My God, this ride is like my life

#1. Ocean: Armadillidium werneri “orange”

I heavily associate Ocean with patterns that look like plaid, and while there are sadly no plaid isopods, there are spotted ones like this! That, on top of the orange color and white dots, reminds me of Ocean a lot! Armadillidium werneri are a larger breed, usually ranging from 0.8 to 1.0 inches, which is big for an isopod! They are from the Mediterranean region of Southern Europe. For those who don't know much about isopod coloration, the color is selectively bred for; in the wild, they are not bright orange, instead taking on a dark grey and black color with the same white spots. Armadillidium werneri isopods have a discreet, active, and reactive personality. Also, isopods have personalities, btw!! Isn't that cool!!

2# Constance: Ardentiella sp. "Pink Lambo" (formerly Merulanella sp. "Pink Lambo")

I would have chosen a purple isopod, but sadly, purple isopods don't really exist. There are purple-ish isopods but not a bright vibrant purple. But I feel the Pink Lambo is a wonderful second option for Constance. While i know there isn't technically a canon look for any of the character, I tend to base this type of stuff around 2016 RTC, so Lillian Castillo played Constance and had the black and purple hair, I think the mostly black color of the Pink Lambo with the burst of bright pink and cream/brown mimic that wonderfully! Not to mention they also have an active, curious, and calm temperament, which I find very fitting! The Pink Lambo originates from Vietnam and is naturally found with these vibrant colors!!

A close second for Constance is the Pink Lemonade isopod, though!! They are active, bold, and fast-moving! These isopods really love exploring. They also are in the same genus as Pink Lambos!!

#3. Jane Doe: Cubaris sp. "White Head Ducky"

The White Head Ducky isopod is very shy and docile. They have a pale white head and darker segments on their back. This pattern heavily reminds me of the St. Cassian uniform, especially since Jane also has the little collar thing. They are native to Thailand and highly sought after!

#4. Noel: Ardentiella sp. “Red Ember Bees”

Red Ember Bees are incredibly bold, active, and dramatic. (Seriously, if they bump into another Red Ember Bee, they will rear up at one another lol.) They love climbing and are diurnal! If you aren't an isopod nerd, that's pretty rare! Usually isopods are nocturnal to prevent themselves from drying out. Isopods also are rarely truly arboreal because their modified gills, called pleopodal lungs, require constant moisture, and leaving the humid forest floor risks fatal desiccation (drying out). Anyways, tangent aside, I think these strongly represent Noel based on the colors and unique personality.

#5. Ricky: Troglodillo sp. "Green Spot"

In all honesty, most of my reasoning on this one I can't explain—something about the Green Spot just reminds me of Ricky. I think it might be that it kind of looks like a night sky with bright stars. The Green Spot isopod has a shy, secretive, and highly thigmotrophic personality. They prefer tight contact with surfaces and spend most of their time tucked away. I guess that kind of fits pre-Cyclone Ricky, but I wish I could've found or thought of an isopod that represented him a little better.

#6. Misha: Cylisticus convexus "Ukraine Pied"

The Ukraine Pied isopod is from Ukraine (obviously) and can be quite fearless (but it does vary), active, bold, and social. They love to gather with each other under cork and wood!

While often mistaken for Armadillidium species because they can roll up, they are actually a unique color morph of Cylisticus convexus (the Curly Isopod). Instead of forming a perfect ball, they curl into a tight teardrop shape with their antennae sticking out, and their bold nature means they will quickly uncurl to explore!
