at ease in a place that he considers his own territory, lucas plops himself down on the plush sofa opposite to the castle’s guest, reclining against the backrest and crossing his legs. he’s more than a little bothered at how fast this boy imprinted onto the princess, like a little puppy whimpering after it’s owner after too much time spent apart, but there’s not that much he can find wrong-- yet. he’s always trusted in his own instincts.

JULY 13, 2015 - JULY 13, 2020 : HAPPY FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF FRIENDSHIP CHRIS ! @yeonban

i’m so salty. for me the anniversary is on the 13th of july and here i am... on july 14th... making this post. i blame your propaganda chris. to right this wrong you have to wait until i get another chance to make one of these posts on a friday the 14th, which will be in another decade. i thank you for your time.

ANYWAYS chris, my good bitch, it’s been five fucking years since we’ve became friends, like holy shit? that’s so wild? we’ve known each other since we were edgy teenagers just fucking shit up on tumblr and just having fun like the stupid kids we were and now we’re both adults who continue to get busier. i’m going on my senior year of college and you’re about to start college. that’s so wild for me to see, especially since i’ve known you since you were in middle school. oh my god, you’re growing up so fast, i don’t know what to do? like what the fuck, chris stay a kid, honestly the audacity you have to grow up-- but alskjfhaskljfhaskl no matter how busy we are i’m still glad we can talk to each other pretty often. and i’m thankful we don’t have to talk to each other every single day if we’re not feeling up to it. there are times where i just don’t feel like responding to anyone (or i look at a message and forget to respond to it for days) but picking up a conversation from where we last left off regardless of how much time has passed? i loved that for us. i’ve had so many friendships in the past where people got mad if i “ghosted” them, aka not respond right away while i’m doing something else, and i’m just glad we can both agree that shit like that is bullshit and just??? talk to each other whenever we feel like it.

ageismisim aside, chris have i ever told you that i love you. i love you so much, you’re on of the best bros, buddy, pals i could have asked for. our friendship means so much to me. you’ve been one of the constants in my life for a long time and that’s honestly so comforting. like i could wake up and rant to you if i want or send you the most confusing memes there is and you’ll still laugh with me, and i can do the same for you without feeling drained or anything because i expect these kinds of conversations. it’s weird to think that we know what the other is going to say even before either of us says anything but honestly sometimes it’s so funny and i love those moments. it’s just! an overall comfort to know someone so well that you don’t have to worry about how they’re going to react most of the time. other times it’s great because one of us can just say some shit and stump the other for some time and it’s one of my favorite things. we can be the true gremlins that we are with each other and not have any expectations besides basic human decency with each other.

despite being in so many different fandoms too we’re still able to talk to each other about the things we’re currently obsessing with without any hitches in our conversations? like bro... we know enough about each other that even if we don’t know something, we can still have a conversation without any problems. that’s honestly amazing and i’m so grateful for it too because sometimes i just Don’t have anyone to talk about my interest and then i’m like wait chris exists. and bam! an entire conversation and we mayhaps pull each other into another fandom.

ON THAT NOTE? it’s so NICE to just have someone understand you through all the bullshit you say. i know sometimes when i type out messages it’s not entirely coherent because i just don’t have the energy for it sometimes but you get  me anyways. like bro... that’s so great bro...

Shorter is like a hurricane, nearly sweeping Eiji off his feet with a great embrace before moving on and leaving his footprint all around the apartment. Eiji raises an eyebrow at Shorter’s story, knowing Chinatown was more than a little ways away, but the Clan leader is jumping into his next thought before Eiji could comment on it. It would be a great understatement to say that Eiji was quite happy with his unexpected guest, greatly relieved he wouldn’t be spending the day all alone as he has expected.  

Eiji blinks at the mention of Ash, and he looks at Shorter as the other moves around. “So you talked to him? Do you know what he’s doing?” 

He knows why he has to stay behind here, he really does, but taking a couple pictures could only distract you so much from the worry. 

If it were Ash no doubt Eiji would be scolding after him like a housewife, but Shorter is a more than welcomed guest, and Eiji rushes over to the kitchen after him. “I am making tamago right now and maybe a soup,  but if you want I can make something different?” He looks at Shorter with an eager smile. 

“nah, that sounds great. it’s been awhile since i’ve had my eggs as anything besides sunny side up.” he’s not lying. it was the fastest thing to both cook and eat, though that’s not information that eiji needs to know at the moment. he’s not going to give anyone else a reason to criticize how he feeds himself compared to how he helps runs his restaurant. shorter hovers by eiji in the kitchen, wanting to watch as the food is made. he loves watching food being made almost as much as he loves eating.

       He’s definitely focused on the game in front of them, but Shiro does catch sight of the surprise on Lance’s face from his periphery and a little thrill of satisfaction blooms in his chest. Which is – it’s ridiculous, it’s selfish and unproductive and god is it nostalgic. As terrible as it should be, to invest not only in downtime but in winning like this, it also feels just so right and for a moment, Shiro delights in it. Not that he has a lot of time to do that – is this faster than he remembered ? He’s sure as hell not going to say he’s getting old; the last age he remembers being is twenty six and he’s, honestly ? Kind of tired of thinking that his life is slipping like sand through his fingers. 

       So when he misses one of the arrows he doubles down, hitting five in a row until he’s met with a little combo ! flashing across his screen, punctuated by a flurry of sparks – that, unfortunately, almost obscures the next arrow he needs to hit. Almost. No longer hiding the wolfish grin that wants to catch his lips. ❛ I mean, I could, ❜ he says, then pauses to make sure he finishes the next few steps with precision, ❛ But I think I’m good, actually. ❜ Lance is moving fast and Shiro takes a moment to admire his skill and precision. But just one. Another combo under his belt ( and another step away from draining someone’s funds – what account would they even use for unlimited cards ? it sure as hell won’t be his ) and he really can’t help but muse, ❛ So – strategy games for training ? Or trust falls ? How about both ? ❜ 

lance catches the double meaning of shiro’s reply with a pinch of salt. he hates to admit it, but shiro is good. better than good. shiro’s keeping up with lance and if that doesn’t get his adrenaline going then, oh boy, lance sure as hell hopes the thudding in his chest isn’t a heart attack. he’s way too young to die, way too young to lose at dance dance revolution, way too young to be subjected to shiro’s idea at what a good workout is. he’s seen it before. he’s experienced it, and he’s pressed f in their group chat after hell training was done and they were drained and couldn’t utter more than a few words. lance would much rather exert all his energy on trying to win this round. it’s for a good cause. it really is. but... lance would be lying if he said it isn’t nice to see shiro let loose for once. even if it’s against him, the guy needs a break.

seven isn’t very often blessed with jumin making the first move when it comes to physical affection, a surprise vacation maybe, a new car to add to his collect (or to repay for crashing one of his babies, really, he doesn’t know why he even trusted the trust fund kid with his keys after the first incident), or perhaps even the occasional dinner. expensive and over the top dinner that he’s actually come to enjoy because he’s at a point in his life where he can afford the tailor made suits.

so when jumin gives him a kiss, lingering, firm, and yet all the same soft and gentle, he can’t help the smile that blooms on his face. not the grin or smirk that often comes attached to his face whenever seven is the one able to shower jumin with affection out of thin air, no, it’s a smile that he can’t help but showing when his heart lifts and he feel so so loved, one that he can’t hide because it would be painful if he did, it would strain him to act like he’s not affected by jumin, like he doesn’t feel giddy at the thought that jumin fucking han is his boyfriend.

seven smiles and leans up, raising on his toes to give a quick kiss back to jumin, wanting more and more but slowly standing back because this is so out of the blue, not something that seven usually experiences from jumin. he looks up at him, questioning, calculating. “as much as i would love for you to do that more, you usually don’t.” it’s not accusing, just curious. “so what’s the occasion?”

sidon has never gone out of the boundaries of the zora domain, not like link has or like mipha had. the farthest he had gone was when he had been searching for a hylian ( for link! ), but he never strayed far into the lands of the others. not the gerudo, not the rito, and not the gorons. he feels bound to his people, and he’s unsure if they would take kindly after the loss of his sister. but if he goes with link… 

“i’m sure that my father would allow me to go if you are to accompany me! i would also appreciate your company,” he offers link a smile, sharp teeth glittering in the shard of light that falls upon sidon. “perhaps, with you alongside me, i will be allowed to travel! where would we go first?”

having someone accompany him on his adventures around hylia isn’t something he minds, rather, dragging someone around the world and showing off all the neat places and trinkets he’s found is more of something that he wants to do. so no, sidon nor does the king have to persuade link to travel side by side with the prince. he’s already making up a list in his head of places to go.

soren thinks that it’s safe to say that both he and his dad hates waiting for the doctor to call their names as they sit in the waiting room. it’s not exactly an enjoyable experience, for soren because he has to sit still and wait and honestly that’s a torture in of itself. for his dad, he would think it’s because he rather be doing anything else besides doing nothing. so soren takes his phone out of his pocket and leans against his dad, moving the phone so that they can both see the screen clearly. he has mystic messenger open because... well...

“so i’ve been dying in this game over and over again. yes, dying. i didn’t even know you can die in this game but i apparently did! i just want to progress with the story.” he starts the game, picking the horse icon because he’s been forced to restart the game since the very first interaction did not go so well. “alright so, basically, this game is an otome game. it’s kind of like an interactive novel? the story depends on what choices you pick.” he demonstrates with the first interaction, picking an option in his conversation with the man in the phone.

“the start of the game is kind of dumb. we’re forced to go to this location to return the phone or whatever, right. so we get to the apartment, but that’s where i keep dying.” he holds his phone up a bit higher once he gets to the point where the avatar is standing in front of the door. “this guy wants me to enter the house, but you raised me better than that. stranger danger and everything. but if i keep refusing to go into the house, the guy comes out of nowhere and kills me,” he shows his dad exactly that, with the main character trying to get away from the stranger who’s apparently been stalking her the entire time.

“you see my problem right? i just want to get past this part so i can flirt with some hot guys.”

players run past him, around him, forcing mei to calculate the points, to watch and realize that all the points he’s manage to score for the team means absolutely nothing when the other team is in the lead. they’re in the lead, in the last inning, leaving inashiro in the dust. leaving inashiro in defeat.

kazuya’s words-- as the other team leaps from the dugout and flood the field to cheer and celebrate and raise their voices as the crowd celebrates with them-- kazuya’s words shatters something in mei. it blows the reality of the situation in him, weighs him down as he comes back to the present and is made to realize that they lost they match. they lost the match all because mei wanted to show off and they could have won. insashiro could have won had mei just listened, had he just done what kazuya asked him to and they would be going farther into the matches, they could have made a legacy for inashiro. they didn’t, and it’s mei’s fault. he knows that, feels it when his stomach drops, his heart feel like it’s stopping, and the back of his eyes burn.

so this time, this time mei doesn’t shake kazuya off. he leaves, getting out of the catchers sight, brushes past their teammates who seem more concerned about him rather than being mad at him for costing them the game. he gets to the dugout, but then his coach...

his coach only makes him feel worse, and he’s left there after taking in the words from two of the people he admires the most, left there wallowing because he ended up being more bark than bite. he played himself to be such a great pitcher, but he isn’t. he isn’t and doesn’t this just prove it? 

mei doesn’t realize he’s been crying, hyperventilating until he realizes he can’t breath, can’t breath and he’s choking on air, trying to get anything, anything to stop the pains in his chest, but it only makes him feel worse. he can’t-- he can’t stop it-- only if masa were here-- he moves, lowering himself onto the dugouts floor, and curls up, trying to breath, wondering how he can face kazuya again after that. he has to get better, he has to be a better pitcher, even if he’s already spending all his time pitching and training he has to get better. he’s coughing, choking on air, struggling to breath, but mei only wants to get better. that’s all he cares about. if he can’t pitch then he doesn’t have any worth being on inashiro.
