Frank Longbottom

Alice had been tempted to go and collect her husband for lunch. They tended to eat lunch together, but she knew he was buried under paperwork, just like she was, and she wasn’t sure if he was even taking lunch out of the ministry today. So she’d just gone ahead without him. She figured he would just follow on if he was planning on joining her. She tended to pretty obvious with her lunch locations. But Alice just couldn’t resist the cheesy chips here. Sure it wasn’t the healthiest of lunch. Alice burnt off enough calories in her job though, so she wasn’t worried.

She popped a chip in her mouth, just as her husband turned up. She swallowed and then smiled at him. “Wondered how long it would take for you to follow me here?” She teased with a little grin. “Wanna share my chips?” There were very few people she’d share chips with. Frank was one of them

Frank grinned at her. “Well, ya see, there is this awfully boring thing called paperwork. And I was tryin’ not to fall asleep. And then I thought, hey I think my beautiful wife is probably at lunch. And I realized that’s a win-win for me. I get to see you and I get to eat. Two things that I love.” He told her warmly. He chuckled lightly when she asked if he wanted to share her chips. “Is that even a question?” He teased. He grabbed one and popped it in his mouth. “Mmm.” He leaned back lightly. “Sweetheart, thank you. I really needed to get out of there.”

“I’m not fussing,” said Andromeda severely. “But you have a broken arm, Mr. Longbottom, and I don’t believe you’ll be sleeping that off.”

She walked the stretcher down to a private room, then effortlessly flicked the wand to transfer him onto the bed. She began to get down the potions that she needed. “Have a sip of this,” she instructed, holding out a flask of soft pink fluid to Frank. “I promise you, Alice, he won’t be here long, but he’ll heal faster if he does what he’s told.” 

She raised her eyebrows at him, still holding the potion out. It was a bit of pain relief and a bit of sedative that would calm him down while she mended his arm and gave everything else a quick look-over and fix as well.

Unfortunately for Frank, he happened to be surrounded by two of the most stubborn women on the planet. Resistance was pointless. Letting out a sigh, he resigned himself to whatever treatment Andromeda could offer. “Alright, alright.” He muttered. He made a face at the sight of the liquid she offered him, knowing it probably tasted as gross as it looked.

Taking a sip, he sputtered. He had been right. “Merlin’s beard, can’t they ever make these things taste decent?” He asked. “Would it kill them to make it cherry or something?”

Andromeda rushed out into the entry hall with a stretcher behind her. She gave a flick of the wand, levitating Frank right onto it before he could protest. 

“I’m glad you sent ahead, Alice!” Andromeda looked over Frank carefully, making sure that she didn’t look too worried. That was never reassuring for a patient. His injuries didn’t look life-threatening, he just had a lot of them. “What happened? Are the others with you all right, or did they also get hit by the Knight Bus?”

It was incredible–and concerning–the injuries she was seeing people come in with these days. It reminded her of the importance of her job. Frank was almost like a brother-in-law to her, so she was very glad he was under her care and no one else’s. Having that kind of control was reassuring to her.

Frank groaned but not in pain, in frustration. “Would you two please stop fussing over me? I’m fine. A few scrapes and bruises, maybe a broken bone or two, but I will survive. I’m not at death’s door.” He loved his wife and his cousin but they were really going overboard. “Andromeda, please don’t encourage her.”

“I don’t know how the others are because my wife wouldn’t let me stay and check on them.” He muttered, irritably. “Look, I know you both are worried, and I appreciate it, but can’t you just like give me some potion for the pain and let me go home?”

It wasn’t that bad. Okay, sure maybe there was a lot of blood, but Frank couldn’t help it if he was a bleeder! And okay, maybe he was pretty bruised, and he might even have a few broken bones but they would heal, right? It was an occupational hazard. He was fine. Of course, when he had tried to stand up and winced in pain, his boss didn’t buy his whole ‘I’m fine’ routine. The worst part was when Alice was informed. Frank loved his wife more than anything but he knew she was going to overreact. And sure enough, he was right. She was insisting that he go to St. Mungo’s and get checked out. Before going inside, he turned to her, making one last plea.

“Alice, sweetheart, you know I love you. And I would do anything for you. But, as I’ve said several times now, I’m fine.”

Alice rarely took her lunch break away from the ministry. That was when she was actually there. Alice preferred being in the field, and when she was there she didn’t really need lunch breaks. Today was an office day, an enforced one, so she could catch up on all her paperwork. So, once lunch time had come around, she’d literally jumped out of her seat, and hot fotted it out of the office. She needed a break.

She was now sat in the Leaky, eating a bowl of cheesy chips, as she enjoyed her time away from the office. She would always hate paperowrk, and anything that kept her away from the office right now would be truly welcomed.

Frank hated paperwork. Loathed it, despised it. But, it was part of the job, so he muddled through. Still, there were some days he would get distracted. Maybe it wasn’t the smartest choice for the Head Auror to put his office right across from Alice’s. Although, probably good they didn’t share one because he’d never get anything done.

Sometimes, he’d watch her work and just wonder how he got so damn lucky. It was a mystery to him. He had been buried in paperwork for the last hour but he was starving. He’d seen his wife take off a few minutes ago, so he figured he might as well go too.

The Leaky Cauldron, he knew she’d be there. And sure enough, he spotted her instantly. Walking towards her, he grinned. “Mind if I join you?”

molly didn’t often get time alone with bill. with four younger brothers, two of them being newborns, he, like the amazing big brother that he was, took his duties very seriously and helped around the house. but that didn’t negate the fact that he was still only eight years old. so when bill tripped over a cobblestone and kicked his shin against the curb stepping up onto the sidewalk of hogsmeade, tears welled up in his eyes and like the mama’s boy that he was, leaned in for a hug from his mother. she wrapped her arms around his small body and gave him a hug.

Frank had been running some errands in Hogsmeade and he’d made a stop at his favorite place, Honeydukes. Who didn’t love candy, after all? After leaving the shop, he headed down the sidewalk when he noticed a very upset little boy and his mother. It didn’t take him long to recognize them or figure out the situation. “Hello, Molly, Bill.” He said, softly. “I hope everything is alright.”

Having spent the better half of the evening being more concerned with the work that currently sat on her desk, Amelia had decided to make a point of exploring what the gala had to offer in an attempt to just relax for a moment. On her travels she had managed to pick herself up a drink, and peruse the various activities layed out, eventually eyeing up the food table, and an empty spot next to it that she could easily step in to so she could grab a quick snack. Not really giving it too much though she picked a pastry that was nearby, and upon taking a bite, she immediately regretted her choice. 

“Oh… Oh no… If you’ve not tried these yet, save yourself the hassle.” She said out loud to the person next to her. 

Frank was a self-proclaimed food connoisseur. He loved food so much that people often joked that he should’ve been in Hufflepuff since it was near the kitchens. But, one thing Frank was not okay with was food that was not done well. So, when he saw the look on her face, he frowned. “That bad?” He then looked down at the hors d'oeuvres and shoved his plate aside. “I think I’ll stick with the pie I saw earlier. It’s really hard to mess up pie.”

After what felt like an appropriate amount of socializing, Alice had gone in search of her husband. She still wore her heels, although she was leaning toward kicking them off again - next time, she was wearing flats no matter what her mum thought of that. When she finally spotted him, Alice made a beeline for Frank and slipped up beside him, tucking her hand into his arm. “Have we put in enough time, do you think?”

“There’s the most beautiful woman in the room.” Frank said, spotting his wife. “Hey, I thought we put in enough time the moment we walked in.” He was joking of course. “Alice, if you want to stay, I can sample more food. I would never drag you away before you were ready to leave.” He may not be in his element here but if Alice was having fun he would be fine with them staying put.
