Marcella's Odd Times

Back again after a long hiatus. Another image from the boxes of glass slides. Check out that tie. 

Pre GIF distractions...not a reindeer but quite deer.

Bill Zieg was still around when I was a child. His rock shop/museum was one of my favorite places to visit. We’d never leave without a small rock or arrowhead. 

I think a replacement statue still exists on the grounds of the school near the grounds of St Joseph’s (it was torn down in 1975-1976). Looks like it would be at home in a grotto. 

From shrimp to mammoth. (20 years and a couple hundred miles later)

The room of a trophy hunter. That moose was no shrimp! That piece of art below the ram looks interesting too.

After a ridiculously long time...Marcella is back!  Welcome fall with a nice robbery, and a mask. 

Found between pages of  Marcella’s Odd from August of 1955. Better to pass through Red Lodge than to be trapped in the Black Lodge.

Though she never mentioned this particular work, Marcella seemed to have a thing for Post-Impressionism. There are few images of this particular one online but I did find this viewing focusing on “Boy in a Red Vest.”

From Marcella’s slides. A zoo came to town, complete with big top and sideshows. More photos from this will follow as there are many with performers from around the world. Here we have two majestic beasts - sadly confined. We’ll hope they escaped and found their way to a cool Sandhills lake where they could relax and run with the coyotes and rabbits. 

The last day of December in ’48. I wonder what film burned: The Treasure of the Sierra Madre? Bicycle Thieves? Horror? - House of Darkness? Maybe a western - Yellow Sky?
