gonna be honest with you guys, before the game I was going to message the admins to drop my muse. because I felt like I wasnât giving this place enough love and I was losing muse for cris.Â
but then I remembered why I loved obs in the first place. this community has been my favorite since I started rping years ago, and that really says a lot. I know some of ya know this but Iâve been through ALOT with this whole online roleplaying stuff and there were a lot of times that were just not fun for me.Â
but in obscura, its always been fun.Â
Iâm not leaving, but I am dropping all my previous threads (besides bromance cause come on) so if youâd like to plot, like this post and I will crash into those dms ;) nothings changing about cris or his past so donât worry, heâs still the same lovable, rampagey lion that almost killed his entire fam cause his ex was murdered. :D canât wait to plot

He gives one final glance at his cart, determining that it would be enough, for now. âYes.â His dark eyes return to Cris, toothy smile returning to his face. The hiccup from before was already out of his mind. Food had made sure of that. âThat sounds good to me. We should head on over right now.â In his haste, he begins to wheel his cart on over towards the register, quick to begin to load his produce onto the belt. The process is smooth enough, and Himchan finds himself with two plastic bags in hand, waiting for Cris to meet him on the other side.
âAre you ready to lead the way, bro?â
âYou better!â Cris immediately replied at the offer. All though he wasnât as wild as he was in his younger days, there were some days where he would find himself a bit battered. Going to conventional hospitals and having injuries recorded wasnât really his thing. It was a habit his family made him adopt due to intensive training while he was growing up. But with a doctor friend like Himchan, the man wouldnât have to worry about anything anymore. Granted he wasnât getting into fights and could somehow come up with elaborate excuses about the large animalistic gashes. âAfter that, you should really look into your own practice. Its a really rewarding feeling.âÂ
Once Himchan was done with his groceries, Cris quickly passed his items on the belt and swiped his card. With two bags on each hand, he thanked the cashier and joined his friend. âAlways bro.â He said with a smile, leading the other man out towards the coffee place. It was an airy space, large in size but felt cozy due to the neutral shades and plush seating they had. It was only one floor, but they had an outside seating area. It led to a small backyard enclosed by plants, with a similiar feel to his restaurants decor. Thankfully the owner was in today and greeted the two with a firm handshake and a free pass to anything on the menu. âThis place makes great coffee and they also have really yummy pastries if youâre in the mood of course.âÂ
âIâll just have a latte, with whole milk.â With the drinks in hand, Cris found a seating towards the back. There werenât a lot of people so it would allow to them to speak a bit freely. But he still couldnât shake the smell earlier. And he wondered what that was all about. âHowâs the Pride doing?â The owner of the shop chimed in, not realizing that his friend wasnât a supernatural. It was all Cris hung out with nowadays. Including the coffee shop owner, who was a werebat. âI was out with my sister on a flight last night and I think I spotted your pops by the manor. Heâs the one with the golden mane right?â If looks could kill, that guy would be dead. âUhhhhhh, lets talk later yeah? Iâm catching up with an old friend.: Â

âź - DAYSTAR - a secret they donât want coming to light
The members of the Yu Pride are noble. The members of the Yu Pride are strong. But the members arenât perfect. The pride isnât perfect and everyone has their secrets.Â
For Christian however, his secrets are precious. As the prince and the next head of the pride, his actions are constantly scrutinized. His history with the fae were looked down upon. The direction of the restaurant as a safehaven for all supernaturals were scoffed at. His intense relationships with anyone, even remotely different from him, earns a side eye from many of his family members.Â
But no matter how much they hate him, they will always protect his secrets. For if anyone speaks about the farmer that lost his life at the hand of the prince, they will face a fate even worse than death. Â
Ď - LIGHTNING - something they thought theyâd left in the past, returned
He is unable to sleep. Whenever he even tries to close his eyes, his face is always there. It is a nightmare heâs been dealing with for weeks now and no matter what spell or charm he tries to use, it always comes back.Â
It was the scream that had woken him up this time, a scream so desperate and afraid that it echoes even now in reality. For him, its just a dream. A face heâs never seen before but its not the first time that a dream seems so familiar.
Whenever he tries to connect it to his memories, he canât. So it has to be fake, he likes to tell himself.
But then sometimes he remembers the little girl. The little girl who screamed monster. âIt canât be. Can it?âÂ
No, Cris. Back to sleep.Â

⏠- DIRGE - a habit, hobby, or obsession they canât seem to shake
Sweat poured out from every single pore as his hand movement became faster and faster. As a righty, he always started with that hand first but as the muscle cramps became too unbearable, the man quickly switched over to the other with ease, not even missing a beat.Â
His face had scrunched up at this point making him bear his teeth a little. This was probably not one of his most attractive angles but at this point, the rest of his body was moving on its own. His lips started twitching and soon he realized it would all come to an end soon. All this work would mean something very soon. All he needed to do was keep beating.Â
His chest moved forward making him lean over it now but that didnât slow him down one bit. Cris was determined to finish and all he needed was a few more seconds to make that happen.Â
Just a few. more. seconds.Â
In a final burst of strength, his left hand moved even faster taking delight in the white substance below him.Â
With his mixer borrowed out to his restaurant, Cris was forced to whisk up 5 cups of egg whites all on his own. But he didnât mind it much, not only was baking relaxing but with things like this, it allowed him to get a bit of an arm workout too.Â
âThese macaroons are going to be A-mazing.â
bromance.
obshimchan:
A pang of guilt stabbed his insides. Cris did not smell unpleasant, as he had implied. It made him feel wrong that he had resorted to such finger-pointing in order to save his own ass, not that he had even been able to. After all, Cris had mentioned wolves, and Himchan was not that dense. The other male knew, in one way or another. But that meant that Cris was, indeed, supernatural himself, and Himchan connected the dots. He had to be a werecat.
At the comment, Himchan awkwardly forced a laugh. âOr maybe it is just me.â He turned his head to sniff at his own shoulder for show. When he brought his head back up, a smile had returned to his face. This was definitely not the way he had wanted to meet his friend after a few years. The least he could do was to try to salvage the interaction by being silly. Or was it his goofiness that brought them to this in the first place?
His eyes drifted towards the grocery cart full of meat before returning back to Cris. âYeah! I donât have anything planned.â Himchan cleared his throat. It had been a number of years since the last time they had even seen each other. Excitement rose up within him, overriding the prior nervousness that had been building up. âThat would be really nice. You can tell me more about your restaurant, too!â Being a self-proclaimed food connoisseur, Himchan definitely felt the need to try his very own friendâs dishes. There was no way he would let the opportunity pass.
âIf my meat spoils because we spent too much time out, it would be worth it for you, bro.â
His response made him laugh, reminiscent of the good old days when their bromance was in full bloom. He remembers how easy it was when they first became friends, and although others would tend to misunderstand their genuine bond, it didnât really matter to the both of them. They both knew what they were about. Cris and Himchan understood each other even more than any of the girls in the werelions youth. It was an effortless bond where expressing themselves was never a problem. âIf youâre meat spoils, Iâll get you some more bro.â
But it has been years since then. Cris wonders if its changed now.
âAs a friend of mine, by the way, youâre always welcome to some free food there. I feel like Iâm there 90% of the day, so all you have to do is ask for me.â Taking the paper he had slipped into his pocket moments ago, Cris quickly scanned the list to make sure he had gotten everything. While he usually just ate at the restaurant, cooking at home was far more relaxing and he hadnât done personal food shopping in a while. âIâm going to make myself a feast.â The werelion thought to himself, enjoying his day off more than usual.
âDo you have everything you need?â He looked over at Himchanâs cart. âThereâs a coffee place three shops over. Not too far.â Upside was that he knew the owner of that place, and he always seemed to spoil Cris when he came in, as long as he returned the favor in his establishment. Everything has advantages and disadvantages. âWe can catch up and Iâll make sure we both get home before our food rots.â
âż - DECAY
monstrous headcannons. not accepting!
âż - DECAY - an old memory, from childhood perhaps
He remembers how the girl looked. Her lips frozen in an âoâ as she backed away from the boy with her hands glued to her side. Fear was a concept embedded into him since birth but he never saw it on others.
He never realized how the glimmer of light in a persons eyes dissapeared into nothingness. Or how the ball that would get stuck in someones throat was an actual tangible thing. Or how the body moved as it shut down and started itself back up again. He never realized fear was such an obvious thing.Â
A few more seconds passed before she finally screamed, the sound waves echoing against the tree before it became a whisper. It was a scream he had never heard before, a scream only a human could make and it sent him backwards onto the floor. As his hands scattered the ground at the last minute of his fall, he could feel a liquid substance below him. A sort of liquid he had never felt before. A liquid that made him feel sick almost immediatly.Â
He remembers how the girl looked and the sound of her voice, but there is also very little the boy remembers about that day. After she had finished screaming, a specific word had left her lips before he passed out. A word that haunts him even now.Â
âMONSTER!â
bromance.
obshimchan:
Himchan was aware their gestures were probably very odd, but tried not to care too much at this point. It had been too long since he had last seen Cris, and, heck, he reasoned, he was allowed to embrace his bro wherever he wanted to.
The urge to further tease Cris on the subject of having âleft himâ persisted, but Himchan knew better than to continue. There were times he had to be serious, and he figured that this should be one. âWell, I am glad things worked out for you. I know how it can be with life getting in the way and being chaotic..â Himchanâs life had only just been thrown into turmoil, with being bitten and having to learn how to live with his curse now. His entire life had been rather secure, so it was a complete change, and, frankly, it was very frightening. It was a mystery to him how others could live with such stress that was beyond their control.
âBut, wow, you have your own restaurant?â There was genuine surprise in his tone. âWe can have an exchange. I will make sure to do amazing surgeries on you should you need it, so long as you make sure I get all I can eat steak.â An amused laugh followed after. It was mostly offered as a joke, but Himchan could only hope for all the steak that he could consume.
âI-I mean..â He stumbled over his words, not sure how he should proceed. Are normal people not able to smell cats? Himchan could hardly recall anymore. âYou smell like kitty litterââ He began, but was brought to a grinding halt at Crisâ words. Wolves were too specific. Cris knew.
Swallowing thickly, Himchanâs gaze faltered. Nobody else was aware of his changed nature, thus he did not know how to broach the topic. Almost too quickly, Himchan muttered out, âNo.â
His response made him even more suspicious. Besides the fact that he never even used kitty litter or owned a cat to begin with, must of meant his sense of smell was in line with that of a supernatural. But instead of questioning further, and risk making his friend uncomfortable, Cris decided to drop it. The two did get closer than most in that moment and maybe something around them was just throwing him off. Â
Or maybe regular felines did have a specific scent to them. âGuess I need to take better showers.â The man joked, rubbing the back of his neck. âBut no animals at home for me, Iâm enough of one on my own.â His own words make him smirk.Â
As his eyes panned over to the surrounding meats, Cris realized he almost forgot why he was here in the first place. He had been too engrossed with catching up with an old friend, and almost walked out without grabbing what he needed. Reaching out to the venison, he picked up three packages then turned back to Himchan. This would be enough for his meal for tomorrow.Â
âSo listen...are you free after this?â He inquired, moving in a bit closer. He was sure he smelled wolf on him earlier, but it would probably be too much to give him another hug. âI was going to ask if you wanted to go get a coffee after this. Since we both have frozen meats, I wonât take too much of your time...â His words trailed off when he realized how long its been since theyâve actually hung out together. â...but I missed hanging out with you and I want to catch up.â

trapped.

[...]
He spoke one more time, and Ji Hye just had to laughâŚit was something about the familiarity of being trapped with someone else who wasnât entirely human; it didnât make the situation any less dire, but the news was a nice distraction. Although he was a stranger, and his magical nature should have worried her much more, Ji Hye knew that could deal with this situation on her own or she could deal with it in the company of someone who wanted to escape as much as she did.Â
Ji Hye didnât loosen the grip on her bag, but she turned towards the voice and nodded her acknowledgement of his presence, âNam Ji Hye, âbornâ a witchâŚIâd say it was nice to meet you, but these are pretty unfavorable circumstances.â One hand motioned to the area around her, and then latched onto her bag one more timeâŚthe bag was like a safety blanket; a reminder of control. âI was looking for flowers.â
She didnât want to ask about the thing in particular that he was chasing, and she was sure he wouldnât want to tell, so Ji Hye swept that one detail under the rug and tried to think of anything else. Her breathing was a little calmer now that she wasnât alone, and her mind had busied itself with the newfound distraction â âYou said you could see in the dark?â
The situation was far from favorable but with a calm mind and steady nerves, Cris hoped the two might find some way out. Preferably before nightfall, as this part of the forest might not be the safest at night. Then again, being in a collapsed cave, safe was a distant concept all together.
âAgreed.â At least she wasnât being too negative about the situation, since frantic was something to definitely avoid at a time like this. Staying calm was key. âThese are pretty shitty circumstances Nam Jihye, but weâre going to make it out somehow.â
Moving a bit closer, slowly in order to not provoke or scare the girl in any way, he crouched down to inspect the rubble behind her. Apart of him wondered if the collapse was done on purpose, and not an act of nature. He wondered if trapping them here was intentional and if a witch could cause something like this. âI can.â He finally replied, turning his gaze towards her. She was a human, and blind in the darkness, so he wondered how the two would even be able to manage down here. âI donât have a flashlight, as poking through caves wasnât really on my to-do list today butâŚâ His sentence trailed off once he remembered the lighter. It was old and used and confiscated by an employee who was trying to get over his smoking addiction, but it was something.
After a few seconds of fishing it out of his pocket, he rolled his thumb down the metal wheel and pressed hard on the ignition button. The first roll produced a tiny spark, but there was no flame in sight. After a few more embarrassing tries, a quick flame arose then died. Today was not his day and although this probably a slow insanity creeping up on him, he felt like the lighter was taunting him. âUhâŚsorry about that.â He apologized, hanging his head in shame. âI just wanted you to be able to see too.â As the man picked up his head, an object from the corner of his eye caught his attention. It was small but familiar and he hoped it was exactly what he thought it was. âDid you drop a flashlight during the collapseâŚbecause I think I see it to your far left.â

âCris?â Wide eyes stare at the man in front of him. He was caught off guard. It had been years since he had even seen Cris in the flesh â all he had seen for the time being was photos uploaded onto social media. Maybe this was a sign from fate to reconnect.
Himchan was less hesitant then, outstretching his arms to envelop Cris in a hug. He was always one to be affectionate, and he thought they had been pretty good friends back in high school. It would not be too weird, right? He pat Crisâ back for extra measure and tried to keep it brief. That did not deter the strong scent of a feline from quickly reaching his nostrils. Darn it. In the excitement of the situation, he had forgotten to breathe through his mouth. He had not pinned Cris to be the type to like cats, though. Now, he sniffed more obviously at the scent on his neck, before he caught himself and stepped back.
âEr, nice cologne.â He tried at redeeming himself. In his defense, it was really overwhelming to have so many different scents to explore. He was not yet accustomed to it, and he hoped Cris had not caught on to his little blunder. Years had passed, and although Cris did not seem to be an extremist in high school, many things could have transpired in such an amount of time. That, and it was really weird to have a grown man sniffing another grown manâs neck in a supermarket.
âIt really has been a while. Why havenât you texted me at all, bro?â Himchan donned a wide grin, pushing the awkwardness aside. âI have been well, for the most part. I am going into my last year of med school, and then I can start my residency.â He left out the part that he may have to ditch the entire idea of being a surgeon soon. The thought was too painful. Being a surgeon had been a dream of his for years now, and now that he was nearing the finish line, the idea was being ripped from underneath him. No, he wasnât going to think about that. âHow about you? Did you adopt a bunch of cats and move out to the countryside?â Himchan teased, not forgetting the smell of the cat on him. Really, Cris had never struck him as a cat person.
The hug was welcomed by Cris, glad that even with the years of distance, their friendship was still intact. He clasped his arm around the other tight and chuckled when he patted his back. But it was something about his scent that still bothered him. Being so close, made his sense of smell ten times better and Himchan smelled exactly like a werewolf. But from what Cris remembered, he was always a human. And to think he might of been turned seemed a little unnerving for the man. As Cris sniffed him, he soon realized Himchan was smelling him too. Just a couple of guys hugging it out in the meat section and smelling eachotherâs necks.
This was definitely normal.
After finally pulling away, Cris flashed his old friend a sheepish grin. âUh, thanks. You too.â He finally managed out realizing how awkward that must of looked. âI changed carriers and lost all my contacts. But besides thatâŚâ Thinking back to the years that followed graduation, Cris remembers only that it was very hectic for him. Between the Yu Pride training, and balancing a degree and culinary training it was not a fun time for him. That was until he met her. ââŚlife got a little crazy for a bit. But no matter, I made it out and now I own my own restaurant in the Central District.â Hearing about his friends own success gave Cris another reason to smile again. âWell look at you, now I know who to go to if I need some healing.â Resting his hand on his shoulder, he squeezed it slightly as a subtle show of affection. Cris was happy to see him after all these years again.
âCats?â The question caught him off guard but made him chuckle. âI donât have any catsâŚwhy? Do I smell like one?â He eyed him suspiciously. Only a were could pick up something like that. âDo you raise wolves as a hobby or something?â

âIâm not sure,â the girl offers him a small pout. Her words dipped in an embarrassment that sugarcoats itself in her honey sweet voice. She tries to play off her mistake.
Batting her long lashes in hopes for forgiveness.
In hopes, he wonât be too upset with her stubbornnessâher determination to be the one to lead their adventure, and her persistence which leads them into this mess.Â
âI guess this was a bad idea, huh?â Jinsoul admits softly. It is then that she takes the opportunity to peak over at the otherâs visage in an attempt to read his expression. But soon, the feelings of embarrassment and guilt are only to be interrupted by a small laugh which bubbles to the surface of a well-placed smile. Â
âAs we can tell, Iâm not the best at following directions,â the girl half-jokes with a gentle sigh. Â
It was fun to see her squirm like that. She had been peering intensely into her screen yet he got the sense they had been lost for a while now. His question to her was just his way of seeing how much longer it would be until she finally admitted to him. She folded quickly. âYeah, I know now.â Cris teased, flashing a grin before taking in their surroundings.
This part of the district was pretty foreign to him, with all kinds of new smells and sights. Since his senses had been improving lately, everything seemed to attack him all at one. Between the flavored tobaccos drifting out of the shops with large windows and the smell of various food stalls and treat hugging the store fronts, the young werelion needed a second to adjust. âDonât worry, Iâm sure weâll be able to manage.â Cris said in an effort to reassure the girl. The two might not know exactly where they were but maybe he could do a better job with the navigating aspect of their little adventure.
Fishing his phone out of his pocket, Cris quickly maneuvered to the maps app. Pausing for a second, Cris looked down at the girl and tilted his head. âWhat was the name of the place again?â

â - SCALES - how well they balance their good and bad impulses
The only bad impulses he has are a result of his emotions, especially his anger. It is in those moments that violence is often the only solution for him, the only thing that can make things right.
Whether heâs punching a wall, or punching a person or going full on transformation on them, its in those moments that he doesnât feel like Cris. Heâs become a monster.
But then again, it usually requires extreme set of circumstances. Violence against supernaturals to name a few, and the missed chance of saying goodbye. As a werelion from the Yu Pride, he had been taught to approach most situations with a level head.
â - DEATH - the closest itâs come to touching their life.
During his rampage, Cris had barreled into his family home in an effort to get to where she was. To get to the other side. But that was not the first time he almost met death. The first time was on accident, and because he was still a child, it was even more terrifying for him.
His training under his father had started at an early age, and because of this he took to simple transformations easily. His father had always told him that this was their true form, and to never fear because they were called kings. But lions werenât a common sight in asia, so the day he wandered off the Yu property in his lion form was almost his last.
Cris didnât know how long he had been running for. He just kept on until he finally stopped hearing their footsteps. Armed with guns and traps, the boy knew they were dangerous. They knew what he was and wanted to kill him but Cris couldnât let that happen.
As he continued down the path, he had heard the sound of the gears a second too late. And all of a sudden everything went black.
Any memory after that has always been a bit hazy for him. He doesnât remember how he had gotten home or how he was saved, but he does remember the cage and how small it was. And how afraid he was. And also how the inside of a barrel looks like.
And thenâŚblank.
That was the first time he ever had a brush with death. But the second, that was planned.
⏠- DIRGE - a habit, hobby, or obsession they canât seem to shake
monstrous headcannons. accepting!
Temptation was a common battle for the young werelion. The allure of something being so easily accessible to him, yet unhealthy and unnecessary allowed him small victories throughout the span of his days. While the temptation was great, gnawing at his senses and scratching at his id, Cris couldnât- no, wouldnât - allow himself to fall into its trap. It was the kind of thing that once he started, he wouldnât be able to stop. And he just couldnât go through that again.
Sex is addicting, yet easily abstained from. And drugs and alcohol was a sin he overcame years ago. A vice he could control.
But chocolateâŚthat shit was deadly. And with just one bite, Cris feared he would lose himself in its velvety embrace.
And his abs too.

Ji Hye fell backwards, arms covering her head and stepped back into the cave. She winced at a dulled pain in the palm of her hands â probably from rocks on the ground â Â and upon feeling the odd sensation Ji tried to shine her flashlight on the source. And she would have if the thin torch was still in her hand.
When had she lost her grip on the small light?
The pace of her breathing quickened in the slightest, and she felt her heartbeat follow suit. The last thing she wanted was to be trapped in a cave, alone and in the darkâŚsuch unexpected disasters left Ji Hye reeling, stuck at the mercy of the elements of her craftâs alignment. The irony was a cosmic brutal thingâŚone that left a sour taste on her tongue and a pit in her stomach. For a moment, she just sat there, clutching onto her bag as she tried â and failed â to clear her mind of itâs racing thoughts.
It took him a few seconds to regain composure. Thanks to his feline vision, the man wasn't completely in the dark here. But that didn't take away from the fact that he was still trapped inside. Feeling around in his pockets, another series of curses left his lips once he realized his phone was no where to be found. It was possible he had lost it on his way to the forest somehow. Chasing a stuffed animal that was no where in sight at the moment. And it was also possible it was crushed somewhere under the rubble. "I just upgraded too." Cris muttered, bending down at the base of the rocks for a quick look. If his phone was still intact, maybe he could get a signal for help. If not, then the man would have to be a bit more creative in getting himself out this bad situation.
After a few seconds bent down, a loud thumping caught his ear. It was followed by quick breathing, leading him to believe someone else was down here too. Most would be concerned being trapped in a dark cave with a stranger, especially with all the things that had been happening in the city lately. But this person, whoever they were, was scared. And if there anything he could do, he was definitely going to help them.
Walking deeper into the cave, Cris followed her frantic breaths until he came onto another clearing. It seemed this too was a collapsed entrance, dark as the rest of the cave with a lone figure sitting curled up in the middle. She had a small form with long hair and had been clutching onto her bag, out of what he assumed was fear. The werelion figured she might not be able to see, human in race but smelled of herbs and flowers just like a witch usually did. "Looks like we both got stuck in here." He finally spoke, staying far as if to appear less of a threat. "I'm not going to hurt you, but I can see in the dark and you look scared."
Taking a deep breath, he spoke once more. "My name is Christian Yu and I'm a werelion. I got stuck down here after chasing something."
