    “I think the last time you rested your head in my lap was when we were kids. But, there may have been another time between then and now.” Seeing him in such a relaxed state caused her heart to faintly flutter. He’d been working overtime since his return but then again, she was no different.

    It was absolutely frigid in her office to the point that her nose and cheeks were turning red. What made it worse for the Acting Grand Master was that she forgot her gloves in her room. 

    “My archon? Oh. You’re referring to him.” What in Archons has he done this time? “Please have a seat and explain to me what he’s done.” Motioning towards an empty chair, Jean stood up to pour the gentleman a cup of tea.

    A sigh and a newly forming headache soon caused the young woman to rub the side of her head. “I can not defend you without knowing the reasoning.” Mama Jean ain’t having it, Venti.

    A glance of disbelief was given in response to the bards remark. What exactly did he do to warrant this person’s wrath? “It would depend on what you’ve done, Venti.”
