i lied and decided to make a real request for this hello.

given the tragic history of seven devils, it only makes sense for there to be a therapy group available to those dealing with the immeasurable pain of losing someone dear to them. open to anyone who needs it, they gather once a week to process their individual grief together in the hopes of one day finding some peace and closure. 

i imagine the group has religious undertones given where they’re located, but otherwise this is a very loose, very open request. we can develop it together as a group. any character who has experienced a loss in their life is welcome to join!

death has marked every part of hattie’s life up to now. it’s something she’s never been able to escape. the countless miscarriages and still births her mother had before she was finally born (a family curse, supposedly), her brother’s murder when she was only 13, and now the recent tragic death of her beloved boyfriend in a drunk driving accident. 

through most of it, she managed to keep herself somewhat afloat - at least on the surface. instead of breaking down, she used the tragedies to fuel her and propel her forward towards success and perfection (a little too much, perhaps). maybe if she just tried harder, if she was pure and perfect, bad things wouldn’t happen to her and her family. maybe her mother would be able to look at her without pain. maybe her father would love her more. 

that all came to a literal screeching halt on the night of november 16th when she got in the car with her boyfriend, henry, after they had been out at a party drinking. he was killed on impact, not wearing his seat belt. both occupants of the car they hit were also killed. hattie was the only one to survive, although she spent almost a month in the hospital recovering from serious injuries. 

she’s spent the past 5 months desperately trying to pick up the pieces of her life and failing miserably. unable to deal with her parents’ scorn and disappointment and the horrible pain of losing the love of her life, she’s landed herself back in her hometown in forced therapy after swallowing a bottle of pills.

always a little melancholy and withdrawn, the recent murder of one sister and subsequent suicide of another has spun her into a deeper depression that she tries her best to hide. not wanting to burden her family in their time of grief, she buries her pain and assumes a caretaker role to try and hold the family together.

ingrid and jasper blomqvist are two hippie flower children who fell in love in their early 20s, eloped, and knew right away they wanted to have a huge family. unfortunately, the universe had other plans for them and after years of trying to conceive unsuccessfully, they decided there were plenty of children out in the world already who needed good homes and that this was a sign that they were meant to adopt instead. they filled their home with 7 children, some adopted as babies, some fostered and adopted at older ages. regardless, they’ve always treated every child in their home the same as if they gave birth to them. their parenting style was very laissez-faire and “free range”. they didn’t impose a lot of strict rules on their kids unless absolutely necessary and fostered an open-minded and accepting atmosphere at home. super hippie parents all about peace and love and acceptance of everyone. ingrid is an artist and a doula, and jasper owns a local natural foods market. since their kids are all grown now, they’ve moved outside of the city and have a small farm. you’ve probably seen them at the farmer’s market.  everything is pretty open here! saffron is the middle child so any ages older or younger than 23 are fine with me! diversity is welcomed and encouraged. the family is pretty close and they get together regularly for family gatherings! they can live in the city or in the small town outside of seattle, it’s up to you!!! i would like for all of the kids to have hippie-ish names (think weird nature, celestial, fruits, etc.) just to keep a lil theme! lmk if u have any questions!!!
