it always tore my heart out that right before you know what Nicki just gently asks Lestat to come to bed. Their last human interaction. It's like two sentences in the book but there's layers upon layers somehow. At least for me *laughs*

I felt not the dread of death as I had on so many other nights, but an emotion that was really alien to me: fear. I was still sitting there, too unsure of myself to say anything, when Nicolas kissed me.
