents are”
