ok so idk if this has ever really been discussed on tumblr but I realized their aren’t really physical avain blogs on tumblr or merfolk ones so I’m thinking I’ll put my specific progress for those in separate blogs so creatures might feel more comfortable posting here….

When I first made this account I was quite unfamiliar with the therian community on tumblr but so far it’s been more than welcoming. In fact, at first I thought maybe it was a bit too welcoming. You see I have never seen a community be so accepting of physical therians (holotheres, physical nonhumans and such) and at first I was a little alarmed because I myself have psychosis and sometimes have delusions that people misunderstand and I always thought I should treat other people’s delusions the same way people treat mine. That is, with disbelief and ridicule.

When I started reading about physical therians instead of being understanding and happy for them I got mad. I was livid. I took the acceptance and love of people like me as an attack and I thought people were invading my experiences as a delusional therian and I realized there was a whole new discussion on here that I haven’t heard of. I decided, maybe if I ignore that part of the community, everything would go back to the way it was before. Because I hated that all my life people have brushed my identity off as a thing to “fix” when all I wanted was… acceptance.

I was reminded of a person, though. Anna Lappalainen, the princess of Kellokoski mental hospital. No matter how much they tried to “fix” her, her delusion of being a princess never went away. And it got me thinking. Why is it that we want to erase mentally ill people’s voices and identities and brush these delusions off as things to “fix”?

Why can’t we just accept these identities as they are? Why do we have to tell people how they can and can’t identify? When you tell a physical therian they’re just a mentally ill human, do you really think you are in the position to say that? Did you really think you fixed something there? What, you think they’re just gonna stop?

There’s also something to be said about the human experience not being what it seems and our identities being more than but also encompassing our physical selves. If someone wants to physically identify as something, it’s not going to hurt you to respect that. Just like you wouldn’t go around calling trans men physically female men, you wouldn’t go calling physical nonhumans something they don’t want to be called.

Why?

Because it changes absolutely nothing.

Maybe it's a delusion. Maybe it's a reaction to dissociation. Maybe it's a coping mechanism to hell knows what. Maybe it's the onset of psychosis or related disorders (though I highly doubt it).

But all that doesn't matter, but it's still real to me. It's my experience. It's my identity. It doesn't matter what it's caused by, I still feel how I feel. Just because it's a delusion or disorder to the rest of the world doesn't mean it's not my own personal reality.

curious to see if anyone else shares my experience. I am physically nonhuman and a clinical zoanthrope. I believe that almost all of my physical disabilities are caused by my physical nonhumanity.

example: I have chronic pain in my back and hips, I believe that because I am meant to walk on four legs, being forced to walk on two legs causes extreme stress on my body.

One of the mods here was in the waiting room for the pack, and was rejected upon finding out that their alpha; Aquamarine, has a real distrust in those who are plural/multiple or non-disordered versions of such. This is discrimination based on a factor that didn't matter or was never questioned when applying for the survey, so I would say DID, OSDD, plural etc people should watch out for the pack.

Rules found on different subblogs on tumblr explain that disrespect will result in a punishment "supervised" by the Alphas, and that death penalties exist for harming children. These rules obviously do not follow to them today, but the overlooked threats of being in a group as young teens pulled in multiple packs with strangers rather than real friends and family. That is the danger.

The pack demands that you believe genetically that you are physically nonhuman, and will not take any other belief seriously. In their history of the pack, they have held beliefs that genes can skip generations (why this is not true) , Silver and many of them claim that they used to blood bond, which is drawing blood to mix with anothers. They claim that shifting works through a hormone, but hormonal imbalance can and will kill you, this claim can get younger shifters in trouble if they don't know what they're doing.

Silver uses "modern lycan" now as a descriptor, but she once went by Jãger. This is species from a fictional book, and while fictional shifters are not bad (dragons etc), she led many to believe that they were REAL. Jãger is a mistranslation of jägermeister, which means "one who hunts". She claimed it meant "Earthwalker". This species and many more were taken from Daryla Gray's book Fighting For My Mate, the fourth book in the Jager Alpha series. The book was published on October 12th 2015, a year before Silver made the pack.

There is proof that a lot of the names of species are taken from indigenous folklore and other cultural spaces. Unfortunately a lot of what Silver did wasn't just "using folklore names," it was rewriting their history and spreading the idea that persons of any culture can be the species from another culture when they have no real knowledge. It's appropriation at worst, and weird at best.

Silver had believed in some doomsday hunters that were coming to get the pack, and led a fearmongering campaign that basically led into a bunch of shifters running with their heads off spreading posts about hunters, which again... weren't real.

Overall, their history as a pack has been so muddled in fantasy that a lot of it refuses to be anything other and the people following in their steps rarely have success. The people that one of the mods had talked to in the waiting room barely knew how to shift, but as they waited they could see the univeral "you must be genetically this way" to join and it twisted their head. We don't demand 'high value attention' of any members. We used to have weekly activity checks and (optional) pack meetings, but we haven't done that in a while. Having roles like 'alpha' and 'beta' isn't a sign of a cult. Those are just the staff roles in the discord server. We also don't punish members, and I haven't seen those rules involving killing people ever mentioned in my time in the pack. The most that'll happen is being banned from the server, or if someone is committing a crime like abusing children then that would be reported to the proper authorities.

We have both traumagenic and endogenic systems in the pack. Personally, I'm a traumagenic system. Some of our members who are traumagenic used to not understand what an endogenic system meant and thought that those people were pretending to have DID, but we've had many discussions on that topic in the server by now, and now they understand. I apologize to anyone who didn't feel welcome because of this issue, but it's now been addressed.

There isn't anyone in the server who identifies as a 'Jãger' anymore, and I haven't seen any appropriation of indigenous terms either, but if you have any recent examples of that happening, let me know, and I'll make sure it gets addressed. We also haven't been focused on hunters in quite a while. We also don't 'blood bond' or encourage people to mess with their hormones.

We do believe that shifters are born that way. The reason for this is because we've encountered a lot of people who claimed to be turning into different species via subliminal audios, and that experience isn't much like ours at all. We don't want to spread hatred and drama, but we have a focus for the pack which is being born nonhuman. We don't all share all of the same opinions though. Some of us believe shifting is purely genetic, and some believe that spirituality can impact it as well. We're open to having those discussions. The only hard line is the subliminal stuff, and the pack not being for people who choose their forms.

Yes, some of us haven't shifted yet. The pack is open for questioning nonhumans. Finally, I don't see anything wrong with having a pack that's open for people to join. We have a vetting period to ensure we're comfortable with new members, but we do want people to be able to join us.

A lot of the information in that post is super outdated. Keep in mind that the pack was originally made by young teenagers, so 8 years is a long time! Most of the current pack members are now adults, though.
