[ooc] Tom & Bobby
so, kate. these two might know each other??? since tom is friends with kara iâm guessing heâs around a lot and heâs probably met bobby at some point? i think bobby is far more trusting/nicer to people kara likes so these two could potentially ~get along (while karaâs around)? though i think bobby will also not understand tomâs charity love AT ALL because bobby himself is a charity case and could use money, hahaha.

Seariously The Best Day Ever (Iâm Not Squidding)Â | Bobby & Colin
âHey, buddy, have you been ignoring us?âÂ
Colin was standing in the doorframe of Bobbyâs room. He hadnât seen Bobby much over the last few days, so when he finally made an appearance, Colin had taken the opportunity to corner him. Literally.
Colin broke out into a smile and laughed, âJust kidding, I know you arenât. Look, I just wanted to say that I can tell you are putting in a lot of effort into finding a job and if you canât make rent this month, itâs totally cool â Chase and I got you covered. Also, you could really use a break. So, surprise! Bought us two pickets to the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center! Eh? Cool, right? Well, to be precise, I paid for half and your sister paid for half. Turns out she thinks you deserve a fun day, too, and honestly, whatâs cooler than the aquarium? I used to love that place as a kid. Anyway, Kara wanted to come, too, but she had to work last minute but donât worry, I promised to snapchat her the entire thing, so she wonât miss out.âÂ
Of course Bobby had been ignoring his roomates. When did he not ignore them? He made it a point to ignore them. By now, it was second nature. But Colin never noticed. And Chase never noticed. Instead, they constantly invited him to do things with them. Things they thought were fun. These things? They were never fun. What did Bobby have to do to get them to leave him alone? Hang a sign?
He turned away as Colin spoke, rifling through one of his drawers. He stopped suddenly to throw off his shirt and toss it across the room before he continued his search. But suddenly, he stilled, thinking better of it. Colin liked guyâs chests, didnât he? What if he started hitting on him? Or maybe he just liked Chaseâs chest? Whatever. Bobby had to have a clean shirt in this drawer somewhere. Unless heâd forgotten to do laundry this week. Heâd probably forgotten to do laundry this week. Oops.
As Colinâs monologue came to an end, Bobby turned angrily toward him. âThe Aquarium? Really? What are you, five? No thanks. Just take your boyfriend. Iâm sure heâd love to go. Iâll pay my sister back later.
âAnd donât worry, youâll get the rent this month.â He didnât know how but heâd get it. He wasnât some charity case. And if not paying meant spending the day with Colin at the aquarium, heâd find some way to pay it. Even if it meant picking pockets on the Boardwalk. Heâd done it before and he could do it again.
He turned back to the drawer and started digging again, wondering how long it would take to get rid of Colin. He couldnât just leave, could he? âYou know, you donât have to ask me to do things. We both know we have nothing in common. Thereâs really no need to force the issue.â
Would that get Colin to leave? Doubtful. But it was worth a try, at least.

ROBERT âBOBBYâ LARSSON / max theriot
Relationships: (sister:) Kara Larsson, (friends/housemates:) Colin Adams, Chase Hamels, (ex-girlfriends:) Alexandra âSashaâ Shaw, Valerie Connors, (partner in crime:) Aria Bentley
Age: 24 Occupation: Petty Thief/Unemployed Description: Bobbyâs had a problem with stealing since the second grade when he started swiping pencils. Heâs pretty confident in his abilities, since no one has ever suspected him. That is, except his girlfriend Sasha, who caught him red-handed and then broke up with him after he promised to stop, but couldnât. Bobbyâs excellent on his feet and could bullshit his way out of any situation. Despite his problem, he really is a nice guy and he tends to only target people who can afford to lose what heâs stealing, or if they hates them and he thinks they deserve to lose out. Bobby lost his job at CVS after they found that he was taking money from the cash register. Heâd been doing it for weeks but they only had proof of the last time which (fortunately for him) was only twenty bucks and they fired him without getting the police involved. But now heâs out of work and he knows he needs a legit job (even if he could pay the rent with the money heâs stolen) and he doesnât really want anyone else finding out about his bad habit.

Things Could (Probably) Be Worse | Kara & Bobby
oceanfrontkara:
Kara put down her window and turned the radio on. She loved feeling the warm breeze (even if sheâd looked like sheâd been through a hurricane by the time they got to the restaurant) and hear the sounds of the street and the smell of the ocean.
âHey, so whatâs been up with you? I mean, other than the whole â looking for a job thing ââ Theyâd touched on that topic and theyâd touched on her work, and that was all she wanted to say about either of those things for the next two hours. âHow are things? How are the roomies?â She asked.
âAnd howâs the love life?â She asked, raising her eyebrows, âI hope iâm not gonna scar you for life with my horror stories,â She teased, âStatistically, I think that one of us is bound for a good one, and â letâs be real â itâs probably going to be you. You really should go out sometime,â She said playfully, nudging his arm.
To be honest, she was worried about her brother. She never heard him talk about going out with friends or a girl or anything. She hoped he was okay. She hoped that he would tell her if he wasnât. Maybe she was overthinking things and maybe he was just busy trying to find a job, but she hoped he wasnât all work and no play.
In truth, Kara hadnât paid quite enough attention to her brother as she should have. If she did, sheâd realize that he didnât have any friends and hadnât had any for a long time.
She suddenly made a face. âWait. What are you listening to? We gotta find something better than this,â She said, mock horrified, as she scanned through the stations until she found the top forties one. âIâm about to jam out to Justin Bieber,â She said, "And unless you are going to pull over and throw me out, you are just gonna have to deal.â
Although Kara was, arguably, the person Bobby cared about most, he had never confided in her. So while he loved seeing her and spending time with her, he also hated it. Because he could never truly answer her questions. He mostly preferred talking about her. Karaâs life was always endlessly interesting. He loved her stories and loved hearing her tell them.
But now, he had to deflect. And that was the part he always hated.
âNothing much. Just out looking. And the roomies are the same. We still donât really get along but not much I can do about that. At least itâs a place to stay.â
He paused, almost willing the drive to the restaurant to pass faster. At least there, he would have other distractions. Like food. And maybe even Val.
âOh, itâs the same. I havenât been seeing anyone lately. Itâs hard to date when youâre out of work.â He looked over at her then, giving her the ghost of a smile. She was wrong about their love lives. Neither of them had had much luck. For Kara, it was a string of accidents, none of them her fault. For Bobby, everything was always his fault. He found people he liked and he pushed them away. So eventually he just stopped looking. But those were things he didnât tell Kara.
She never knew how his relationship with Valerie really ended. Just that it had stopped. And he was grateful that sheâd never really asked. He knew he couldnât tell her. He never wanted to tell her. He wanted Val back but knew he didnât deserve her; heâd never deserve her. So his love life had become an endless cycle of making mistakes and spending the rest of his life punishing himself for them. He knew it wasnât any way to live but he couldnât stop.
At the mention of her own failed love life, Bobbyâs right hand found Karaâs left knee and he squeezed it briefly before moving his hand back to the steering wheel. âHey, I love your stories. But I also love your safety. Maybe you should consider hiring on bodyguard to follow you on dates? At the rate your dates try to kill you, it could be a good investment.â
He laughed a little, actually picturing that. Kara would probably end up dating the bodyguard. Especially if Bobby hired one and didnât tell her. He could just imagine a call about her newest stalker. The thought made Bobby actually, genuinely smile. Kara did find herself in the most amusing scrapes.
âAre you still going out with that guy? I forget his name. I think he worked in a bar? Or a tattoo parlor? That big guy?â His nose crinkled as he tried to think. Kara went on lots of dates-- far more than Bobby --but Bobby never bothered to really keep track. That guy was a recent date, right?
At the mention of his radio presets, Bobbyâs eyes widened. âHow can you listen to this guy?!? You know heâs a total asshole, right? And I like my classic rock. You canât get better than AC/DC. Honestly, who raised you? Who told you listening to that âJustice Beaverâ is okay?â
He scoffed, gazing at her in mock horror. He almost considered driving her to the record store and buying her some decent music. Almost.
Meeting is Such Sweet Sorrow || Valerie & Bobby
oceanfrontvalerie:
âSo what? So, theyâre quirky and weird and, yes, they have an unconventional way of doing things, but theyâre good people, Bobby. And they are taking a chance on you. Do you know how rare that is?â Everywhere she looked, people were getting screwed over. Most people treated you like shit and wouldnât even think twice about it. If she drew up a list of all of the people she knew and divided it into the people she could trust and those she couldnât, she knew which list would outnumber the other.
âAnd if thatâs true, that this is your only option â â That wasnât so hard to believe: she knew that he was close with his sister, but maybe even she wouldnât want to live with him. Shouldnât she know, better than anyone, how Bobby could be? â â then would it kill you to be decent for five minutes? You donât need to go riding around town on a three person bike with them, but can you at least stop talking about them like youâre so much better?â
Not that anyone who knew the three of them would ever think that.
âI donât know whatâs worse: you trying to twist this into sounding like Iâm some kind of crazy person or that you really have no idea that the way you acted when we were together wasnât okay. And, yes, I did care about you. Thatâs not a secret. But I donât even know who you are anymore.â He was so far gone from the boy who took her on that first date, she hardly recognized him.
âWow. Okay, so weâre going to pretend that Iâm the one who acts different when my familyâs around? I donât know what sick game you are playing, but Iâm done.â
She started to walk away, but then he told her to sit down. âYou donât think Iâll like the alternative?â She asked, raising her eyebrows, âWhat the fuck does that mean? Are you seriously threatening me right now?â
This was the last straw. Bobby sprang to his feet, leaning across table as his eyes narrowed. âTheyâre taking a chance on me?! I didnât realize I was some charity case theyâd taken in out of the goodness of their hearts. Looks like Iâm the last to know, yet again. Believe me, if Iâd known what living with them would be like, I never wouldâve answered that ad. If I had anywhere else to go, Iâd be gone already.
âBut since I donât, that doesnât mean I have to like them. No where in the lease does it say we have to get along. So donât give me that, Val. They escaped from a sideshow and you know it. And Iâm one phone call away from calling the circus to pick them back up.â
He finished speaking in a huff, spinning away from her in his anger as his fingers pinched his chin. This wasnât going the way heâd intended. Bobby missed Valerie, more than he could ever say, but not this. He didnât miss this. He wanted to see her and talk to her, not drag out his incompete roommates every time he saw her. If there was one regret Bobby Larsson had, it was moving in with those losers. But too late to change things now.
As she spoke again, he turned back, glaring at her. He knew she was right about their relationship. Heâd pushed her away. But being right and being angry were two different worlds and he was still immersed fully in the latter.
âYeah, well, that makes two of us. Youâre think youâre still the same person I dated? Because that girl I dated wouldâve defended me. She wouldâve understood that I will never get along with those freaks because we have nothing in common. She wouldâve at least tried to understand. But weâre not those people anymore, are we?
âI guess that means we canât talk like civilized adults anymore either.â He watched as she began to walked away and, as she turned back, he crossed his arms, smirking as he took a step from behind the table, moving toward her. âSo what if I am? It made you stay, didnât it? Câmon, sweetheart. Sit down.
âLetâs have dinner.â
ooc bobby x annie
oceanfrontannie:
Tina yes to all of this and more. I have this image of Annie taking her grandma tendencies with Bobby too far. Like sometimes, if she catches him in a grouch, sheâll just snuggle up next to him, put an arm around him AND SHEâS JUST LIKE: itâs ok baby boy, i got you. No need to be mad.
I feel like the only reason she gets away with it is because she always gives his money to cheer him up and Bobby is like suffer through it and get the money. But yes, she deff calls him up randomly and is like: Letâs prank Kara.
SNUGGLE UP NEXT TO HIM. IâM CRYING. as bobby literally doesnât know what to do. on the one hand heâd be like âgeT OFF ME?!?â but on the other hand she gives him money and i could also see him just ~letting her do stuff. esp because she probably does stuff when kara is around and bobby is nicer when kara is there/doesnât like kara to know thatâs angry 90% of the time. so he probably just sits there looking super grumpy, ahahaha. ... and now iâm picturing annie as dory and bobby as marlin. I CANâT UNSEE IT ANNIE IT SERIOUSLY FITS TOO WELL.
IS THIS ^^ ANNIE AND BOBBY BECAUSE I THINK IT IS
and bobby is always down to prank kara, ahahaha. and even though heâs a really angry soul, i think bobby does genuinely like annie?? because he does have fun with her and sheâs great with kara and she gives him money. so i think he does actually like having her around. heâs just not going to tell her that because ew emotions, haha.
OOC | Natalie & Bobby
There arenât alot of things you can do to get on Natalieâs bad side, but mistreating her siblings is the biggest path there and I feel like when it comes to that, Natalie is probs less forgiving than Valerie or Seth would be themselves. Â I feel like any time she sees Bobby, she probs glares at him hahahah smh
she glares at him, ahahaha. and bobby probably just glares right back. because heâs super adult like that. but actually i think he thinks he really deserves her anger and valerieâs anger and sethâs anger. because he knows he treated val badly and he pretty much regrets that every single day of his life.
but he also doesnât know how to ~not be the way he is so he just clings to his anger and probably also convinces himself that he didnât do anything to natalie so she shouldnât have anything against him. but he also doesnât go ~out of his way to see any of the connors (except valerie) so he probably doesnât even see natalie that much?? but i can see them awkwardly running into each other somewhere (maybe sometime when he eats at valâs restaurant???) and the two of them just having a glaring contest, ahahaha. bobby larsson: actual child.

The Housemate | Colin & Bobby
There was a long silence before Colin responded. He wasnât sure if Bobby was messing with him or not, but after considering that Bobby seemed to lack a sense of humor completely, he decided that he had to be serious. And that was one of the most depressing things he had ever heard. âOh my god â what??? Donât let Chase hear you say that. But â wait, how does that happen? How do you not like movies? Everyone likes movies. You probably arenât watching the right ones. We gotta fix this. Wait â have you seen Star Wars? If you havenât seen Star Wars we are gonna fix that today.âÂ
Come to think of it, that would explain so much about him. No wonder he seemed so angry all the time.Â
âHey, Chase isnât working today, so this might be the perfect day to get a few classics under your belt. I donât wanna brag, but we definitely have the movie marathon thing down here. One year Chase and Valerie watched all 501 movies that are in that 501 Movies You Must Watch Before You Die book. Between you and me, that was a little crazy, but I definitely watched some good ones with them.â
He was running through a list of movies he thought were especially amazing (besides Star Wars, they should definitely consider watching Lord of the Rings and Die Hard ⌠maybe throw in Happy Gilmore for a little comic relief) when he turned his attention to the coffee maker. â⌠itâs not doing anything.â He commented. âItâs trying but â nothingâs coming out.â He shrugged, âCoffee makers never last around here. We make too much of that stuff.âÂ
He watched Bobby walk around the kitchen, like he was looking for something. Or maybe he was just confused? Or stressed? âHey, look â maybe this is a sign. Job hunting is like a fulltime job, so maybe you should just take the day off. Câmon, Iâve already made a few extra eggs and we can definitely fit in a movie or two?âÂ
He knew it had been a bad idea as soon as it had left his mouth. Saying he didnât like movies would only make Colin want to make him like movies. And that opened up a whole new can of worms. Which Bobby had neither the time nor the energy to combat. âNo, Iâve never seen Star Wars. And I donât plan to start today. Or ever, for that matter. I donât watch nerd movies.â
And just as suspected, this didnât start and end with one movie. Now Colin was planning to make him watch 500. Five. Hundred. Bobby could barely stomach sitting through one movie with Colin, let alone five hundred of them. No, he had to get out of here. Fast. Before his housemate had any other bright ideas.
âLook, Colin, I donât watch movies. Itâs not that Iâve been watching the wrong ones or whatever youâre thinking. I just donât like movies. Period. I donât like sitting that long. And they donât interest me. Sorry.â
He wasnât sorry. And none of that was precisely true. On some of the days while he was âout looking for work,â Bobby would go to the local theatre. It filled the days. A few days ago he saw that dinosaur thing. It had been good. Lots of action and death. Just his style. Colin would probably hate it. No wait. It was fantasy. Colin would probably love it. Drat.
If Bobby had wanted to tell Colin about his movie preferences, which he didnât, he wouldâve told him that he like action movies. And horror. Those were his favorite. He briefly considered agreeing to Colinâs movie marathon but on his own terms. And then renting all of the bloodiest, goriest movies he could find. See how Colin handled that. He probably couldnât. And it might get Colin off his back. The thought made Bobby smile. Or, well, what he considered a smile. Others probably considered it a grimace.
And then Colin offered him breakfast again. Couldnât this guy take a hint? Obviously not. âI canât take a day off. With the way everyone is always on my back about when Iâm going to get a job, I need to be out there looking. I canât do that if Iâm here watching movies with you. Unless, of course, youâre planning to pay me.â
He raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms over his chest and knowing fully well what Colinâs response would be. But maybe this response would be the one that got Bobby out of the house. He hoped.
The Housemate | Colin & Bobby
Colin gave a half chuckle, âOkay, so I know that thereâs common misconception that comic books are for nerds and teenagers, but hey Iâm a huge comic book fan, so that alone should disprove that theory. But, even if you arenât into super heros or whatever, there are literally comic books about anything. Saying you donât like comic books is like saying you donât like movies.âÂ
He shrugged, âThatâs rough. I remember when I went looking for my job everyone wanted experience, but itâs like â where are you supposed to get it?â It was too bad that they were werenât hiring down at the minigolf. Colin would put in a good word for Bobby. (Yeah heâs not exactly a people person, but heâs a hard worker ⌠or something.)Â
âEh, come on! You canât go job hunting on an empty stomach. Iâll just whip you up a few. Besides, I think they are gonna expire soon, so someone should eat them. Oh, uh, also the coffeemaker is broken. I donât know what happened, but I tried to make some last night and it takes forever and then it just tastes like mulch water.âÂ
And that was another thing theyâd have to save up to get. Not that Nick wouldnât buy them all a new state of the art one that probably also made espresso and played music and took your heart rate, but heâd done enough for them. They could pay for their own coffeemaker even if they were gonna pay for it with change they dug out of the sofa.Â
Colin rolled his eyes when Bobby called Chase his boyfriend. He had no idea why he kept saying that. Probably just to get a rise out of them or something. Or maybe it was because he didnât have any friends and didnât know how a real friendship worked. It wasnât like he and Chase did any couple-ly things.Â
âOh, donât worry. Heâs already eaten. I brought him breakfast in bed.â Maybe he should have explained that Chase was feeling a little under the weather and breakfast in bed meant some unbuttered toast and a glass of water and not anything romantic, but he didnât even stop to think about how it sounded.Â
"I donât like movies,â Bobby set his jaw as he stared at Colin. It wasnât precisely true. There were some movies Bobby liked. But he could almost bet they were not the same kind Colin liked. And besides, the guy was running his mouth yet again. And of all the things Bobby was up for this morning, this conversation definitely was not one of them.
It was all Bobby could do to keep from snorting in Colinâs face when he said he should be proof enough that comic books werenât just for nerds and teenagers. As far as Bobby was concerned, thatâs exactly what Colin was. Just an overgrown teenager who still acted like the nerd heâd been in high school. Did Colin really not see himself?
He turned his attention away from Colin, muttering a âYeah, itâs rough,â as he continued to watch the coffee pot. Which it now seemed wasnât going to brew at all. âHow do you know itâs broken?â he asked, choosing to ignore Colinâs offer to, yet again, cook him breakfast.
But just as he was about to list all the reasons it might not have worked for Colin, a stream of murky brown began to fill the pot. The words died on his lips as he watched the stream for a moment before he suddenly reached to rip the cord from the wall. âGreat. Thatâs great. I just wanted a cup of coffee for my job search. Now Iâm going to have to hit Starbucks before I even start.â
It really was not that difficult to keep things working around here. At least, for Bobby. But Colin and Chase seemed to break everything they touched. Bobby probably couldâve fixed the coffee pot but why bother?
And of course Colin had brought Chase breakfast in bed. Of. Course. Did he even hear himself? Bobby chose to let this go without comment. For once. He didnât want to prolong this conversation any more than he had to. He would much rather be out the door and off. Then when he knew Colin and Chase were gone for the day, heâd sneak back in. At least that way they wouldnât see him and start asking questions.
But to do this, he first had to make it out of the house.
Bobby picked up his paper cup and shoved it back into the drawer with all the others, pushing past Colin as he excited the kitchen. He stopped next to the door, searching for his coat. But it wasnât there. Where had he left it?
Of course. By the back door. In the kitchen. Where Colin was still standing.
This day just couldnât get any better.Â
With a sigh, Bobby walked back into the kitchen and over to the rack that was nailed to the back door, searching for his coat. He could almost feel Colinâs eyes boring into the back of his head like an eagle thatâs just located its prey.
OOC | Sally & Bobby
Oh yeah, actually Sallyâs supposed to be bffs with Sasha, so thatâd be the one! ;D But sheâs also friends with Valerie, so either way, I guess? Hahahah also Sally is bffs with Kara and Annie, soooooo tbh they probs couldnât avoid knowing each other if they wanted to (which lbr Bobby might bc SallyâsâŚwell, sheâs Sally) Six degrees of separation is so great itâs gotten me so many plots on oceanfront i s2g HAHAHAHAHAH So yeahâŚIâm not really sure what kind of relationship theyâd have tbh??????
Actually sheâs not. Lizzy send said Sashaâs relationships somehow ended up wrong on the post. So actually Sally is not one of Sashaâs predetermined relationships. (Though we can keep that if you want?? I can still see them being besties!!) But ahahahaha. Ohhhh man. Bobby probably sees Sally everywhere because of all the connections and is in a constant state of wHAT Is wITH THiS CHicK and yeah. This is going to go well. *facepalm*
He probably puts Sally in the same category as Chase and Colin: which is why are they so weird?!?! He seriously thinks Colin and Chase and from a different planet and Sally probably falls into that as well, haha. I can see Annie, Kara and Sally being like the nice version of the Plastics and, like, trying to tame Bobby anytime all three of them together. Like the three of them sitting around and Bobby just happened to be at Karaâs house and they all just look at him and go âyou know, you would look much nicer if x happened. and we could help you look good for interviews if you did xâ and Bobby is like âoh no. stay away from me.â *flies out the door and straight into the ocean* hahahaha.
aND RIGHT?!?! Six Degrees of Separation in Oceanfront is tHE BEST. I love it so much. All the relationships itâs spawned is just so beautiful. <333
Meeting is Such Sweet Sorrow || Valerie & Bobby
âWhat are you doing, Bobby?â She asked, exhaling. She was tired of this: tired of whatever game he was playing. She never knew what had snapped inside of him that changed him into this other person â or maybe he had been that way all along, but she just hadnât been able to see it? He had treated her like shit and sheâd walked away and heâd treated her like shit since. But this new back and forth thing was almost worse.Â
Heâd always act polite around his sister and Valerie rolled her eyes at it, but that behavior made sense, at least. But it was just the two of them there now. So why the hell was he acting like this?Â
âWhatâs wrong with them?â She repeated, eyebrows raised. âWhatâs wrong with you?âÂ
She shook her head, frustrated. âYou donât have to live there, you know. Colin and Chase are some of the best people youâll ever meet and youâd know that if you stopped being an ass everytime they tried to get to know you. But if you have to leave the house every time they plan anything, then why do you stay? Why do you insist on hanging around people that you hate? Why do you keep coming back here? Do you get off on driving everyone crazy?â
She almost laughed when he told her to cut the act, âOh, wow. Funny, i was going to say the exact same thing to you. Just so I can clear this whole thing up though, what act is that, exactly?âÂ
She scoffed at his invitation, âIâd rather eat alone, thanks.â She wasnât hungry, but even if she was, she didnât think anything he could say would make her want to sit down and have dinner with him.Â
The last time theyâd eaten together had been years ago, when they were still together. It had started out well enough but halfway through he became irritated and then angry and the next thing she knew he was yelling. That had been it and she broke up with him right there in the parking lot.Â
Did he think she was an idiot? Did he think that she had forgotten?
Bobby scoffed as Valerie defended Chase and Colin. As if anything she could say would make him want to be around either of them for more than five minutes. Five minutes of them alone he could handle but put them together in the same room and it was all Bobby could do to keep from vomiting in his mouth.
âYeah, well, maybe I donât have any other choice. Did you think about that, sweetheart?â This time, there was a bitter tone to the endearment. âMaybe if I leave Iâd have no other place to go.â
He set his jaw as his eyes bored into hers. âBut maybe if theyâd told me about their barbecues and their matching aprons and anniversaries, I never wouldâve moved in in the first place. Donât act like theyâre the victims here because last time I checked, I was the one who walked blindly into the homo of the month club. They celebrate their anniversary, Val. Who does that?â
Bobby sat back, glaring at her as she took their side again. As always. He honestly didnât know what she saw in them. They were the biggest freak show heâd ever met. And he saw them on a daily basis. He knew how they behaved behind closed doors. It was like they were married already. Even they acted like they were married. And they still said they were just friends? But Bobby didnât like to dwell on that. It just made him angrier.
âYou know exactly what it is, Val. You act like you hate the ground I walk on and that Iâve personally wronged you every time I so much as walk through the door. But youâre happy to see me. Hate is a strong emotion. And you wouldnât hate me so much if it didnât mean, deep down, you didnât still care. So why donât you pack away your claws and sit down. Thereâs no one here to see you, if itâs your reputation youâre worried about. Though youâre always free to tear my head off some other time when your brother is present to play witness.â
He kicked the chair again, harder this time. His gaze remained locked with hers as he leaned forward, pointing to the chair. âSit,â he commanded. âBecause I really donât think youâd like the alternative.â
