Routine morning hunt ended with ill-fate. Duo of wolf and boy would have to travel further into the depths of the forest if they wanted to satisfy their hungers, for the at least the day. As the wolf ventured off, the young teen was left to search the current area. He’d meet up with his companion later, especially if either of them found something.
Particular rustling that sounded from the tops of the trees drew the young Huntsman to a halt. Ears almost twitching, straining to focus on any other dins. Could have been the wind, but the leaves sounded different, something he couldn’t quite catch. Fingers tightened around the handle of his bow. Furrowing brows displaying his inner debate to whether he should draw an arrow from his quiver or not. Before he was even given the chance to decide something fell from the sky, landing right before him. The young Huntsman was nearly taken aback with surprise, lips drawing to a part as he sharply took in a silent breath. A human?
Eyes wandered over the boy before him, just as the boy did to him. It was an odd happenstance coming across any human in the depths of the forests, especially to find one who appeared nearly as old as he. But, there were differences. This- this young human before him wasn’t clad in fur and skins like he, who blatantly lived off of the land. Still, this boy was clad with earth, like he, himself, but did not bare the garb to prove so.
The boy’s grunt drew the young Huntsman from his observation, forcing his line of vision to draw away from the boy to the bow in hand. Grip tighten, but he firmly kept it positioned at his side, not knowing as to what the boy was trying to imply. Eyes grew to a scrunch that reflected his confusion upon his countenance. Even still, he couldn’t help but compare the similarities between the boy’s stance between that of submission — one thing the young teen knew all to well with being with the wolves.
“I wish you know harm.” It wasn’t like he was going to drop his bow to the ground, and if he moved it, the action to could result in panic from the boy. So, the least he could do was state he meant know harm — to which he would only attack if first provoked. “Who are you?” He called out in a calm, yet partially demanding tone.
when the weapon wasn’t REMOVED from his view, cypress grew even more wary of the stranger. his eyes narrowed for a moment before he came to the conclusion that this boy wasn’t trying to hurt him at the current moment. see, cypress didn’t know the difference between himself and the other apes. he thought they were all the same. still, he had just assumed that harm would be dished towards his FAMILY, if they were to show up. that made him feel uneasy about this stranger.
when he spoke, cypress tilted his head further. he spoke a DIFFERENT LANGUAGE, didn’t he? the ape-boy tried to figure out what was being said to him, knowing that he would probably get it wrong in the end. he had to at least try. his gaze drifted towards the empty trees behind his own body, teeth grazing the bottom of his lip as he searched for coco. she was the one who usually gave him PERMISSION to do certain things. with a quiet huff, cypress only returned icy hues towards the strange boy in front of him before he pressed a hand to his own chest. introductions were in STORE, weren’t they? so, he’d try that, regardless of whether or not it answered the other’s questions.
❛ cypress. ❜
this boy before him didn’t look COMPLETELY like a boy, though. he had the same kind of body as cypress did, which was throwing the blond off the most. yet, this stranger wore something other than what the wild boy did. cypress couldn’t tell if he was a different kind of BREED, or if he was a separate species overall.
❛ –––– human? ❜
his question was accompanied by the nod of his head, signaling to the other that he was talking about him. to CLARIFY that it was a question, his eyebrows remained furrowed, but his body moved in the slightest. he stood on his feet, but remained crouched towards the ground, knuckles bent ( almost exactly replicating an APE’S usual stance ). he was getting more COMFORTABLE.
