the audacity to publicly condemn and insult someone trying to preserve a central hub for a large portion of the simming community that's been around for decades only to turn around and shut the site down without any warning, having to be chased down on mts for an explanation, and to flippantly tell people to go use those exact same archives for the custom content is absolutely insane.
gos wasn't just those cc links, it was two decades worth of forum activity, some of it by now dead members of the community that we will never see again, torched without a word. to leave that site in limbo for so long when people will willing to step up and help, and to attack the users trying to save what they could of it, is absolutely unfathomable to me. i may have not been fully active as a personality in the community, but i was literally raised on gos. to see it treated with such disregard and contempt for the people on it by someone we all respected was heartbreaking.

First, let me say that I'm actually so sad to see it go. It's been a huge part of my time in the sims community. It's a shame that was so sudden. I really loved the community and I think it's a shame that it happened like it did.
With that out of the way.
BITCH, I TOLD YOU. I TOLD ALL OF YOU. I told ALL you motherfuckers exactly what would happen and everyone bitched like "Oh!! Well, WHY would you do this? Especially when it's not like GOS is closing down anytime soon???"
I got hate mail for months. Bitches poured out of the woodwork like "Mmmm I've always hated Billie, just another thing he's done to add him to my shit list" Then HL bitched at me and acted like the scrape cost him a huge amount of case in data usage when that shit was fucking cents on the dollar. I even offered to pay HL back the like 2 dollars that it *may* have costed him to scape.
Well GUESS who fucking took their ball and went home with very little warning?
This is the entire site's worth of custom content scraped. There are a few things that you need to know.- This is not checked to see if depe
Here's the fucking scrape. It's missing 2024-2026. I be that stuff can be scraped as well though, but since it'll have to be done through Wayback it's gonna take time.
4t2 EP04 Catch of the Day Food Stand as functional food stand
Another food stand conversion! A thing about me is I love my sims being able to eat on community lots but I don't always love sending them to restaurants. So food stands are really my jam and I always want more.
These stands were previously converted by @tony-veis as a fish kiosk here, but I decided to convert them again this time as a functional food stand.
These stands also don't require any custom foods. Sims will be able to purchase all of the seafood related maxis dishes, as seen in the pie menu image above.
The dishes are:
Bass with Squash
Blackened Catfish
Lime Seared Prawns
Char-broiled Catfish
Salmon
Stuffed Rainbow Trout
Stuffed Golden Trout
Lobster Thermidor
I've also included a recolor to the "Foodies Seafood Sampler" food stand (the shrimp one). In Sims 4 they're two separate stands selling different things but it's the same mesh so— recolor!
Credit and thanks to @jacky93sims for the food stand this was cloned from.
download @ mediafire
@sims4t2bb
** tutorial to add your own foods: I personally plan on adding custom seafood related dishes to this for my own game, but wanted a "maxis only" base too. If you want to add your own dishes to this you can follow this tutorial. Just mind that in this particular food stand the “Create New Object Instance” appears three times, not twice like the tutorial says. The first instance of “Create New Object” is for the plate's GUID. If the food you're adding uses the default maxis plate then you don't have to change the GUID here. The other two “Create New Object Instance” toward the bottom are for the food GUID and both must be changed to the GUID of the food you're adding in the way the linked tutorial describes.
These are a bunch of alien themed items for The Sims 2.
Ufo Lamp, Signs and Ufo tv are 4to2 conversion from Sims41ife. Cow Lamp is from Pixelvibes. Ufo Neon is from Mechtasims.
I managed to reduce the polygons for all the items.
Cow Lamp will be green when turned on. The Ufo Lamp must be turned off at first use (or it will appear too bright) and can also rotate. Tv is functional.

I’ve been dying to make some neon lights and I’ve finally done it. I’ve made Large neon lights and small ones so you have two different options. These are all super low poly. They are cloned from the Maxis Flamingo so they don’t have any textures (they’re repositoried to Maxis textures). Since the Flamingo light is never bright, I’ve also provided some backlights in matching colors that you can use to make these lights brighter. Just place one down and recolor it to be invisible.
There are five collection files included for your convenience. I strongly suggest turning the grid off to place these because otherwise they’ll look very spaced out. There are five color options: Yellow, Blue, Teal, Pink, and Green.
as it says on the tin, you get 52 recolors of the maxis "hotel" carpet. I say that in quotes because it doesn't call it that in-game, but it does in most of the internals when you're ripping textures to edit, SO: carpets that use this texture include the "Crimsonia" Carpet, "Fool's Gold" Carpet, "Piña Colada" Carpet, OverWear Carpet in "Chinchilla," "Grassy Knoll" Carpet, Yodel Lei Carpet in "Lichen," "Minty Fresh" Carpet, Royal Blue Carpet, and the "Tropical Paradise" Carpet.
you may be wondering where the name for this collection comes from... well, on the 3rd, I found out I had strep throat after two days of my right tonsil being swollen like a balloon, intense brainfog, and my whole body aching. it seems like I get a little bit delirious every time I get sick anymore, so in my delirium I did the only thing I knew could do with 2 functioning braincells: I recolored a carpet I've been meaning to for a while. I use the aforementioned Maxis carpets with this texture the most (it's my favorite♥), but there's no purple! (WTF, Maxis!?) so, I made sure to include a few. REMINDER:

previews and more info on what's inside below! ↓
I'm not gonna bore you with all the fine details of how I made these here (for that you can go to my dreamwidth), so have some fun little previews!
to show these off, I loaded up the Smith house, which uses THREE of the hotel carpets by default, iirc. replacing the "Fool's Gold" Carpet in the livingroom above, from top left to bottom right, we have: bacterium delirium muted -175°, bacterium delirium muted +45°, bacterium delirium vibrant +80°, and bacterium delirium vibrant -135°. I named them by how many degrees I rotated the hue because my head is way too foggy to try and think of 52 color names, and I felt it was appropriate for a sickly, feverish sort of theme.
replacing the Yodel Lei Carpet in "Lichen" in their little chess parlor, again from top left to bottom right, we have: bacterium delirium vibrant +40°, bacterium delirium vibrant -165°, bacterium delirium monochrome in "darkest grey" and "white." the monochromes may look a bit off from what their names describe depending on your screen. my laptop screen is very dim so the darkest grey looks pretty much black to me with just a hint of texture, and the white looks like a rather light grey, which I did on purpose because I didn't want it to be eye-searing, though I may rectify that with another round of recolors later.
lastly, here's a comparison of the hotel carpets in the game next to my bacterium delirium recolors. muted -165° is under "Crimsonia," vibrant +10° is under "Fool's Gold," vibrant +25° is under "Piña Colada," monochrome "lightest grey" is under "Chinchilla," muted +5° is under "Grassy Knoll," muted +45° is under "Lichen," vibrant +120° is under "Minty Fresh," muted +75° is under Royal Blue (which doesn't have quote marks around it in-game like the others for some reason), and vibrant +140° is under "Tropical Paradise." oh! and some of my faves on the bottom row there, which I think are great improvements to their original counterparts: that nice, true red is muted -140°, the better green is muted -20°, and that rich, deep blue is muted +100°.
also included in the .RAR is a collection file (that goes in your Collections folder, not your Downloads). the filename on that starts with bd_col; it should be right up top with a folder of all the bitmaps I made while choosing colors for this set, plus the original textures, so if there are any shades I missed that you think ought to be included, you can edit to your heart's content or import what's there!
TOU: you can do whatever you want with these since I used a Maxis texture. my only ask is that if you do use the extra bitmaps I didn't use, or if you just really like these and wanna show me what they look like in your game, @ me or grab my attention somehow so I can see and share your additions around too! Enjoy! – buddy♥
6 months later and I have another bit of fun about The Sims for Console! And with a weird title to boot!
If you want to see more, read below!
In my previous post I had mentioned that I was able to open the .IFF files for the sims themselves. The reason that I was able to do that in the first place was because the console version and the PC version are, for all intents and purposes, the same game!
In fact, you can take sim .IFF files from the console version, plop them into the PC version, and they will function flawlessly! Except for their appearances…
In the PC version of Create-A-Sim, you were only able to change the whole head and whole body. But the console version featured a much more elaborate system, with the player being able to change the sim’s hair, face, and clothing independently, as well as do other things like change the color, as well as add and remove accessories at will.
The PC version uses a resource within a sim’s .IFF to keep track of their appearance, these are called bodystrings.
Sims from the console version still have this resource within their .IFF as well! However because the sims’ appearances are vastly different between the two versions, the bodystrings inside a console sim’s .IFF go unseen. However when a sim from the console version is forcibly brought into the PC version, these previously unseen bodystrings can be seen! But most sims, like the GOTH family pictured above, use a set of default heads and bodies for their respective age groups, see below.
However! There are a few exceptions to this rule, and a handful of sims have uniquely defined appearances in their body strings, despite never being used by the game. So… here they are!
Freeplay Sims:
Interestingly enough, only the unused sims get to have unused unique PC bodystrings. Not even Betty Newbie!
Get a Life Sims:
Some interesting notes and observations about these appearances though:
They don't correlate to their proper appearances within the console version, like at all. They also only use light skin for whatever reason, not sure why. I do think it's a little funny that BETTY ROOMIES ended up with the same head that Betty Newbie from the PC version uses though! I also find it to be rather interesting that several sims use heads or bodies from the House Party Expansion Pack, what, if anything, that means though, I don't know.
As mentioned before, every other sim, apart from these select 17 sims use the same bodystrings. Even the duplicates of the Get a Life sims that exist within the neighborhood used for Bonus Game lots don't have this quirk.
I'm honestly not sure why these are even a thing. They could potentially be early development leftovers, but what purpose they served, if any at all, is a mystery to me.

“Don’t walk in front of me … I may not follow. Don’t walk behind me … I may not lead. Walk beside me … just be my friend” °°Albert Camus°°
Various nautical-themed objects I gathered from various folders on my computer. What you should know about them:
🗺️ The treasure maps from the 'Island Paradise' EP debug have three variations. I especially love the one that has a knife stuck to it. :)
🐳 The whale sculpture from the Sims 3 'Nautical Living' store set comes in two sizes, the smaller one is repo'd to the bigger one.
🐟 The big fish sculpture stems from the 'Island Paradise' EP and has two subsets, as does the starfish trio from the same EP. The hanging sword fish joins the duo with only one subset and two recolors just for the sake of it.
🏴☠️ The little pirate ship from the 'Generations' EP is categorized under Misc/Kids.
⚓ The 'Message in a Bottle' from the 'Island Paradise' debug can be placed in an upright and a slanting position. The sloped one is repo'd to the standing one.
☠️ Tricorn hat, flasks, dead rat, and barrels & crates pile (second picture, left-hand side) originate from 'The Sims Medieval' games. The latter has three decorative slots.
Which brings me to another crate pile that I uploaded in my 'Props to the Props' post: the 4t2 'Shipping Crates'. Adding slots to them, I forgot that it's necessary to make a second slot file when adding slots to a multi-tile decorative object, not doing it resulting in the game "multiplying" the slot for each of the tiles. I now modified the mesh file and attached it to this post's download folder. Please let the new file overwrite the old one.
And while I was dealing with crates, I gave the 'Old' s Cool Wooden Crates' from 'Late Night' an overhaul with new recolors, three decorative slots, and a new GUID. I'm certain I uploaded it somewhere on my LiveJournal ages ago, but I cannot find the corresponding post.

Note to self: give your download folder a thorough spring cleaning, preferably before the beginning of summer. 🧼
i've wanted a utility fishnet shirt both for normal wear and to slip under teeshirts in future projects. noogie666 on mts made this incredible set found here, synthetic generation being the perfect fishnet texture. be sure to check out the original set! all i did was remove the straps and deco and make recolors.
no mesh required, but i cannot recommend enough aquilega's default replacement male fat morph, pictures are broken but my fat models are using it. it's a thousand times better than the maxis morph.
i used landmine for a black color as well as kept noogie's original plain shiny black. like with a lot of the other colors, they look best on varying skintones. i've included both for that reason.
i know noogie666 has not logged in over a decade at this point but please, if you use these shirts for your own projects, keep their credit!
grab them here! previews included and under the cut. (apologies, they're a bit wonky, but unedited lighting-wise.)

*Updated! Fixed Small coctail glass neon. If you only need fixed mesh, it is HERE.
Archive contains eight new neon wall lamps (base game compatible) and three add-ons for EverGlow Uranium Rod from NightLife EP. That includes two vertical neons and an invisible version - most of my neons do not emit any light, so you can use that one to add some.
Each new neon shape has one larger, or smaller, repositoried equivalent, and comes in a few colours.
All smaller neons cost 126 S, larger neons cost 172 S.
Polycount ranges from 670 to 1500, catalogue descriptions contain the exact numbers.
