Holmes is. uh. handling it well

Watson, meanwhile, is having a great time and is making it everyone else’s problem

“It’s the most dangerous coast in the country, Holmes!” he says, delightedly

In case you might have thought he was the normal one

Nothing can bring his mood down!

…except Holmes doing drugs

He doesn’t even say anything, just quietly says he’ll go get the luggage he’s so sad

…which apparently was enough for Holmes to ditch the stuff entirely

To be serious for a second, we know that Holmes would die for Watson or kill for Watson, but this is where we see him living for Watson—taking care of himself and his health for Watson. (Everyone hydrate and take your meds, get a decent meal and some sleep! Do it for Holmes and Watson!)

(Don’t bury glass on the beach though)

Anyway there are more things for Watson to be upset about, because even when he’s not taking drugs, Holmes is THE WORST at following doctors’ advice, whether the doctor is Watson or not. And look! There’s a convenient mysterious death! Guess who needs to solve it?

Watson: NOT YOU, HOLMES

Holmes follows these instructions as well as he ever does

He then gets threatened by a large and angry man in the middle of nowhere

Which doesn’t bother him

Neither does being sick

He leaves being bothered to Watson

Yeah we don’t believe you

Anyway look it’s carpet time!

AND gravel time!! Holmes must be giddy

He does look a little healthier actually

Aaaannd now it’s hypothesis-testing time! And how do we test hypotheses? By trying out deadly drugs, of course!

Watson correctly points out that this is a terrible idea

Holmes: Well you don’t have to but I’m going to

Watson: Obviously I meant I’m doing it with you, you oaf

Holmes, smug but also in love: That’s my weirdo

It goes well

But hey we get BAMF!Watson (offscreen but he carries Holmes out of the house) aaaand first-name basis Holmes!

And an actual apology! With a neck caress!

Sheesh boys get a room. But one without fumes

Anyway they’re ok, barely, and next we get the return of the large angry man!

Large angry man: You couldn’t have been following me; I didn’t see you

Holmes: Yep, that’s how you know it was me

Watson: HAWT

Holmes to loud angry guy: So yeah I know you killed a guy. But I mean that guy was a major asshole. And technically I told the police everything they needed to know. So. You know. If they don’t stop you, what can I do?

Watson: You’re. um. doing that thing again. Where you become the whole legal system

(Don’t pretend you don’t find it hot, Watson)

Holmes: I have never loved a woman

But if I did love someone who’s right in front of me in fact I’m staring at them right now, and someone killed them, well, all bets would be off

Wouldn’t you, Watson?

Watson: I mean yes have you noticed how many people I’ve threatened with death around you babe? but

THAT’S NOT THE POINT!

Holmes: The point is I’M NOT A COP

Also I’m on vacation. As you keep reminding me, babe. Let’s go do vacation things.

And they’re off, having once again compounded a felony, presumably to commit a few of their own
