The time is finally here...feast upon the offerings for the second round, to find the even more most obscure webcomic!
For anyone new: this is a tournament where you vote for the comic you don't know, so that by the end, only comics people don't know will remain. This does not mean that comics included are obscure - there are some pretty big names in here - but that the winner will be the most obscure. If you start being annoying about a comic not being obscure you are liable to get blocked.
The complete list of webcomics can be found here, including links, images, details and descriptions as given by the submitter(s). Caveat emptor, I am not and will not be vetting the content of these comics; a lot of the descriptions include content warnings, but don't assume a lack of warnings means there's nothing triggering.
As with round 1.0, these are split into 16 subbrackets (A-P) to be actually legible, and there will be 4 polls coming out daily at 5 PM GMT / Noon EST / 10 AM PST
EDIT: as a heads up, I’ve been shadowbanned, which among many things means I have difficulty accessing my inbox, so if your ask doesn’t get a response that’s probably why.
Quick reminder of the rules:
You're voting for the comic you don't recognize; so the more obscure / less recognized comic moves forward
If you know both but have only read one, you may feel free to vote for the one you haven't instead of both.
If you've only heard of it through this blog / previous rounds, it doesn't count...unless you went on to read the comic.
Ties will have both comics move on for a threeway poll (ex)
If you are a creator who wants any details changed (description, image, link) let me know and I will do that for sure; anyone can submit a description to a comic that has none currently.
Don't be annoying about what comics were submitted / things not being obscure; it's liable to get you blocked.
finally... a list of the comics that were cut, are, well, below the cut.
edit: oh yeah tagging @tournament-announcer might be useful
for the record, I didn't do this for 1.0 because only one comic was cut, and that was Hetalia. But since instead we're cutting, like, 20 comics, I wanted to give links + explain reasoning. A lot of these are really good, so, go check them out while waiting for the polls to start up!
DC Webtoons
Look: these were valid submissions, but let's be real: if I'm going to be cutting webcomics, I'm starting with the ones put out by Detective Comics Comics. They can handle it. Also, from a popularity standpoint I'm pretty sure they'd all be out in round 1 anyways, even going up against the other 'too popular' comics.
Batman: Wayne Family Adventures
Red Hood: Outlaws
Zatanna & the Ripper
Not including the descriptions b/c they were just the official ones copypasted. Also, I am throwing shade on the fact Vixen was the only official DC webtoon not submitted.
Deleted Webcomics (no archive)
So, again, these were valid submissions. As with last round, I don't have an issue with deleted comics. However, the best place to trim down was undeniably with the comics you can't actually click through a link to read. Some of these are available, but in print exclusively.
Basin Vale
Blade Bunny (available in print)
Daimonikos
a witch accidentally summons a demon who just so happens to be a top athlete when a demon hunter bursts in and stabs them before the three of them all somehow end up dating each other
Epicsplosion
FreakAngels (available in print, also like. by Warren Ellis.)
23 years ago, twelve strange children were born in England at exactly the same moment. 8 years ago, the world ended. This is the story of what happened next.' - Post apocalyptic modern steampunk. If you liked Umbrella Academy, you'd enjoy FreakAngels.
Mahou Josei Chimaka (available in print)
The Mows
Pictures for Sad Children
Todd Allison and the Petunia Violet (the *archive* is now also broken. which may be temporary but...)
Todd Allison & the Petunia Violet combines "explosions, bombs, plant biology, chemical engineering, parties, pretty shoes and people swearing" into a beautiful comic. Was hosted on smackjeeves, but already abandoned by the time smackjeeves closed. I also read that there were a few more comics posted that was not picked up by the archive site, that are lost now.
Also, these are webtoons canvas comics where the link is dead, idk if this is temporary or permanent, or something about not having the app, but I can't see them so here they lie.
Strawberry Dream Boy (BL)
A young man named Clover gets his first job next to an all-boys university. The tips are good, but everything good in life comes with a price
The Queen and the Woodborn
Far away behind seven hills and seven forests, seven fields and seven rivers, there lived a Queen... welcome to the queen and the woodborn. a fairy tale romance for the mature readers about the unseen Queen and the Goddess in the woods. a tale of the two forgotten by the world around them who will make the world remember their names. expect gods and monsters and a romance for the ages.
Town of Thieves
In the kingdom of Jewelia, people are seperated by class. The rich take advantage of the poor while the poor steal from the rich. A kingdom rife with poverty and instability. What could go wrong?
Too Popular + No Description
So, I wanted to cut out some of the comics without a description (since it's a smaller number and I felt better about it for "low effort" submissions) and I ended with the same number for those that were deleted but available on the Internet Archive...and those that I classified as 'too popular'. I ended up choosing to include the archived, and cut out the too popular.
Achewood
Dinosaur Comics
Girls with Slingshots
Lackadaisy
One Punch Man
Sandra and Woo
The Perry Bible Fellowship
Popularity is pretty nebulous; I don't know how many followers on here recognize even veritable giants like Girls with Slingshots, but I feel pretty comfortable these are all definitely out in round 1's. There are definitely some more popular webcomics that made it in...but those all came with descriptions.
Miscellaneous
MinecraftPride - from what i can tell, this is a single page from 2015. sorry, not sorry, it won't make the cut.
The Three Bare Bears - I guess this kind of falls under "too popular" but while there is a description...this is 10 strips, and is now a mainstream cartoon. so....yeah
Anyways: to anyone who complains "why was this comic submitted, it's not obscure" know that the alternative was I put Wayne Family Adventures in that comic's place.

hi, really sorry to bother u with this. I'm trying to find a webcomic that idk how popular or obscure is and i dont remember its name and im trying to find it so hard.
I remember it made a bunch of legend of zelda references, all of its intermissions were references to dark souls (theres even a solaire parody chara i think), the characters were like semi furries (aka they all had like animal noses and ears and tails but weren't a specific animal). the protagonist was a girl that couldnt talk or didnt talk and her fur was green and used a sword. I think in the first chapter she goes to a dungeon thats a level more difficult than she could handle and cant haggle prices.
In a chapter she gets possesed by an evil arm but she likes it until it starts being a problem, her bestie was a prince that was dumb and naive and clueless about class struggle and the mage of the castle had an emo phase. The store had a policy of no shirt no service or no pants no service. And it all looked like hand inked, but im not sure i remember that well
Hey there! A friend and I've been looking for a webcomic for a few years now back from the dA webcomics boom from the 2000/2010's but haven't been able to find anything. I think it was about a teen named Hugo and the man assigned to watch over him (instead lieu of a promotion.) I think it was teased to have an animation at some point. It had pretty clean lines/colors and a cartoonish art style. I vaguely remember something about people getting earrings at age 16? Does anyone else remember this? I think the artist may have long since nuked their account.
congratulations and or sympathies to our winner, and to our second place ties Senhyakkin and Arestis City, as well as our third place, Penance. It's been a good show!
I don't recognize both The Embodied and Senhyakkin
I don't recognize both The Embodied and Arestis City
I don't recognize both Senhyakkin and Arestis City
I recognize all three!
I recognize none!

A selection of super powered teens are summoned by the city's greatest heroes to solve a case inside a run-down high school. Can they put their baggage aside and work together to save the day? Or are they in over their heads?
Penance - Abandoned
A webcomic about the relatively niche 1993 game Angband that the creators strangely decided to start and run 13 years later from 2006-2008, well after the game's peak popularity.
So… what happens if two ties go up against each other?
good question! I don’t know.
okay, so, it didn’t happen in 1.0 and it doesn’t look like it’ll happen in 2.0 (if it does, it’d probably be for the literal finale). but in theory, since there aren’t enough options to keep it on one poll I’d set it up as round robin.
So, if it was A vs B and C vs D tied, I’d post A vs C, A vs D, B vs C, and B vs D as polls, and base it of who won the most.
A bit more spammy then I’d like but there’s only one poll per post - maybe I’d put them in a reblog chain? we’ll cross that bridge if we come to it.
Hey, we've hit all the quarterfinals polls being up! the end inches ever closer. Stats are, as always, below the cut

Reblogging this pretty late, but wow! I'm surprised we got knocked out so soon! I guess the finished status and how short it is compelled just enough people to read!
Anyway, if this little comic interests you, be sure to give it a read! And feel free to share your thoughts on it!
If you really enjoyed, consider following for the (rare) TASFS art! And for a possible reboot of the series! Coming... eventually. Maybe. 😝

Story about a man slowly getting friends for once in his life and fighting strange new threats. Really good fight scenes after the first bit.

I was basically that one meme pic of that guy who cheered like he fucking won the lottery when he won a bronze medal instead the whole time my comic (The Dandy Robot) managed to make it through the ranks.
I guess (???) RIP that it didn't make it to the end, but also I suppose I am happy it's not the most obscure webcomic out there, or at least, THIS tournament, so count my blessings? For reals, it was fun watching how many people didn't know my comic for the last few months. I hope someone noticed it during and is enjoying it right now, and if you are, thank you for reading it!
And thank you, obscure webcomic tournament, for accepting my comic. And anyone curious to read The Dandy Robot, here's a handy, link.
Thank you and to the rest of the comics, good luck! May there be folks out there who found hidden gems during the tournament! I certainly saw a few I've enjoyed reading or looking forward to.
