The queen whistles again, this time with a low sound. Zhouba starts its run - the beast is pretty fast, though if old. -You’re supposed to hold your weapon. And you don’t need supplies on the battlefield - That’s what elums are for!- She shouts, trying to avoid the air on her face -Scrabs aren’t just battle steeds - they are strong, fast and loyal.- The warrior drives the female faster and faster -They are like partners.They aren’t supposed to hold anything - their duty is to make you fly through the battlefield.- Her feathers wave -They make you letal and uncatchable.-

Odet looks at the heads, as she rises her eyebrow a bit more. She rolls her eyes, and then she looks him in the eyes -Don’t put your cock out Levi - do you think I couldn’t do that?- The mudanchee gives a little kick to one of the heads -I don’t need to be protected. Neither I want to. And that’s the point.- She makes a pause, as she stares the ground. -I’m tired. And I don’t want to fight anymore. But as you can see…- She points a glukkon head -…We can’t stop fighting. We’ll never stop fighting.-

She doesn’t say any words - she just looks at him, before starting again -You act like you have done this for all your entire life! You’re fighting for what?- Now she speaks very fast -Not for peace - they’ll never declare truce. Then? Supplies? Life? It’s not… It’s not freedom!- Now her voice sounds exasperated -Aaanh… Do you even know what freedom is?- He is acting like… Like he doesn’t really know anything about freedom. Well, for her.

Odet sighs. It’s not something easy to explain - that’s why it’s better for him to see. She doesn’t say a word for few minutes - then she makes an acute whistle with her mouth and lips. A simple sound, something that Zhouba knows well, and the scrab immediately replies at her rider. The mudanchee makes a soft, little smile, as she touch the beast’s forehead with hers, with a gentle move. Then, she saddle up on the red animal -So? Are you going to call your elum, or are you waiting for me to make you some space?-

-...Oh. Oh.- She sais, suddendly feeling uncomfortable -Er... Ok, that’s embarassing.- Odet makes Zhouba moves a little -I’m sorry. Really. It was a good steed - NO, I didn’t mean good in that way...- Aaah, damn, she doesn’t even like elums; they are just stupid and stinky animals with no sense of direction -Damn Levi, just climb on.-

She is feeling better. Much better. At first she couldn’t even move; she was angry - because she had not been carefull at all, neither smart - and her body hurted. A lot. But then, days passed by - and she started to walk again. This meant just one thing: she could leave the place. Odet is pretty happy about that. The young mudanchee prepares her scrab with all necessary - water, food, what else? -Are you ready?- It’s her simple ask to the beast; Zhouba gives her an annoyed glare -…Of course you are.- it mus not have been easy for the scrab to wait for her; though the female can be very sympathetic sometimes.

The mudanchee immediately recognize the voice - Levi. Of course it’s him - she can’t be wrong. She smiles a bit, as she puts a long saddle blanket on Zhouba’s back -Well, then you know me.- She answers in a simple voice -Levi.-  and then turns her neck to see him. But in that moment her eyes changes expression - as she sees his clothes. -What the…-

Levi began to glare, “I got a new set of clothes. What’s wrong with them? I find them to be rather comfortable, and they were designed by a villager here. You’d probably know that if you tried to talk to me while here.” Of course she’d judge him for wanting better things; the elders always did.

“So, you’re just going to keep running for the rest of your life then?” Levi asked, crossing his arms. “Last time you left, you got captured by vykkers that would have probably hurt you bad if not outright kill you if you weren’t rescued. Wouldn’t it be better just stay and fight rather than keep running away constantly?”

-They were after Zhouba, not after me- Odet growls, her skin turns more reddish than before -I couldn’t sit back and watch.- It’s hard to say how old is Zhouba - but the female is old for sure, even if her muscles would tell the contrary. -She’s my family. I have to protect her - The animal takes some steps, as Odet’s body indulges its gait -Even if this means running all my life from industrialist.- The scrab starts walking slow, as the young warrior tightens more -Do you want me to thank you for saving me?- The beast stops, and the rider watch Levi’s eyes intensely: -Thank you, Levi. But this was the first and last time.-

Levi growled lowly, “I wasn’t asking for a thank you…And travelling will just get you or your companion killed either way!” As he spoke the last part of the sentence, he sounded somewhat sorrowful, as if he’s experienced it before. “One thing I learned is that it is better to stay and protect what’s left rather than running and doing absolutely nothing!”

The young mudanchee gets even more reddish; she suddendly stops Zhouba’s walk, as she steps down from its back -You.- The warrior gets near the drone’s face - maybe too near -I’ve never met anyone that pisses me off so much.- She shows a really angry face, few inches from his -And when it happens, I want to puch you in the face so hard.-

Levi glared harder, “I was just trying to warn you…like friends do for each other…Glad to know I all I ever meant to you was an annoyance…” He clenched his fists tightly, both at the threat and his feelings of anger.

-You-YOU… Anghhh!!!- Well, her skin turns totally red now, almost as her feathers -See?! You said that word!- She pushes his chest, and try to steps away from this situation -You got involved!- The mudanchee growls a bit more, and now she covers both her eyes with just one hand -How am I supposed to leave, if someone on the other side of the desert is still thinking about me and my safety?!-  And she stops for a bit, still staring at him -I knew this was a bad idea. This place is cursed- A murmur, nothing more. -Tell me, Levi.- Zhouba gets near the warrior, looking for her hand with its muzzle. -What if I stay?-

-You speak about this place like an Eden- Odet crosses her arms, looking at the beast at her side -It’s full of young queens - the last of us, at least.-  She starts -When the industrials will find out - it will become Hell, and you know that. And, what are you going to do? Fight them back?-

Clenching his fists tighter in rage, he said, “I’ll KILL any Industrialists who dares to invade. If one so much as goes anywhere near this forest, they’ll pay with their life! Nowhere is safe, and I’ll be damned if I lose anymore!!”

Odet stares at him - now shaking her head, because he’s the most stubborn mudokon she ever met. -You’re a fucking mad scrab.- She sais, as she pick Zhouba’s saddle blanket - and throw onto Levi’s face. -Ok, Fire eyes guy - 7 days- The young warrior stars and put both her hands on her hips -You have 7 days to prove me that you’re doing something different than nothing.- Clearly she’s referring to his previous words -Prove me this place is worthy. Prove me it’s safe. But more important.. Prove me it’s not a cage.-
